Top beers always here, faultless changing selection, super service, log fires in thatched pub. Just need to watch the low ceilings! Astonishing value for the quality of ales.

A brilliant old fashioned pub where conversation is king! Fantastically friendly landlady who was very accommodating and a couple of roaring fireplaces upon entry, what more could you want. Great prices and a nice stream of punters on a Sunday evening which was nice to see. We’ll be returning soon!

A true hidden little gem that has more history then any pub I've been to before. The landlady was kind, talkative and proud (rightly so) of her establishment. The prices were normal for any where never mind a southern village pub. Would highly recommend as it'll be the perfect stop for any hiker in the area.

FYI--landlady (who also mans the bar and touches all the drink and food) refuses to get vaccinated.

Like stepping back in time. Beautiful old building lovingly maintained. The garden is peaceful and the delicious beer is clearly kept with care.

What at absolute gem. Time has stood still at this very traditional country local - no wall-to-wall sports, jarring "musak" gaming machines or any other distractions. Just good honest country folk, good conversation, friendly landlady and great beer. Long may it continue.

Lovely little village pub with friendly locals and my husband days the beer is good. He should know! Tonight there was a live performance by a poet called Luke Wright. It was brilliant, funny, witty, entertaining, clever and thought provoking all in an hour which left plenty of drinking time. Sad to say last evening of entertainment in the marquee until warm weather again next year.

I recently stopped by The Pit Stop Cafe, and it was an absolute delight. The place is immaculately clean and the bacon sandwich was one of the best I’ve ever had. What made the experience even better was the lovely lady working there. She was all smiles, incredibly warm, and made me feel so welcome. It’s clear she loves what she does, and it adds such a special touch to the place. If you’re passing by, do yourself a favour and pop in for a —you won’t be disappointed!

We popped in here for lunch, was told service would be about an hour, as they were busy, but actually our food arrived very quickly! Great pub for large groups wanting food. Large garden, dog friendly.

Breakfast was very disappointing, small portions especially the baked beans. Small single slice of bacon which was rock hard, eggs were nuked, sausage dry, won’t eat here a second time.
