Found this little tea shop and it looked lovely. Friendly service. Cheese scone was lovely, warmed in microwave. Sausage roll, also warmed in microwave, was very greasy; probably better eaten cold. Both appeared to be home made. Decided against the cake as only two to choose from; we were going to order the cake platter and glad we didn’t as £14 for two choices would be disappointing. Unfortunately the view from our table was of the kitchen. I realise that this could happen anywhere but to see it is not good- the man decided to sort the bin. He took off the lid and arranged the full bag, then added some more rubbish to it. Yes I watched intently to see what he did next. Then he picked up a tea towel and began drying cutlery and putting it away. He did NOT wash his hands. He then went back to the bin and moved it, with the tea towel in his hand. He then came into the eating area and took an order. He then returned to the kitchen to start the order. At no point did he wash his hands and he was still using the tea towel that had most definitely touched the bin. We left and however cute this place looks, we will not be returning. They need to look at their hygiene rules and routines urgently.

I love The Old Copper Kettle. Tracy is kind and welcoming, I adore her. Their sausage rolls are the best I’ve ever had. The pastry is flacky to perfection and the sausage meat is jam packed with flavour. I wish I bought two. I was meaning to share it with the dog but I ate most of it to myself, sorry Jasper 🙊 Today, I just took mine to go on a dog walk, but you can take your dog inside and there is a chair in the conservatory that you could fall asleep on. I highly recommend it here, especially if Tracey is working 💗

Visited here for an afternoon tea with a group of friends. It’s really nice inside, quaint and kind of oldy worldy with items for sale. Tiny little china cups and plates. Staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Tea was replenished each time we asked. The food was very nice and lots of it. I would definitely recommend the old copper kettle. Personally I would have preferred one piece of the home made cake instead of the small varying cakes on offer but maybe that’s me being greedy.

We can not thank Tracy and her staff enough for the wonderful experience we had today. We booked afternoon tea for 18 people for a 21st birthday after visiting for coffee and cake and being impressed by the service and food. We were allocated the snug and conservatory with direct access to the sun filled garden. We started with tea and coffee then served afternoon tea :sandwiches, freshly baked scones with jam and cream, homemade sausage rolls, cakes, brownies and crisps. The food was plentiful, well presented and delicious. We left with full bellies. decaff /allergies/vegans catered for without any fuss. The atmosphere and feel of the place is cosy and quaint whilst also feeling sophisticated. We can not recommend this family business enough. Friendly and attentive staff, nothing is too much trouble. We will definitely be visiting again.

I would like to thank all the staff at the copper kettle for saving the day!!My daughter Danielle turns 12 this week and I have left it to last minute to organise any celebrations as I wanted to see how everything was looking as a country and what we was allowed to do. The copper kettle originally booked us in for Saturday but after booking lockdown was announced. My daughter was so upset at the prospects of not having a party I set in to work. It was very easy and I found the copper kettle very accommodating even staying open later to give my daughter the best time. We arrived, my daughter and her 5 friends and were treated to a lovely grown up afternoon tea. I left so not to take them over the allotted 6 people rule. But when I returned you could hear the laughs and giggles through the place. I would like to thank all the staff for making this a fab party thank you so much!

A really old fashioned tea room. So much better than the Costa’s. The building is thatched and used to operate as a Dentist. They also sell local homemade crafts. Absolutely brilliant and recommend a visit if you are in the area

Taking the current situation into consideration, I was prepared to be sympathetic, tolerant and supportive in that this is a small, local business doing it’s best in unprecedented times. However, the service and food on this occasion was absolutely dreadful, and I would not recommend, or ever consider returning. The booking was for tea at 1pm. Whilst waiting to go in, the Manager told a customer that she didn’t have what that customer wanted, causing that customer to leave. The Manager then proceeded to tell others that ‘she needed to lie down, have a drink’, and complain about how busy she was. This was a portent of the rest of the visit. On telling one of the staff our name and that we had booked, we were told, oh, Tracey will come out. Tracey (presumably the manager who does not like to be busy), did not come out. There is hand sanitizer on entry, but nobody is bothering to make sure that guests use this. Another member of staff then said ‘you are in there’, there being a very small conservatory, and we were left to go through and find our own table. In accordance with current legislation, contact details were not taken, I am guessing that they would rely on the mobile number given on booking. There were three tables and a small sofa crammed into the small conservatory, I would have thought that they were too close to maintain current distancing rules, and being seated adjacent to the door to the back yard, staff and customers had to brush past constantly. Numerous Knick knacks adorn the shelf near the seats, making it very easy for mishaps (which is indeed what happened when I moved my arm, and a small vase crashed to the ground. Although the broken pieces were taken away, the mess was not cleared up, despite being noticed by two members of staff, thus causing a trip hazard).10 minutes after sitting down, our order was taken. It took a further 20 minutes for tea to arrive. It took ANOTHER HOUR for the food to arrive, and they needn’t have bothered.Despite asking for white bread only, sandwiches arrived with white and brown bread. The bread was dry, making it obvious that it had been sitting in the open for a while. The scones were burned, making half of them inedible. The cakes were dried out, and unappealing. The table adjacent were served their food only 20 minutes after being seated, and were apologised to by the older waitress for the wait!Unfortunately no such apology was forthcoming to us, with one of the younger waitresses asking if we were waiting to pay, not realising that we had drunk the tea and were still waiting for the food! So, all in all, bad service, bad food, unorganised, a Manager who doesn’t know the meaning of customer service, and a business that doesn’t seem to be following government guidelines. To be avoided at all costs.

