The Black Horse Nettleham in West Lindsey

We sadly lost a family member and contacted the Black Horse to host the wake. From point of contact with Josh to the actual event, was dealt with professionally and with sympathy. On the day it went smoothly and we were welcomed warmly. We were taken care of the entire time and the buffet that was laid out for us was beyond expectations. Even with a late add on of numbers, which was despite the lateness not a problem. The supply of constant tea and coffee was welcomed by our guests. Cannot fault or thank the team enough for their attention and care of our family in a difficult time.

We’ve just had Sunday roast. It was really good, the selection of veg was good, there were plenty, and they were freshly cooked for us. Delicious roast beef and homemade Yorkshire puddings, stuffing, roast and new potatoes. Followed by a homemade cheesecake. We’ll be going back.

Fantastic breakfast at The Black Horse this morning. Quality ingredients, well cooked and served promptly. I had full English with locally sourced sausages and bacon which were very tasty. My daughter had the veggie breakfast and was delighted by the inclusion of Halloumi, and my wife had a gluten free veggie breakfast. Very impressed that they could cater for all our needs. Nice atmosphere too.

We have just had a wonderful Sunday Lunch at the Black Horse Nettleham Lincolnshire. It tasted just like my mother had cooked it which is high praise indeed. We recommend this pub to all.

Called in as it advertised Good Food . Soon apparent there was no food, only a chalkboard advertising a Sunday Carvery, Out of gesture I bought a drink & sat listening to what can only be described as foul mouthed rhetoric between it's locals. Not a pleasant experience, not one to recommend.

Booking for 17 people cancelled 2 weeks in a row, initially offered a 50% discount if we ate here the following Saturday. 3 hours before our booking we had a call to advise the chef was unwell for a second Saturday running. Yet Sunday lunch for the next day is still being advertised! Something very odd happening here!! Will never book here again, was a special birthday meal had family travelling over and plans have been cancelled last minute twice! Shocking customer service.

It is with great disappointment and frustration that I recount the abysmal experience my family endured at the hands of the Black Horse Pub. What was supposed to be a joyous celebration for my mother's 76th birthday turned into a heartbreaking fiasco, all thanks to the utter incompetence and disregard exhibited by this establishment. Not once, but twice did the Black Horse Pub manage to dash our hopes and ruin our plans. Despite meticulously arranging a gathering of 17 people from various corners of England for my mother's special day, the pub failed miserably in honoring its commitment. First, they canceled the reservation with a mere few days notice, already causing significant inconvenience and disappointment. However, the second cancellation, delivered at the last minute without any warning, was the final straw that shattered my mother's heart and left our entire family in disbelief. To have such a significant event disrupted not once, but twice, due to the Black Horse Pub's sheer negligence is simply inexcusable. It's appalling that they would so callously disregard the efforts and emotions of their customers, particularly when dealing with a gathering of this magnitude for a beloved elder. The lack of professionalism displayed by the Black Horse Pub is astounding and indicative of a deeply flawed management system. It's clear that customer satisfaction and loyalty are not a priority for this establishment. They have not only lost our patronage but have also tarnished their reputation irreparably in the eyes of everyone who was affected by their incompetence. In conclusion, I strongly advise anyone considering dining or hosting an event at the Black Horse Pub to proceed with extreme caution or, better yet, find an establishment that values its customers and understands the importance of honoring commitments. As for my family, we will not soon forget the disappointment and distress inflicted upon us by this woefully inept

Very disappointing Sunday lunch with thin slice of re heated beef & vegetables. Drinks were served after the food & had to ask 3 times. Really wanted to support local business but unfortunately we won't be returning

Really good value food for the money, drinks good price and friendly place. Well worth a visit.

Had a very nice lunch of Lasagne, salad, chips and garlic bread today from the Pensioners Lunchtime Menu £6.95p., while my husband had home made beef pie with veg. A nice treat to go out on a cold but sunny winters day. Wishing Josh and the team all the best in their new venture.

The new management Josh & Clare have recently taken over this lovely cosy village pub. They're working so hard to get the village community together and launching food this week! Traditional Pub food including breakfast 2 days a week and a Sunday Carvery, Restaurant is being redecorated and the pub is overall work in progress as they slowly stamp their mark on this delightful little gem. Dog Friendly and friendly welcome for all. Well worth a visit. Sky Sports, pool and darts are also available.

This place has new management. Hands on couple makes it family friendly and unique. Atmosphere is conducive to any occasion. Patrons are hands on, frirndly and ultimstely professional. Thst it is frequented by the locals makes it stand out. Cant wait for the food to enhance its obvious success. Hope it is authentic, American themed food ie buffalo wings, hamburgers, etc. Cant wait . You deserve great success as you ard a couple who are people centred.

Closed, looks like it went out of business. Either that or refurbishment in progress. Either way no sign giving details so if considering a visit would give it a few months to see if it reopens

Enjoyed a Sunday lunch. Great to have the option of a small dinner, leaving plenty of space for dessert! Coeliac options catered for.

We had tasty starters and the Fillet Steak sharer, followed by yummy desserts. Lovely Staff, we will definitely return next time we visit Nettleham. (Hoping this will be in the near future)

Went for a meal on Sunday and the food was lovely and the service excellent will definitely call again and we wanted to try somewhere different as we normally eat in Bawtry and thanks to the staff who were nice too

Called in this evening with friends for an early dinner. We had a lovely meal and the service was friendly and attentive. They have some South African dishes on the menu and I tried a beef and lamb stew - Potgee? Porjee? Whatever it was called it was absolutely delicious. The hanging kebabs and sticky toffee pudding were great as well. The bill was very reasonable and the place was full when we left. Always a good sign.

