Simply Divine! This was our 2nd visit, choosing to dine here for Valentines Day, and yet again, it was absolutely fantastic. The fare was nothing short of divine. My Calves Liver was cooked to perfection as was my partners Dover Sole. The wine list caused us headaches, as the well put together selection left both of us uncertain what to plump for, as pretty much all looked so palatable. If you are a Fine Dining Foody, you must try here as it will not disappoint. Bravo Scutchers, see you again soon.

Had a fabulous afternoon Tea today! The ladies were so friendly and tentative, the food was incredible and in such abundance! Left feeling very full of delicious treats! Definitely will be returning in the new year!

Food fantastic especially the Sunday roast

Chips n Chopstix is hands down the best fish and chips takeaway in town. The fish is always fresh and moist, with a crispy coating that's not overly greasy. The chips are thick, fluffy, and perfectly salted. The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are affordable. The staff is friendly and the service is efficient. Whenever I have a craving for fish and chips, Chips n Chopstix is my top choice.

We stayed here for a couple of nights, while we were celebrating my friends 60th birthday party in a nearby village. Everything was great, room was fine, food good. Our only complaint was, when we returned from our friend's party between 10-10.30 pm on the Saturday night, the place was closed and in darkness. For a Saturday night, we were shocked, and as residents I was looking forward to a night cap. Unfortunately that wasn't to be. Such a shame, as if there was a night porter who could have fulfilled our request, would have given it a top review. All the staff were lovely.

Second visit here with family and it was amazing again. Such a friendly welcome, very clean and nicely spaced tables. Gluten free options are plentiful so it was difficult choosing but highly recommend the chicken in tarragon sauce. I had initially chosen the fish and chips but being a coeliac was informed that they use the same fryer for both batters and so to avoid cross contamination I chose the chicken instead. Really great to have such care and attention to detail…which was really appreciated. Highly recommend and wish everyone continued success.

We love this pub to go to sometimes either weekly or fortnightly . We can park easily at the pub . The pub has a lovely atmosphere , we are always greeted politely and with a smile . Customer service is "top notch " always regardless of what staff our on duty or how busy they are . The food is absolutely fabulous , always presented well and served by the wonderful staff . We cannot recommend this pub enough , in fact it's the only one we travel too being 13 miles one way .

I certainly don’t recommend this place if you’re looking for somewhere with a warm, welcoming atmosphere! A distinct lack of heating and a fire that resembled a candle, combined with the abrupt attitude of the lady behind the bar, resulted in a cold, atmosphere-less lunch. Fortunately the food was ok and the cheery male staff made it slightly better- she could take lessons from him in terms of customer service.

We were 5 for Christmas day lunch, and we had an amazing time. We had drinks on the sofa in the bar on arrival and were then seated in the dining room facing the green. The staff were brilliant, they were friendly and attentive and the food was absolutely delicious and of a high quality. As you would expect eating out on Christmas day comes at a premium, but totally worth it , thank you Black Lion and Merry Christmas.
