Visited on a Friday night, lovely staff and very fast service, got a big order in less that 10 minutes. Came home with a very nice surprise of a free sweet and sour chicken dish! Thank you so much! Would recomend😊
the staff are polite and very friendly, the vegetables were fresh and incredibly delicious. I was particularly impressed with the hummus, it was the best I've had and probably will ever have
I'm not quite sure what has happened here; my kebab is supposed to be beef but I have never seen beef this colour. Will be contacting customer services.
Fabulously decorated pub and great staff serving too, friendly and helpful
This pub, tucked away, is no longer Greene King but always has good beer, great wine all at a reasonable price and food too
We visited at Halloween 🎃 and the decorations were amazing. Well worth seeing 👀
Well worth a visit all round and welcoming decor, especially the comfy settees !
Went here today to have a birthday lunch with my daughter. Waited 10 minutes at the bar but no staff appeared. There were other people waiting to be served too. The pub was cold and either the aircon was on or the wind was blowing a gale through the pub. I even rang the pub to see if I could get anyone to come and serve but the phone wasn’t answered. We left and went to the Red Lion in Thornby and they were so helpful and attentive and the pub was warm too.
When we pulled up on the car park my first impressions were a little negative and to be honest we turned the car around to drive off to some other generic pub for food. The outside of the Tavern looks a little dated but we decided to give the place a try in the end. I'm so glad we did! I ordered the rib eye steak and scampi. It was delicious! lovely tender steak and the chips were lovely and chunky, beautiful meal. My wife and son really enjoyed their food as well. Pudding was apple and rhubarb crumble with double cream, probably the best meal out I've had in a long time. Moral of the story is don't judge a book by its cover, this is a true hidden gem! Will definitely be going back!
Found this little tea shop and it looked lovely. Friendly service. Cheese scone was lovely, warmed in microwave. Sausage roll, also warmed in microwave, was very greasy; probably better eaten cold. Both appeared to be home made. Decided against the cake as only two to choose from; we were going to order the cake platter and glad we didn’t as £14 for two choices would be disappointing. Unfortunately the view from our table was of the kitchen. I realise that this could happen anywhere but to see it is not good- the man decided to sort the bin. He took off the lid and arranged the full bag, then added some more rubbish to it. Yes I watched intently to see what he did next. Then he picked up a tea towel and began drying cutlery and putting it away. He did NOT wash his hands. He then went back to the bin and moved it, with the tea towel in his hand. He then came into the eating area and took an order. He then returned to the kitchen to start the order. At no point did he wash his hands and he was still using the tea towel that had most definitely touched the bin. We left and however cute this place looks, we will not be returning. They need to look at their hygiene rules and routines urgently.
I tried to call to place an order for a delicious chicken chow mein but the person on the phone was not responding and just hanging up. I felt mentally harassed because I couldn't get my chow mein. I heavily suggest you fire whoever was running the phone from 7-10 o'clock on the 7/2/25
Bistro 66 is a local diner serving mainly breakfast/brunch plus burgers, pizza etc in the evenings (including a Vegan menu). It's not fine dining but then it's not intended to be. We go there for coffee regularly and eat there occasionally. We recently had dinner with friends. The food was good and the service excellent. Five stars is well deserved on the basis that they do what they do very well! Congratulations to whoever chooses and trains the staff - they are always courteous, efficient, helpful and professional - even the younger staff members, who are often poorly trained in other places! Keep up the good work!
Lovely food and lovely service let down by bland decor and a cold restaurant. Not sure if the heating wasn’t coping or it had not been put on as there were very few people in due to it being a Sunday.
A shame as the dishes really were very tasty and there is very easy parking across the road in the carpark.
