just had small fish and chips foet lunch...lady serving behind counter was lovely and friendly...had a marital trying to get my husband to have a bigger fish....think he wishes he had as the food was fabulous...soft fish with perfectly cooked batter..scrummy crispy chips🍟 😀...xxx

Called in for some lunch on 19th July. We used to live local and used Micks chippie so thought it would be to the same quality as it had been. How disappointing! I had a tray of chips and there must have been 18 chips on it, they were greasy and stale. Hubby had fish and chips, the fish was on but chips horrible, greasy and the oil smelt old. What a shame as this used to be a good chippie. We will now give it a wide berth.

Called in here while on a journey break in Caistor. Great fish, chips and mushy peas. The fish and chips were freshly cooked. I find a lot of places have haddock that is quite dry, but here it was cooked to perfection, moist and delicious

Been to Micks lot's of time's when on holiday nearby , We are here April 22nd and cant wait for 1630 hrs , that's 4.30 pm , His fish n Chip's are the best , The staff are great . Mick used to fry here but has another place nearby the wife has a normal fish n chip's , i have just two large fish lightly battered , maybe small chip's , If in the area . Micks in in the square , well worth a visit ,

Mick seems to have changed his type of potato? Currently his chips seem too big, too fluffy in the middle. Mine were undercooked too. I have been going to Micks since the day it first opened and their chips until now have . been great. Their fishcakes ARE and always have been, outstanding! 5 stars again when he improves on chips. Make them thinner and more solid throughout and cooked until brown

Food is lovely however some servers are plain jarring and rude. Need to learn how to have better customer service.

After hearing many good things from work colleagues I visited for lunch last week…. Seems my work colleagues are poor food critics….Chips had a chewy outside/skin rather than crispy (tasted old like they’d been sat). Drinks £1.20 for a can 🤦🏻 and regular chips nearly two quid a bag 😳! Will be trying Savages in Caistor next time, Micks have set a low bar indeed

Went in on the off chance, after driving home from Lowestoft. It’s the best fish and chips I’ve had in a very long time. Great service, small portions if you choose. Best in area

The medium tea time fish chips and peas special was superb. The quality was outstanding,and had change from a tenner for two meals. I have paid almost double this for similar locally,and of inferior quality, well worth the ride out from Brigg

Food is good but small portions of chips due to being measured out on a tray. Has become more expensive over the last few years. The specials are particularly small and not the biggest of fishcakes like they used to make.

EXCELLENT - Visiting the area (from Saddleworth) looking for a property... each of our visits ended by having fish and chip supper before the 2 hour drive back. Tried the best in Louth, Market Rasen, Waltham and villages in between. Micks at Caistor have been consistently the best. We have now found our next home and will be a regular visitor to Micks.... even tho it’s 10 miles away!

Been a couple of times and enjoyed it. Went tonight - tried to phone order through as it was for 7 people but they wouldn’t take it and just told us to go in. They took the order for 5 fish & chips and 2 sausage & chips. The lady wrapping them said I’ll throw a couple of fish cakes in as 2 of the fish are small. Got them home and there was a portion of fish and chips missing. Seems that they knew they were one short but instead of being honest, tried to fob us off with fishcakes disguised as a good will gesture! We won’t be going back. Really poor service.

We used the chippy in Caister while the boys were fishing at Caister lakes it was great to provide a hot and cheap evening meal for us all with out having to cookThe fish was fresh white and crisp and the chips weren't soggy so would use again

What an absolute gem, the fish is superb and the home made chips are delicious. Very good value as well, you can have fish and chips for £3 or 2 fish cakes and chips for £2.50, excellent value for money, and the staff are lovely and friendly. We are certainly going to be regulars here. If you are hungry you can have a large fish for £4 and it is large as well , the fish is very fresh.

It's ok. Not bad... Just really tight with chips,,,, I didn't mind I'm dieting. The only take out chippy in the UK where your guaranteed to loose weight. Potato miser

Going here is a real treat. Beautifully fresh fish perfectly cooked to take away. Very pleasant service from experienced staff, spotlessly clean with an vintage feel, I highly recommend.

