Good selection of bread types - including the now almost extinct Cottage Loaf. Delicious large flaky pastry sausage rolls which we had for tea, together with two sweet cakes. The sourdough loaf is in the freezer awaiting the weekend. If we lived here this would be our regular bakery.

It was lovely to find the shop has moved across the road to lager premises, this gives them a chance to display their wonderful products. Whilst staying at the Bull I recommended it to several other guest and they all returned with bags full, in fact one gentleman said he would have liked to purchase everything in the shop

Recently bought sliced bread presumably baked on the premises.Reminded me of the cheapest supermarket white bread and also bought two cakes. They were puff pastry with pink icing on top and what I thought was fresh cream, Inside the icing was awful and get this....the cream was not fresh it was that synthetic cream you get in processed cakes that lasts for ever. For an independent bakery in a quaint Suffolk village what a disappointment, absolute crap!!

Called in at Tanswells today for the first time to stock up for lunch, delicious fresh rolls, sausage rolls and a variety of cakes, such good value as well cannot believe the prices for such high standard food with friendly service. Not to be missed, will be calling again for our treats!

Came across this little shop when strolling through Long Melford and only went in for a small loaf of fresh bread but also came out with fresh fruit scones and cream cakes: all of which were delicious! Plenty of other choices available and I believe their were a couple of small interior tables available as well. We were served by a very pleasant gentleman who could not have been more welcoming.

Tanswell’s bakery is a local favorite for daily freshly baked artisan breads, cakes and pastries. It is also the go-to place for an assortment of delicious sandwiches. The business is family owned and operated utilizing family recipes. Their success has meant expansion of the baking operations moving across the street allowing for the display of a wider variety of deliciously tempting offerings in the shop.

Visit the pub for a band night recently and very disappointed in our experience. Band were fantastic but service from pub was appalling. The pub had advertised the evening as a live band and pizza night so would have surely staffed the pub appropriately but very much not the case-queues of people at the bar every time we went to get another drink and waiting nearly an HOUR AND A HALF for a pizza!!! If we had come out to the pub for a proper meal this would still be unacceptable but this was just for 2 pizzas of all things?!?! Really need to work on staffing as this is poor service by anyone’s standards. The worst part was that whilst we were in the long queue to place our order, a regular walked to the front of the queue and handed the barman his pizza order which was put through as a priority above those who had been waiting in line! Definitely in two minds now as to whether to return for the Beer Festival in August.

Lovely little place, log fire, polite landlady and a great selection of ales. Reasonably priced. Always a warm welcome.

I have meant to try the pie mash shop in Sudbury for ages but only got round to it today. I'm really sorry I didn't go before now as it was excellent. I only had a single pie and mash but it was plenty for me. The pie was perfect and the liquor was really good. I will definitely go back.

Such a lovely old country pub full of character and charm. The manager Emma is very warm and welcoming. The menu is extensive and I had trouble deciding what to have, I had the chicken curry that was very tasty and so much lean chicken in it. Lovely fluffy yellow rice and naan bread with mango chutney, very yummy. Definitely going to visit again soon