After cycling to Crowland we wanted to find somewhere to have tea and cake. We found this place and went inside. Its a small cafe with probably 6 tables. We ended up ordering jacket potato with cheese and beans each with a pot of tea and a milkshake. We soon learned that there was only one portion of J-spud left so after a quick glance at the menu again I decided to go for the sandwiches. The waitress quickly said to us that we could have half-n-half each if we wished, this would be half the spud with the cheese and beans along with half a portion of the sandwiches each which we both liked the idea of. Well for us it was a winning combination as we both got a little bit of what we originally wanted. It was very tasty and although we wanted cakes initially after that meal we were full. This place does have a toilet but its an outside one in an adjoining yard but it is under lock and key so you have to ask for it. There is a sink with push down taps but they come up almost straight away. There was an electric hand drier but I could not get that to work so resorted to the paper towels. This place is worth a visit as there are lots of quaint items dotted around to look at.

My wife and I had walked into the restaurant at the close by Wyevale Garden Centre, intending to eat, but it looked bleak and depressing, with little in the way of snacks. So we left and drove through Crowland on our way back to Peterborough Hospital. We came across The Old Copper Kettle and went in. We hadn't noticed the closing time of 1600 when we entered and it was 1545. We were given a very friendly welcome and the staff were very helpful and friendly in accommodating us for tea and toasted sandwiches and told us there was no need to rush even when the time was fast approaching 1600. The toasted sandwiches were delicious. This is a lovely, quaint, tearoom with preserved fittings from the old chemist shop it once was. They have a pile of leaflets which give the full history of the tearoom for patrons to read and take away. The decor is very tasteful and there is an amazing collection of small, replica, old railway posters for various cities and resorts all over the country. This is a tearoom that we can definitely recommend. Excellent all round.

In the time we were there, they made a breakfast for one man (which was not on the menu, he just said it was a shame they didn't do it because he really felt like breakfast), went out for more eggs for yet another customer, served a few more "menu adjusters" and served about 12 normal patrons. Decided to reserve a table for myself and 2 other friends as my birthday get-together as had been told it is very small and doesn't have many tables. Lovely decor and food/drink we had was excellent. Although I hadn't mentioned to the proprietor on booking/reserving the table that it was for a special occasion, the waitress wished me a happy birthday when she saw I was opening the presents/gifts brought for my by my 2 friends. Imagine my surprise too when I was brought the slice of cake I decided on having at the end of our luncheon, that both the ladies working there had put a lighted candle on it both singing me a happy birthday, such a nice touch! Loved the hand painted wild flowers on the walls along with the many field mice, butterflies, snails & ladybirds. Will definitely be visiting again soon, hopefully will get to take my mother there as she will really love this place too.

A wonderful little tea room in the heart of historic Crowland. Thatched cottage with the internal walls painted by hand with scenes of meadows with butterflies and wildlife. A real gem with great service and great food. The home made cakes are delicious with a pot of tea of coffee. A must visit to be transported back in time whilst enjoying a bite to eat and drink.

Came upon this charming tea room quite by chance as we were driving through and in need of refreshment - so pleased we did. The best cup of tea we have ever had outside of our own home and the scone with jam and clotted cream was to die for!. The cafe is spotlessly clean and full of charm and character. The two ladies running the cafe could not do enough and were so friendly. Will certainly visit again. A hidden gem.

I live in Crowland and this place is my son (4yrs) and my Saturday morning visit for tea cake and tea. The staff are always friendly and charming and talk to my son. I never feel as if kids aren't welcome. As I live in Crowland I don't necessarily eat here other than the teacake but their cakes always look homemade and good and the food served looks good - no wilting salad leaf here! They have lots of regulars here so it has to be good..Please come and try it. You won't be disappointed.

We only had time for home made cake and tea but we will be going back for another visit. Their lunches look so scrummy!!!...can't wait. On a cycle ride around the area we visited Crowland, the Abbey and Trinity Bridge. In need of refreshment we spotted the thatched cup and saucer on top of "The Copper Kettle" Famous as a place to meet friends. Inside was totally unexpected. The place was decorated by murals and trompe l'oeil by Jennifer Bell. We spotted butterflies; bees; mice and many species of flowers. The food and drink were good too. Freshly prepared and tasty.

Overcooked dry steaks and burgers. "Well done" steaks were black outside raw inside. Burgers were close to being charcoal. Food not up to normal excellent standards.

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst working in the area.. what a beautiful place. The Mash Tun room was quirky with everything you could possibly need including a tranquil garden to the rear. The bluebell inn has a proper country pub vibe, amazing food and the lovely family that run it really make you feel welcome. Can only wish my stay was longer!

Runways cafe is a little gem. Took my daughter on a trip in a chipmunk at the airfield and stopped to have Sunday lunch at the airfield cafe. Lovely hot food which is a first for us with a carvery. The staff were friendly and helpful. Very clean and had a lovely atmosphere. The food was lovely, and the beef just melted in the mouth. Hats off to the chef. Extra points you can watch the plans from the cafe

Love rumblings for a traditional filling English breakfast but they have other great things on offer as well as really nice takeaway rolls and sandwiches. Very friendly staff and great value for money overall

I'm not a local, but whenever I'm in the area I make a beeline for Turner's! Fantastic battered plaice fillet with chips and mushy peas, a bread roll and a cuppa tea. The fish was fresh, hot and very tasty with nicely browned chips and sweet mushy peas. A lovely soft roll with butter made for a lovely chip butty. Good portion size, plenty for a normal appetite. A fresh brew to wash it down. Very clean inside and attentive service. The carrot cake was also delicious. Yum yum 😋