Best fish and chips in the area.

I live in the area so visit Caistor sometimes. I have been to this chip shop a couple of times but I find the chips just that tad underdone for my personal liking and when I have been there was a lady seemingly training a young boy and she seemed a little snippy to me. He was a youngish chap of around 15-16 I would say and trying his hardest but you could see that he was uncomfortable and stressed because of the way he was being spoken to. This made me very uncomfortable and not something I want to feel I am contributing to so I now go elsewhere.

Was good when we first started going here 4 years ago, now chips dont seem cooked enough are very soggy, now are the worst fish and chips ever had, fish cakes tasteless, and mushy peas not great, their shop in laceby by far superior fish and chips well worth driving to laceby for decent fish and chips

Recommended to go by a friend I was staying with. £2.75 for a lovely portion of perfectly cooked fish and chips. Still piping hot when I got them back home 4 miles away. Friendly staff, excellent value for money.

I frequent Micks Chippy several times a week and always have the Fish & Chip Special at a wopping £2.75.Always nice and more than enough. You can't buy a sandwich for that. It was especially nice today. In fact I can't remember when I had a nicer piece. Fried to perfection, succulent and soft.I always ask for it on pater instead of a tray as nostalgia sets in. The staff are always accommodating and pleasant. I would give them an extra star if I could.

On Holiday at Caistor Lakes and just turned into the square , WHAT a find , these are the best Fish and Chips in Lincolnshire , I had the large fish and chips the first time , Same again 2 days after , plus an extra Large fish , and 2 days after that the same again , The fish is the freshest tastiest ever, The wife just had the small fish every time , The people in the shop are very friendly , It fish is all Haddock and delivered fresh every day ,

Nice place been here a few times good simple hot food sausages and chips fish and chips pie and chips the only thing they don't do is drinks a shame but the food is plentiful and always hot the staff are always polite and friendly

Always cook fish to order and chips are always just right. They place two chips on fish beforexwrapping to stop better from sticking. What a great attention to detail. Highly recommended.

My daughter and I stopped off in Caistor to pick up a portion of chips as a snack and we were amazed by how good these chips were! You know when you smell chips, and they smell so good, so you buy a portion, but they are just disappointing? Well these chips taste as good as they smell!

Went for lunch agin today, how they can produce an excellent portion of fish chips for £2:50 is beyond belief. Worth a visit, free parking 10 yards away, you can't go wrong.

This is my 5th visit since sept and I can honestly say this is a best fish and chip take away in Caistor it never fails the food is outstanding and beautifully done. The thing i love is great price of food and drink. The staff to are excellent and I got served very quickly last time, the staff are always polite and friendly. I just wish it was open more often. Thank you staff again for your excellent food not much oil or grease on food where I found else where. This take away is highly recommended its a must for any one passing through or who lives locally. Please go and give it a try

They do a special which is really competitively priced, and if you want a larger dish, they do one for about a fiver. Everything is always piping hot, and absolutely delicious. There's always a friendly service as well.

Excellent what more can I say quick service with a great happy friendly service and smile from staff excellent value for money big portions of chips which where well cooked to perfection fantastic take away one of my favs. Well done to the staff and thank you for the excellent customer service with a smile which was lovely to see. Popped in whilst passing Caistor and I have to say I had small Haddock and chips for £2.50 and they were really nice.

Popped in after doing the Tough 10 at Swallow, unfortunately the Swallow inn is now shut so stopped in Caistor on the way home, in the market place was micks chippy, it smelt good so give it a go... I had a small haddock and chips for £250 and honestly they were the best fish and chips I have had for a long time.

Tried this for the first time yesterday. We're F & Cs afficionados so are always nervous about trying a new place. Needn't have worried. Freshly cooked, lovely batter, home-cooked chips & fresh fish. Delicious & good value for money. Will be back.
