Pepino Deli in High Peak

What a lovely find. The food was delicious & the staff were really helpful. We didn't know it was plant based but as I'm vegan it was perfect for me. My partner isn't vegan & he was raving about the curried tofu on flatbread.

Briefly,I popped in the other Saturday…been before ,absolutely lovely..however ,having been sat with a menu for over 10 minutes,whilst the staff were in the back singing Spice Girls songs I couldn’t stay any longer..couldn’t risk missing my appointment….I’ll be back though.

When I first walked in it felt warm and welcoming. The decor is quirky and a bit alternative which added to the experience. The food was delicious and well presented.

My partner and I are both vegan and wanted to support a complete vegan business. The shop is small but is bright and clean. We were informed that there was a new menu which was a bonus for us as we liked to see new and fresh menu ideas. My partner decided to order a tofu based meal with rice (which we was told later it was jasmine rice) and that meal was delicious, I tried it too and it was full of flavour especially the rice. The salad was also nice. I however ordered a tofu tower burger. The side salad was the same as the salad on the burger so that for me was too much of the same thing on 1 plate, the burger had 4 pieces of small tofu cubes on it and that doesn’t exactly identify as a “tower” burger to me. It wasn’t horrible but it was more like a mix of bread , salad and a few tofu cubes. The cubes also make the top of the bread cake come off when eating it. It wasnt quite the experience I thought I may have. 2 meals that were completely different in quality and eating experience, strange. But…. I would try here again as I would like to try other dishes perhaps. We also had take away cakes which were ok but not leaving me wanting more. It’s left me a little confused if the over all experience was good or not but I think it would be fair if I tried again. I would also like it if the staff wouldn’t talk next to us about other people and what they get up to on Facebook.

Popped into this cafe on spec for lunch as we were passing through Glossop. Lovely welcome from the staff & a great choice on the menu. So nice to see something different. Only wish we lived closer

Visited with friends for a coffee and returned for lunch as we were so impressed with the menu choices and friendly service. Our lunch was super healthy, delicious and value for money. Will definitely return when visiting this town again and recommend it highly.

Wandering around before a meeting an found this hidden gem!! Good service, amazing coffee- but by gosh the bbq steak panini was perfection!! 😋 will be ready turning.

Absolutely love this place . The home made cakes are my absolute favorite. It's a must to try and they do alot for the community. They have a soup kitchen every month where everyone can go a eat free really amazing place.

Really friendly staff, very relaxed atmosphere and good coffee. Take some time to chill out here and unwind. The sun streams in through the windows most of the day too (when it's sunny!).

So there were some good things about our visit here… in our party there were rave reviews on the New Yorker for instance but we were also scratching our head about why some things were so good and others were, well, pretty awful. The pricing was also really hard to understand in terms of value for money. For example one member of our party ordered a deli sandwich which was stuffed full of various fake meats, salads and pickles and came with 2 sides of slaw and crispy potatoes (yum) really tasty and great value at 7.50. Another ordered the sourdough avocado, tomato and rocket breakfast at 6.50 which came with no sides (hence explaining the £1 reduction he thought). But no… what arrived was a bowl with 4 small, dry, fragments of sourdough bread with no olive oil or dressing on which had been placed 1/2 avocado fanned out and a scatter of tomatoes (no rocket). When he looked across at the deli sandwich and his own plate his jaw literally dropped… why was his order so dry and un delicious whereas other options were so much more delicious and actually great value for money? Hence the average review grade. 2 out of 3 of the party would give 4* but the third gave it zero!

Four different lunch meals and drinks. All perfect. The staff are to be commended on their approach to work and performance; they would be an asset to any business.

Stumbled across this gem of a place whilst spending the weekend in Glossop. Excellent choice of delicious vegan delights, served by friendly, welcoming staff. Highly recommend! So good that we went back again before leaving.

This place is really special, they do amazing, tasty, fresh food and cater all different people's requirements. I love their chocolate cake and they alway do oat milk in tea. They make their own vegan 'meats' and my favourite is 'bacon', cheese, courgette and chilli...

Just popped in for a coffee because it looked like a nice cafe. I was pleasantly suprised that it was a vegetarian/vegan cafe. We had two oatmilk cappuccinos that were really good. The waitresses was very friendly. We already had a lunch planned elsewhere so...

Great range of veggie and vegan meals, lots of selection. Small, but the layout was well thought out for covid restrictions. Organisation of timing meals etc needs a bit of work - one wrong drink and one missing meal, all sorted with a smile, but...

We were so impressed with our delicious vegan breakfast that we returned for more the next morning. The American style pancakes ordered with raspberries and blueberries instead of seitan were cooked to perfection, fluffy and golden brown. The Full English and Pepino Classic Cheeseburger were flavoursome and satisfying, washed down with some decent coffee. All the staff were pleasant and friendly, the décor is pleasing and we stocked up with some cheese and cookies to enjoy at home.

