One of the better restaurants in Elveden. Christine, who looked after us, was a gem, both helpful and amusing. She was very attentive to our son with learning difficulties and also to our toddler granddaughter The food was very nice too.
Paula was brilliant. She was clearly very busy (Friday night) bit explained this to us and ensured that we had drinks. Great food and service. Thank you!
A lovely old pub! Would very much recommend, the food was very well priced and decent portions. Service was a little slow but we were a big party of 12
FINALLY an authentic Italian restaurant. Many years living in Cambridge and we just discovered this place and had a lovely experience. The service was superb, the food was incredible and we even got a bread basket. We will definitely be back again!
Vegan options: many! I had the risotto e piseli (risotto with peas) - a generous plate of creamy risotto. Super recommended.
I'll be back to try more dishes :)
This restaurant is amazing. Upon entry to the bar area, we were welcomed by the owner who took us through to the restaurant and seated us by the window. We were promptly asked what drinks we’d like and the cocktails were presented beautifully.
I had the 10oz fillet steak medium rare and my daughter had the line caught cod loin with chips. The food was top quality all with freshly sourced ingredients because it left us feeling full. The portions sizes are extremely generous. The apple tart dessert is absolutely delicious and so well presented on the plate.
Would highly recommend and definitely go back there.
If you’re looking for upmarket food in lovely ambient surroundings then this is your place.
Nice service and tasty food (and free dessert) but the spice threshold was much lower than expected. The family, including 2 adults and 2 teenagers ordered from the 'medium' section of the menu but we found the food to be only 'mild' with no kick, even the teenagers, which was a bit disappointing. Next time we shall probably order from the 'hot' section and see what happens!
Had the worst chicken kormas known to mankind. Chicken was tougher than Hulk Hogan and the korma sauce was the same consistency as water. I called the restaurant to give them a chance to put things right and was told that I was wrong. Apparently he “watched the kormas being made and they were cooked to perfection”. Not only if the food terrible, the guy is a liar. Worst Indian restaurant in Hertfordshire. How this is ranked 8th in Broxbourne I’ll never know. Jokers.
