The Watering Can Cafe Bistro in Babergh

We ordered food, jacket potatoes and it was appalling. The potatoes were cold and there was blue roll stuck to rim of the microwaved insipid bean chilli that I ordered. When I confronted staff with my opinion of the food there was no apology or contrition, just a sarcastic thank you. Absolutely piss poor food and service.

Went there as a carer and was really disappointed with my lunch especially as I was paying full price. I ordered the jacket potato and cheese at almost £8 and the person I was supporting ordered the cheese sandwich at almost £6. So, not cheap. I asked whether mine came with a salad, and was told yes but that the coleslaw would be extra. When we received our order, the person I was looking after had their sandwich with extra salad and coleslaw compared to my small salad and no coleslaw. My potato was obviously warmed in the microwave as the skin was soft and the grated cheese had come straight out of a packet. I didn't feel that mine was good value and it was nothing special. Won't be returning.

Revolting food. Manager’s attitude just as revolting, she needs to improve her customer care skills Ordered caramelised onion quiche, when it arrived looked unappetising 🤮 cut into it and it looked like bits of rotten cabbage on bottom and tasted even worse and was only tepid Replacement prawn sandwich was totally tasteless, minute prawns, very watery sauce that soaked bread, chips not properly cooked. Needless to say was not eaten Avoid if you want decent food

The Cafe might not have a particularly inviting appearance but the standard of service and food was very high. The manager was both pleasant and very industrious and her attention to sanitisation between customer visits was exceptional. She had even made the delicious fruit crumble herself.

So re-assuring to be greeted with such clear instructions as to how the staff are conducting their service during Covid-19. The coffee and scone/cake we had were absolutely excellent.