First time visit and expectations were high. The interior is welcoming, informal and relaxed. Staff are polite but there appears to be some degree of disorganisation among some staff members and clarity and self-assurance as to what they ought to be doing and when. There was a significant delay awaiting the hot panini that had been ordered, so much so in fact the hot beverages ordered were almost finished (at a leisurely pace I might add). Sugar had to be asked for and when it was brought to the table, brown sugar was offered for the cups of tea. The sugar came in a tiny ceramic dish that a teaspoon could not even fit into. White sugar was asked for and we were informed minutes later that there was none. A staff member was also observed using hands to prepare a salad and then wiping these on their jeans; not appropriate for any time, not least during the current Covid crisis we are experiencing. This could and should be an excellent venue and clearly other reviewers have reaped the rewards that it can offer. However, it is apparent from my experience that staff require further training on food prep, organisation and table etiquette

This place is a must visit for anyone, veggie or vegan, the coffee is from a local roaster and is sublime, the seitan is hand made, the chicken tofu bites fantastic, tasty fresh quality food excellent service.

I had a tasty vegan cooked breakfast with a great coffee. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the place had a good vibe. Independent places like this should be supported...stop the onward march of the big corporates!

Late afternoon on Sunday. A stroll around Glossop and a coffee stop. We only had coffee but very good and charming staff. Set back from the lawnrd town square, sat outside, great to people watch!

Although we were the only people in the deli had a nice atmosphere. The food was wonderful! The cake and milkshake topped it off. The staff were helpful and friendly. Really nice little place- you can’t tell it’s all plant based!

i came here for cake and coffee very friendly vegan food place really nice genuine people who do a lot for nhs and animal and mental charity.The cakes are the best iv ever had they sell deli ice cream tea coffee and a array of whole food including groceries vegan cheese tinned foods and so fourth.My visit was very welcomed and i enjoy the food clean and professional even make food to order and collect sticking to strict gorvenment guide lines while still serving the community and supporting thos in need.I would recommend and it rare to meet such wonderful business and people who put their heart and soul into not just their buisness there community

Have visited here several times with friends and family, our favourite place to eat and meet!!! Staff are so friendly, the food and drink are all divine Would also highly recommend the occasion cakes. Wouldn't go anywhere else now. Where do I even start with this place? The staff, the food, the atmosphere are all just incredible. It’s such a treat to come here knowing we can have tasty, homemade, healthy vegan food (and sometimes a treat!!). We have had pretty much everything off the menu and nothing has disappointed us. We have had their “meat” for Christmas dinner, deliveries at home during lockdown and a cake for my partners 30th birthday. The attention to detail are second to none. All the staff, particularly Vic & Jim are so friendly and welcoming to the community, they really do go above and beyond for you and you can tell this place, and good vegan food, is truly their passion. I would also like to note, as seen on Facebook, how much these guys are doing for the community and delivering food parcels to NHS hospitals, food banks and animal shelters during the coronavirus pandemic. This is all done from their own time through donations and I just think they are amazing. If ever you are in Glossop, or are a little further out and can make the journey, GO TO PEPINO! You won’t regret it. And the coffee is

I’ve been a regular customer for weeks and really tried to support them as they are a local business. Unfortunately their food and drinks are really inconsistent. The quality and care is dependent on which member of staff has made your food/drink; it ranges from inedible to excellent. It’s a real shame but considering the price I just don’t think it is worth the disappointment. To make matters worse, I made the staff aware of my concerns and they made no effort to rectify the problem. They admitted that quality was dependent on staff member. I will not be returning.

Love this place. Still stepping up through the covid lockdown. Serving the community and the NHS. The seitan cheeseburger is delicious , as the the hotdog and all those amazing cakes- oh and the vegan Sunday lunch. So good, you want more.

It seems almost inconceivable now, 2 days after Boris Johnson announced a near-complete lockdown, that just 9 days ago we were in here having a coffee and a cake before setting off on the next 10-mile leg of the Peak District Boundary Walk, to Dovestone Reservoir, just outside Greenfield. The cafe is characterful and friendly, the coffees excellent, and the cakes rich and yummy. It was reasonably busy and that was at 1030ish on a day when custom was already dropping as people were starting on social distancing. It's hard to imagine it being like that again for quite a while and we hope Pepino survives - it's so nice that small independent coffee shops and delis are still around. Recommended.

I love the Pepino Breakfast - their homemade bacon/sausages are so much nicer than the quorn ones you get in other vegan breakfasts. The milkshakes are huge and delicious. The kids meals are great - lots of options. They always have plenty of specials on. How could I forget the buddha bowls!! An absolute must with the tofu chicken and lime dressing. The tumeric latte is my new favourite drink although I need a double one! The banana split is also brilliant. A lovely plant-based place all round!

