Another visit to this very Beautiful and very Historical Establishment situated in the Local village of Baston. When i arrived, i was Greeted with a very Warm Welcome from the Maitrè De and alround Customer Service Server. I decided to Treat myself. I chose the 3 Couse Option on the Menu. Pumpkin with Parnsnip Soup, Turkey Crown with all of the Trimmings and Cremè Bruleè with Winter Berry Fruits, a Delicious Irish Coffee. It was the Best ever meal i have had at The Black Horse. My Most Highest Compliments to the Chef and his Incredible. What a Great Boss and Alan is. Very Well Done to Everyone who makes the Fabulous and very Popular Historical Establishment be on the Tourist and Repeat Customers Map. Had some food today quick service and the food was lovely and a polite waitress

Had sister-in-laws birthday there food was wonderful staff very accomodating

We visited for lunch yesterday and was so impressed with the food. It's great that dogs are welcome too. The vegan lasagna was delicious, I hope this stays on the menu permanently as we'll certainly return. It's nice to have options that aren't just mushroom / halloumi at restaurant pubs. The options here are great.

All the staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. Rooms were a good size, clean and well decorated. Menu had a good choice and food was freshly prepared.

Good food, good service, good value for money

Just had a Sunday carvery with our family. The food was cooked to perfection. A selection of 3 roast meats with a large selection of freshly cooked vegetables. Meat choice today was turkey, beef, and gammon. Service was excellent, and all the staff made us feel welcome. We will definitely be back again.

The bathroom floor was disgusting as was the shower plug. The manager was lovely and cleaned the floor. There was no plug by the bed to charge my phone. Cold selection at breakfast was very underwhelming, no pastries and it was instant coffee. £105 for 1 night on my own wasn’t value for money. I stay in hotels all over the country with work. The staff was great, the evening meal was nice, the lasagne was over microwaved though but the apple pie and custard was the best I’ve ever had! I did get 20% off my food bill for the dirty floor.

A very strange experience. We stayed for one night, and all seemed well on arrival. The room was acceptable, but the WiFi, despite showing an available network, was totally unusable. We had an event to attend, returning at 9.30 o'clock to find both the bar and the restaurant already closed, so had no choice but to return to our room. By this time, there was no suggestion of any available WiFi, nor could we receive any tv programmes. We came to the conclusion that both were turned off at closing time. The breakfast was acceptable, but not exciting.

Attended a friends wedding , lovely venue and friendly staff

Couldn't say what rooms were like as never stayed there. But food... have now eaten there three times and every time meals have been amazing. Staff polite friendly. Would highly recommend eating there.

Called in for Sunday lunch, great service and food

Fantastic once again, great food and choice of drinks, brilliant atmosphere, rooms clean and well furnished. 4th year of staying here for the Festival of the Unexceptional and never look anywhere else as its so good and adds to the enjoyment of the weekend.

We stayed for one night and had both breakfast and an evening meal. The welcome was friendly and the food was good, particularly the evening meal menu, which is a selection of slightly fancier traditional pub food. The double room on the street side of the hotel was huge.

Our club use the Hotel for regular special occasion meals and dinners. Typically we are 40 strong, last night we had our Ladies Summer Dinner. Venue was beautifully dressed, three course meal chosen by us and the venue was great quality and value for money, but the Service fantastic and venue is so flexible and dependable, well done you deserve 5 stars,thank you Deeping Probus Club

Good location with plenty of parking even for a large panel van. The room is basic but spacious and clean. Very friendly staff at the reception and also at the breakfast. Bed comfy, nice bat and restaurant downstairs. Good value for money, would definitely recommend.

We had our wedding reception here at the end of May. The management team was brilliant in helping us organise a great, memorable occassion. Nothing was ever too much bother. Would fully recommend for a wedding. We stayed over and hotel room was clean and spacious. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic We also had an evening meal hear and empty plates for all three courses. Lovely food, and the beer choice is good. A fantastic place to come whether it's a wedding, evening meal or simply having a drink. Good in the summer with a spacious garden too.

Only there for a wedding reception so did not eat. Drinks service was good. Good selection of larger and real ales. Oakham ales Citras was really good and tasted well kept

Stayed her for the weekend as we were attending a wedding close by. Room was very disappointing there was no hot shower yet we paid £100? The people in the room next door kept us up until 4am (not the staffs fault but maybe stronger policy needs to be put in place?) my wife had the burger the next day and the bun was stale, the salad was brown and the chips were soggy and the onion rings were so thick with batter oil was dripping off them. All in all very disappointing for the price

Every thing was ok but the carvery vegetables need attention cauliflower to raw could not cut it oh my god carrots need major attention were not peeled dirty. Looking had not been topped and tailed in the top was black like earth still in it sort the veg and you will be sorted out party of 8 nobody had carrots x

Sorry can't rate rooms as didn't stay But food is amazing. Had chicken mushroom pie Chicken bacon pie Sticky toffee pudding custard Cheesecake. Asked staff to tell chefs food amazing and heard them cheer. Staff were very friendly. Would highly recommend.

I met a friend in this lovely village pub. Very clean, staff friendly. Food very tasty. We both had a fish finger sandwich. Good portion size, served hot with a few chips and salad. We both had a dessert, mine was cheesecake, tasty, however the cream that accompanied it was very sweet, that was left. My friend had the waffles, she said they were tasty, it was a large portion and beat her as it again was too sweet to finish. Just personal preferences. Would recommend A *

I came here for a work Christmas dinner and it was amazing. The staff were extremely accommodating to a table of 10 and they were very speedy with service. The food was excellent, I was only disappointed by jealousy of what my colleagues had picked!
