Very welcoming team at this pub , very helpful and super efficient in such a busy environment. Great selection of drinks/beers and so on Sunday roasts great and both the classic and buttermilk Burgers were spot on. Great choice of deserts too

Myself and partner visited The Bull for a pub lunch and was greeted by the lovely barmaid Sarah whose hospitality skills were outstanding. Sarah was so professional and helpful and guided us through the menu and also asked about any allergies we may have. Our experience was outstanding and the food was amazing. My partner enjoyed the salted pepper squid for his starter and the buttermilk chicken burger for his main. I had the king prawns and chorizo for my starter which was delicious and the hunters chicken for my main. The service was outstanding by Sarah and we will definitely be returning again soon. We had a nights stay here booking two rooms. Their website offers a comfortable and relaxing stay and ours was anything but… the rooms were dusty, not cleaned well, our room was filled with flies, I let about 20 out the window and then went out for the day came back to our room at 10ish only to find more flies, I had to call the manager up with fly killer to kill them all. On their website it says bar open til 10.30pm, there was live music until 11.30pm which we wasn’t notified about and wouldn’t have minded but our rooms were completely unsound proofed so we could every word of every song as if we were in the pub watching. On their website it says live music some Saturdays check facebook. I’m not on Facebook, I didn’t go on their website because I booked through booking.com. They knew I had two young children and we were a family, and would be expecting to sleep, they also know their rooms not sound proofed so they could’ve contacted us prior to our stay to let us know and we would’ve stayed elsewhere. Their website offers front door below our room was being banged every time someone went in or out of the pub this went on til 12.40am and every time door banged radiator vibrated in our room. The hotel refused to compensate us. Booking.com are just as useless and so I’ve gone through credit card. Absolutely would not recommend this place, it’s a joke!

My Partner and I have just visited your Coffee Shop in Tesco Store in Sudbury Suffolk and were served by a young lady by the name of Izi. She was a delight and the sort of person you need to keep. Made our day. Thank you

We have just had an excellent 3 night stay at the Black Lion and wanted to thank all the lovely staff for giving us such an enjoyable experience. They are a true team who work together so well meeting the needs of all who pass through their door with apparent ease, calmness and confidence. They get the balance between friendliness and professionalism absolutely right. Our room was very comfortable, clean and well-appointed with windows looking out across the village green and beyond. Our meals have been delicious and the pub/bar area with its log fire was comfortable and welcoming. Location, food, drinks, service and accommodation all come highly recommended!

We ordered food, jacket potatoes and it was appalling. The potatoes were cold and there was blue roll stuck to rim of the microwaved insipid bean chilli that I ordered. When I confronted staff with my opinion of the food there was no apology or contrition, just a sarcastic thank you. Absolutely piss poor food and service.
