Service is shocking! Politely asked if we were to order at the till and with a shocking response from the girl behind the counter “nope we come to you” said with attitude. Then approached with our drinks “a coke for whoever” - absolutely appalling attitude from someone who needs a reality check. Place is dingy and dirty too, coffee is reasonable about the only saving grace really! Use the cafe in building one in future, wouldn’t recommend this place to a rat

Ordered soup and a coffee, after a wait of over 25 minutes they arrived. Couldn't believe the soup was made from a packet ( cup a soup ) and the coffee was awful. Crockery was old, not washed properly and stained. Woman at next table asked for a clean cup. Waitress wasn't pleased and snatched the cup without saying anything. Talking to other customers outside they were also unhappy with service time, quality of food ( bland, dry and all out of freezer) and the unfriendly manner of the older waitress who was serving at the time ( 1:00 14 Feb ) . There are other cafes in the antique shops on site what we have previously used and can't fault them. Very disappointed and won't be going to that cafe again

No welcome greeting , smile or acknowledgment on arrival. Found a table for us , sat for 10 minutes before someone came to take our order , sullen faced , not a glimmer of friendliness from her. She clearly hasn't been trained. Couldn't tell us what size a "small chips " portion was. She did say that the wait would be 20 - 25 minutes. We were prepared to wait. As we waited we noticed how grubby & shabby everything looked, we found dropped food under our table & bits of cress on the tablecloth. Our teas werd brought & we were glad to have a drink while we waited. We noticed at least 3 couples left who sounded disgruntled as we waited for our food to come. We waited & waited, half an hour.......35 mins, 40 mins, no sign of food. We caught the waitresses eye & asked if she could please find out how long our food was going to be. She returned ( still no smile or apology) to tell us that it's being prepared & won't be long. 10 minutes later it arrived . We mentioned to the grumpy looking woman that we'd had to wait 55 minutes. She replied "You could have walked out if you weren't happy !) No apology , no smile, no "enjoy your meal". We were polite to her & we were astonished to receive a relpy like this. The food was barely palatable ,either overdone & rubbery or pale & floppy. All could have been cooked within 10 minutes as chips, mozzarella sticks & brie bites are all pre prepared & only need 10 minutes cooking. Cold Quiche & salad with coleslaw hardly takes 55 minutes ! The place was fairley busy, but surely the anticipate this, not every table was occupied. All in all I wouldn't go again . We heard a few comments as we were leaving about the terrible service & the rude woman . I didn't leave a tip.....also they undercharged us . Last laugh .haha I was ready to leave but

Very busy cafe, staff are very busy and try to keep up with demand. Cafe menu of sandwiches, chips, jacket potatoes, possibly a toastie or two and there’s a selection of cakes. Seating isn’t the comfiest but then again you’re not spending masses of time in there. Food is honest and reasonably priced. Just have to accept it’s very busy and may have to wait a little bit for orders to come through. We have been a couple of times whilst visiting the antiques centres and we’ve found the cafe to be exactly what it says on the tin.

Started off fine, enjoying my baked potatoes whilst waiting for my husbands pie to arrive. Cut the potatoe at the bottom and it left a row streak on the plate, bottom of the potatoes brown in my opinion dirt , couldn't finish it . Found this place cheap & cheerful though the service was painfully slow the day we were there. The room was full and serving lunch specials - steak pie which we ordered. It took nigh on an hour to arrive which wasted too much time as we visited to see the antiques/bric-a-brack not the inside of the cafe.

We stopped here for lunch on our visit to the antiques centre. There is a good choice on the menu from snacks to full meals as well as daily specials. We had fish and chips at £6 including a hot or cold drink. For this price we did not expect much but it was excellent with a large piece of fresh fish in a beautiful crispy batter. As everything is prepared to order there can be a wait of 20 minutes but this was not an issue for us. The only downside is that the cafe is small so it can be difficult getting a table even on a week day.

We had lunch on the 3rd January at the Decodence Cafe inside Astra Antiques Centre at Hemswell Cliff. It was our first visit after failing to find space in another restaurant nearby, and I'm glad that we stumbled across it. The Cafe is small but perfectly fitted out with quite a number of four-seater tables. We all had various 'lite-bites' ranging from a toasted sandwich, to paninis and a jacket potato. The drinks arrived quickly and the food soon followed on. It's pleasant to find that you still have tea to drink when the food arrives as so often the speed of delivery is such that the drinks have been drunk long before the food is offered. Not in this case. The cafe was busy so good on the two members of kitchen staff for their speed. The toasted sandwiches and paninis were hot which is half the battle won, and the jacket potato had a substantial topping of both beans and cheese. In fact there was so much my sister couldn't finish it all off! We all agreed that we would be visiting this cafe restaurant again over our usual haunt where we couldn't get seated. Very well worth a visit!

