The best restaurants in Long Melford Babergh East of England

We stayed here for a couple of nights, while we were celebrating my friends 60th birthday party in a nearby village. Everything was great, room was fine, food good. Our only complaint was, when we returned from our friend's party between 10-10.30 pm on the Saturday night, the place was closed and in darkness. For a Saturday night, we were shocked, and as residents I was looking forward to a night cap. Unfortunately that wasn't to be. Such a shame, as if there was a night porter who could have fulfilled our request, would have given it a top review. All the staff were lovely.

Second visit here with family and it was amazing again. Such a friendly welcome, very clean and nicely spaced tables. Gluten free options are plentiful so it was difficult choosing but highly recommend the chicken in tarragon sauce. I had initially chosen the fish and chips but being a coeliac was informed that they use the same fryer for both batters and so to avoid cross contamination I chose the chicken instead. Really great to have such care and attention to detail…which was really appreciated. Highly recommend and wish everyone continued success.

Usually I come here and the service is lovely staff are friendly. I arrived I have two girls with there mouths wide open looking at there phone. They eventually look up I order a drink they don't have that in stock. So I ordered a latte got given a dirty look and told not to be rude. I walked out im not paying for that "service" staff need an attitude adjustment.

Wonderful visit to this lovely pub. Super friendly staff, good food and drink at reasonable prices, plus all the fun of bingo. Great place - well worth a visit.

Our bi annual gathering to celebrate rememberance, and once again really impressed with the level of personal service, the staff in the bar were amazing, sarah and her colleagues were really on the ball, helpful and attentive whilst dealing with a very busy early evening. 5 star service...and the food went to shabby either!!@ Gary. We nipped in for lunch on a Sunday. The carvery was amazing and was a reasonable price. We also had a lovely pudding. The waitressing staff were so kind and attended to us very quickly. We will definitely visit again!
