We have just finished cod and chips for three people and wow! Best fish and chips we have had in ages, was so fresh and delicious.
Ordered online and food was ready spot on time.
We will be back! Thank you
As the arranger I got there 20 minutes before our family party booking. Good I did as the 3 tables that we had booked and reserved weeks before was not ready by a long way.
Next the young staff of 4 did not know how to open a tab for the table. Eventually I got one but when other family members order drinks there was confusion of if a tab was already open.
2 family members requested a cocktail drink but after 10 minutes still not arrived. I approached the bar to see what the issue was, and they said they had never made a cocktail before. They eventually arrive.
When the mains started to arrived we had no utensils and no condiments on the table. All mains eventually came within 5 minutes, although I had to go to the bar as a side dish did not arrive. They said it have been forgotten.
4 people ordered a desert from the specials board only to be told that it was not available. Why was it on the specials board?
Some ordered the deserts cakes in the display cabinet but the staff has problems finding out the price of them. Eventually they fetched a chef from the kitchen to find out.
When the deserts came, again we had no Cutlery. When they decided to bring some spoons it was literally thrown on the table.
I had to bite my tongue a few times so not loose my temper as I didn't want to ruin the experience of the family party.
Luckily they got the bill right in taking off my deposit.
Overall a very poor experience.
Would not recommend a Saturday afternoon with family.
There needs to be trained staff that care and a manager present to rectify any issues.

Ordered some food to share with the family and was left sorely disappointed. The first time a few months back was a let down but we decided to give it a chance and ordered again today.
This time we ordered a lemon chicken, a sweet and sour chicken, and a beef in black pepper sauce.
The lemon chicken left a rather sour taste in my mouth...there was a large chunk of chicken which was cremated in a thick crusty batter and then chopped into a few large pieces and then tossed into what was supposed to be lemon sauce but tasted mainly of lemon juice, probably with the intention of destroying our taste buds.
The sweet and sour sauce was pretty ok. But the same crusty chunks of poultry was thown in too. There was no care and pride in their food. The meat was rubbery and chewy. Our girls who ordinarily loved sweet and sour left most of their dinner uneaten.
I could not taste the pepper spices in the pepper sauce. Maybe my tastebuds died in shock after the attack of the lemon sauce. The beef slices were chewier than rubber tyres and the sauce was bland and unremarkable.
Very disappointing.
Food is great but treatment of staff is atrocious, the staff are made up of students at the college who work without pay, makeing money for the restaurant. DO NOT TIP the money does not go to the kitchen staff, or waiter's

Food, for the money can't complain to be fair
Woman serving couldn't do maths though and all of us (3 groups) noticed at least £20 extra on our receipt to comment and correct seemed the woman must of been doing it purposely to rob folk!
One of staff was quite rude and angry don't know whatever had happened before we got there but she was very snappy and unpolite aswell as slamming and banging about luckily as more customers entered she sort of "pulled the reigns" I reckon with a different member of staff it could hit 5 stars although I'll stick to my 4 for the rudeness
Excellent little cafe in Hemswell Antiques.
Fabulous food & refreshments.
Sensible money.
Hemswell Antiques is a great place to visit, allow a whole day.
Everything you’d ever wish to see.
What a lovely find. The food was delicious & the staff were really helpful. We didn't know it was plant based but as I'm vegan it was perfect for me. My partner isn't vegan & he was raving about the curried tofu on flatbread.
We had friends visiting and wanted to take them somewhere with great food. We booked a table for 7.30pm and upon arrival were told the table wasn’t ready so we took a seat in the bar to wait. After 15 minutes we were taken to our table. To cut a long story short we were provided with poppadoms as a starter after around 30 minutes and had to wait until 9.30pm (2 hours after arriving) before the main course arrived. By this point we were fed up with waiting and our friends couldn’t eat their mains as it was too late into the evening. So we ended up leaving after a two hour visit where we had just 2 poppadoms each and a doggy bag. The experience ruined what should have been a great night out with close friends. Disappointing as the food really is excellent if you can actually get it.
Came here with the family and enjoyed a full English. The food was cooked to perfection and the waiting staff very friendly. Top marks all round guys, thanks very much!
My husband and I are regular visitors to The Snug Cafe, as you could say it's our local. We sometimes go for breakfast as my husband loves their full English. We are always made to feel welcome, the decor is nice and comfortable, and in good weather it's lovely to sit outside.
