Happy Gate Cantonese Takeaway in South Kesteven

Visited on a Friday night, lovely staff and very fast service, got a big order in less that 10 minutes. Came home with a very nice surprise of a free sweet and sour chicken dish! Thank you so much! Would recomend😊

Always had good food from here but tonight ordered a chow mein dish which the menu said was spicy (it wasn't), came with gravy (it didn't) and with an omelette on top (it didn't). Free prawn crackers don't really compensate for the incorrect dish I'm afraid.

Food had absolutely no taste, oyster sauce watered down until taste had gone, king prawns tough, pancake roll had no spices whatsoever. Is this under new management as previous meals were always good, what a disappointment and waste of £32 😦

Went today for the first time 5stars food hygiene and we now live nearby. Good choice and when we opened the containers it looked very appetising. Plenty of food for two and all very tasty and hot. Will be back.

The food is good, I have used it for years but tonight 23/12/23 they added 11% to the bill, because it’s Christmas, not happy will not use them again.

Very nice battered spare ribs but expensive at £7.50 a portion also Pancake Roll at £4.50 each rest of the menu seems very expensive compared to other local Chinese Tack Aways

Happy Gate is a lovely takeaway with a very good menu. We have been customers for over ten years and have always had very nice meals.

A lovely clean seating area, which I feel reflects on a clean kitchen. All staff are presented clean and friendly. Food is well presented, tasty and fresh, appealing to eat and enjoy. I always feel welcome to order at the end of my demanding working day, thank you. I know it will always be an enjoyable experience when I eat my food.

Best Chinese food i've had in town since 'Edwards' closed, the only slight issue was i couldn't order to be delivered due to 'eateasy' not working.

Order was a little delayed, but informed us so no problem at all. Missing a couple of items, but were extremely quick to correct, and gave us money off next order. Absolutely fabulous food :)

Slowest Chinese takeaway I have ever visited. From ordering 2 mains and 2 sides at the counter it took 35 minutes to get our food. STAGGERING! There was only 2 other people in the shop! I’ve visited restaurants, ordered, ate and left in less time. Will never visit again.

We have used this take away for about 16 years and have always been very satisfied with everything we get. Large portions of lovely, tasty food. And a very good selection of dishes and excellent value for money. Great service too. We don’t have deliveries as we now live outside the area, but it’s normally between 15 and 20 minutes to collect which is reasonable. Happy to travel to have delicious food from the Happy Gate.