I visit probably 3 times a month. The food is always excellent, the prices are very reasonable, and the staff always very pleasant and helpful. It can get busy when understandably service starts to drag a bit.For that reason only, I suggest what I think is a helpful tip.Train staff to always return to the kitchen with something in their hands and never empty.Either take back empties or fresh orders, it demonstrates eye for detail, pride and customer care.Regularly I'll sit at a table ready to order, my table cluttered with the previous customers' plates ... and staff will deliver an order to someone and then walk past me without a glance, intent on returning to behind the counter. When asking if someone is ready to order, it's best not to just approach with a notebook ready and enquire. Invest 10 seconds in piling empties ready for carrying back and then wiping the table. Use that time to establish rapport ..."Hello, how are you today, having a good time, are you ready to order?" Until that happens customers can feel invisible.Go from strength to strength!!

We normally call during the week and before 12, so don't have a problem getting a table. If you call during the weekend it might be difficult to get a place. The food although alright, is nothing special, but, it's not expensive so a good meal for the price. My only complaint would be the lack of space between tables, which makes it difficult getting in and out. It does seem to remind me of a 1990's cafe and perhaps could do with updating. The staff are pleasant and happy to help with any requests.

We have been regular customers of this cafe for several years and have stopped off en route to other places as it was so nice and we have even gone so far as to recommend it to friends. It was therefore a great disappointment to visit there today to find that we were totally ignored It wasn’t that busy We were sitting there waiting to be served and another family arrived The waitress was messing around at the counter sorting out some paperwork and messing around with the cakes We were annoyed to find that after another 10 minutes or so the waitress then proceeded to take the family orders therefore still ignoring us. With that we put our coats on and left. Such a shame as we will no longer be recommending nor will we be visiting again in the near future.

Visit this venue quite regularly and always have lovely food, well presented by pleasant and helpful staff. The salads are the best we have had when it comes to garnishes as these tend to be hit and miss at other venues. The Jacket potatoes are always well cooked and a wide choice of fillings available. The breakfasts are in great portions if you can eat it all as there is no room on the plate for anything extra. Sausages are a bit tasteless and a change of make or supplier might be of benefit though as this really spoils what is a great 'Full English'.Great surroundings set in the 20s/30s give great ambiance to this small and delightfulCafé which is spotlessly clean in every way.TOILETS! if you can call IT that are in the Antique's part of the building NON AT THE CAFE. One toilet for males and females and so old it is an Antique itself. Not very clean and so antiquated its like something out of the 1920's. I am sure this does not meet the law regarding food establishments and needs to be addressed very quickly before the café is closed down by the Local Council!

At a bit of a loose end yesterday we decided to take a short trip into Lincolnshire to visit Hemswell Antique Centre. We have been several times, but never to “Astra Antiques”. On this occasion however we did and were very pleased to stumble across DecoDence Café which is rather tucked away inside this unit.I really wasn’t prepared for the décor, stunning may sound a bit over the top but it truly was. A huge amount of style, effort, and attention to detal has been put into the interior of this establishment and the whole place is spotlessly clean. We went in for a toasted Panini with Salad garnish, but my wife ended up with Ham (cold) Egg and Chips and I had, in spite of good intentions, the home-made Corned Beef and Potato Pasty, Chips and Mushy Peas (on their “Specials” board) together with a coffee and a pot of green tea. Both were promptly and cheerfully served by the staff who were a delight, the quantity was just right and quality excellent. The whole thing including an extra can of Ginger Beer cost a very reasonable £11.75p!The only slight negative was it was difficult to assess atmosphere and service if busy as the Café was empty as indeed the whole site was, most unusual for this antique centre. There is no reason to suppose however, from our experience, that this would differ materially under busier circumstances. We will be going back to sample their delicious looking cakes though, together with a good range of coffees and teas and, if antiques/collectables are your thing (or even if not), you should seek out this tasteful and tasty little gem before too long!

Went here with my husband and a friend for post-parkrun breakfast/brunch. Although vegan options were not marked up on the menu, we asked about vegan options and the lady was very accommodating. She was very careful and checked with us about allergies. Great attention to detail and care, even checking about chocolate sprinkles on the capuccinos and assuring us that there was no milk in the bread they used for toast. Impressed as most places don't go to that extent. Very pleasant experience and great full English (vegan) breakfast. Highly recommend!

We sadly lost a family member and contacted the Black Horse to host the wake. From point of contact with Josh to the actual event, was dealt with professionally and with sympathy. On the day it went smoothly and we were welcomed warmly. We were taken care of the entire time and the buffet that was laid out for us was beyond expectations. Even with a late add on of numbers, which was despite the lateness not a problem. The supply of constant tea and coffee was welcomed by our guests. Cannot fault or thank the team enough for their attention and care of our family in a difficult time.