Lovely pub in the heart of the village. A great selection of drinks and the cask ales have been awarded Cask Marque certification as well.

Lovely Sunday lunch. Nice they do a small option. I had the small option with roast beef and my husband had the duo of meat roast with beef and pork. Puddings were nice. Chocolate Creme brûlé was yummy. Highly recommend and will be back.

Four of us booked for Sunday lunch. When we arrived there was no evidence of our booking except the confirmation email the pub had sent the previous week. Unsettling but there was room for us so no great problem. We sat down and sat, and sat for some time until we had to flag down one of the servers to take a drinks order. The menu had a few nice quirks like a sosatie stater which included pieces of boerewors sausage. Great. The main course was a choice of roasts, all of which were tasty and plentiful. However, the parsnips were undercooked and took a bit of work. All in, including two course and drinks for four people was £99. If you are looking for a casual dining experience this is probably the spot for you. Unfortunately we were looking for a bit more.

We went on Friday night for a meal which was first class, we all had something different, the mussels were excellent, the cobbler was so tasty, the ribs and wings were perfect and the South African stew was fantastic, the food here never disappoints , the menu is varied so you don’t get bored, dessert was Mmmmmmm the biscoff cheese cake was so yummy Well done to Stewart and Rachel for a well run pub We will definitely eat here on a regular basis

An impromptu visit resulted in one of the best Sunday roasts in the area Whilst out walking the dog we popped in for coffee but we’re in awe of the Sunday roast being served We asked if they could fit us in and the were only to happy to find a spot for us We both had the lamb which was cooked to perfection as was the veg. We both had desert to and the mango and pomegranate crumble is to die for The bar staff were very helpful And friendly too with all needs being catered for A credit to Stuart and Rachel

Went for a Christmas meal with the family to The Black Horse in the week before Christmas. Really enjoyable time had by all. The service and atmosphere at this pub are fantastic. Stewart and Rachel are attentive hosts. The menu gave a good range of options, for both adults and kids and we particularly enjoyed the delicious desserts. Highly recommended. We'll be back!

Dec 23d we had a family party of 25 people, we were greeted at the door and shown to our table, the food had been pre ordered and the waitress got everyone’s order right , the host and hostess were very attentive, the food was fantastic from fillet steak right down to the chicken goujons for the children, it was all hot and very well presented, prices are very reasonable for what you get, I would highly recommend it and will definitely go again thank you to you all

Recently visited on the Wednesday for steak night with my partner, we had such a lovely evening, the staff were brilliant and the food was amazing, the steak was cooked to perfection, we couldn’t of been happier. Will definitely be returning

Carvery: 2 meat option was great to see! I had belly pork and sirloin. Beautifully cooked. Whole family was very happy.

Came in last Sunday. Had the salmon starter and roast beef, excellent. Beef cooked perfectly pink. And garnishes all tasty and seasoned so well, I was with 4 members off my family and we will definitely be returning well done

We've been twice recently to eat at the Black Horse. Lovely atmosphere and amazing fillet steak which we will definitely be going back for again. Sunday lunch was beef and pork, both cooked really well and cauliflower cheese was fantastic. Highly recommended.

I’m not one to normally leave a review but I’ve recently had the pleasure of having a Sunday Roast at the Black Horse in Nettleham and it definitely didn’t disappoint! I’ve never eaten here before but we’d heard they have a new Chef with a new menu so we thought we’d give it a try. There was plenty to choose from on the menu (which is unusual for your standard Sunday roast) and we couldn’t pass up on the opportunity to order the Beef Wellington. It was cooked to perfection, the gravy was delicious and there were plenty of roast potatoes. It was definitely good value for money! Also, if you’re a fan of cauliflower cheese like me, make sure you order this as a side as you won’t be disappointed! It’s clear the chef has taken time to perfect the menu so we’ll definitely be visiting again soon. I’m very confused about some of the previous reviews on here because if you’re looking for good service, a welcoming atmosphere and great quality food then give this place a try!

The member of staff on duty when I visited was friendly and welcoming. Enjoyed a half of Guinness in the comfortable and sunny outside seating area overlooking the attractive green. There are two large televisions in the bar for the sports fans.

We all had the carvery which was fantastic value for money and delicious. All genuine home cooked food, not watery heated up from frozen nonsense. Generous portions and wonderfully friendly staff. Oh, and a decent point too. It's my new favourite carvery. Very highly recommended.

A new Meat Inc. venue. Not busy at the time. Food was only warm. Onion rings dripping in grease. Cola was flat. Very very disappointing after having a lovely meal at their old Caenby corner venue a few months earlier.

Has been my go to pub and restaurant for many years now. A family run business, very friendly and welcoming. The food is prepared and cooked by Greek chefs (from Rhodes), all authentic Greek dishes and generous in portion as well. Go on, give it a try, you won’t regret it.

Also known as Meat Inc. Excellent meal with friends. Well catered for children. Can strongly recommend the Katsu fries but loved it all.

Visited Meat Inc in their new location. Not quite the same atmosphere now they're in the back of a pub. Food good tho.

I visited MEATinc for the first time since it moved premises. Breakfast was delicious but took over 40 minutes to come out. Considering we were the only ones in the venue it was a long, boring wait. We had to ask to get another drink and the bill

Four of us went here for lunch, we were advised that the menu was reduced as they were in the process of changing it. There was only two veggie options, veggie sausages and a tomato and mozzarella salad. I went for the veggie sausage option with chips rather than mash and the others had gammon steak with chips and a fried egg. All the food was OK, but nothing out of the ordinary. We also had an issue with the Otter Ale, which unusually was not pleasant. The staff were polite and friendly and were happy to replace the beer for a different variety and change food items. It would be interesting to try again to see if a fuller menu helps, but on this occasion we weren't too impressed.