We were walking around Glossop on a Sunday trying to find a cafe open when we came across Pepino and we are so glad we did. We didn't realise at first that it was a plant based cafe but once we realised I was extremely happy as I can't have dairy so there was so much choice and I could have pudding too (a rarity). We had the falafal panini and burger which were both great and then two cakes. Really wish a place like this existed near to where we live, but would definitely visit if we are in the area again.

So, me and my partner tend to go for lunch here quite a lot. We had seen on Facebook that they were hosting an evening for Valentine’s Day. The food here NEVER disappoints, it’s always packed with flavour and you can see the passion the staff have for it all.

Having sat down I found myself slightly deflated to find it was a vegan/vegetarian place, being a meat eater.

Super vegi/vegan cafe. Good value and lots of vegan options. Eaten here a couple of times and will happily be back. Dog friendly to boot

Pepino Deli is.... outstanding for hot drink, breakfast and lunch. Finally a proper vegan can get fabulous food and drink without the rigmarole of searching a menu looking for something that is even remotely vegan. You have to try the breakfast wrap, even my carnivorous husband said it was yummy. Fabulous hot chocolate. Staff are super friendly and always offer advice when needed. Cool music too.

Love this place. By far one of my favourite vegan places to dine. A real mix of indulgence and healthy! I love the fresh buddha bowls and then a decadent cake after. Staff are great too, anytime I come in with my little boy (7 months) they are always so helpful to us both and make us feel settled.

Went today,and I must say that,menu wise,I struggled to decide,as it all looked delicious.Simply put I had the club sandwich.THE tastiest sandwich I’ve had in a long long time...the cake, a chocolate tart,was lovely too despite not really being sweet...I didn’t t get that sugar hit..but hey..nitpicking...in short. I loved it.

Following a recent experiment with diet change I explored social media for healthy restaurants near me. This resulted in a short drive to Pepino’s and what a wonderful morning we had. I chose the Pepino breakfast and my wife the banana and maple syrup pancakes. Fantastic options available. I can recommend the cappuccino with oat milk The staff were great and extremely knowledgable and helpful. They guided us through various food options. We also had a chat with the proprietors, Vick and Jim. Got some great tips. Thanks guys, great to meet you all. We will be back

Pepinos was highly recommend to us by a fellow vegan and after a huge walk around Dovestones, we decided to call in with 3 very hungry children. And I'm so happy we did! The deli was amazing, the choice of veggie and vegan options seemed endless and our food was delicious. Such a warm and welcoming place for everyone, especially children. I cant recommend Pepino Deli enough.

Lovely meal! Was ok to have breakfast menu after 11.30 which was great! Lots of fab vegan and veggie choices.

Today we had a thoroughly enjoyable vegan meal in a very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. The menu was extensive and imaginative and the staff very helpful. We very much look forward to coming again.

I absolutely love this place, the chill vibe and great food and coffee at a cheap price is the only place i feel happy to sit and do work or read a book. Couldn't recommend more!

An adorable café with lovely staff and really tasty food! Me and a friend dropped by for lunch, I had the cheese and onion toasty - delicous! Our server was very polite and approachable. There are lots of options such as bread type or milk type for drinks, and the pricing is decent! The atmosphere is family-friendly and relaxed, I would recommend this deli to anyone.

We came in by chance as we were looking around Glossop for some lunch and we're so pleasantly surprised. The staff were welcoming and friendly from the moment we walked in and moved the tables together to accommodate our group of 6.

This place is AMAZING. I've started going quite regularly since it opened a year ago, and I find it simply the best place in Glossop for lunch or coffee. I'm vegan but I've taken loads of meat-eating friends in here and they've been surprised by how much they've enjoyed the food. All the 'meat's are homemade (so you're not getting a frozen sausage or facon in your brekkie), and I don't know what sort of magic they do with their tofu but it's delicious. Spot on. Every time. I've always had a good choice of homemade cakes & scones in there, and seen all the different plant milks. Oh, they don't charge extra for oat milk etc. like all the other coffee shops do. Prices are really good, especially for what you get: a decent toastie from three quid, or panini for about 4-5 quid. Burgers for a treat for about 6 quid. Considering all the chkn/bacon etc. is made from scratch I'd expect to pay a lot more. They're probably sick of me in there and feel like they can't get rid of me, but that's because they're so nice. All the staff and the owners are super friendly, and genuine with it. Definitely worth getting the train out of manchester for half an hour and stopping here for lunch or cake.

Only went in for coffee & scone both were nice but nothing exceptional. Surprised at mediocre welcome especially when there are several good coffee shops in Glossop. This was our first visit and there were only two other tables occupied but it appeared hard work for the lady behind the counter to respond to our cheerful ‘good morning’ to her upon entering. Also same unfriendly attitude when serving our coffee. Obviously caught her on an off day !

Each time I’ve been here, the food & service has been lovely. Been in with vegans/veggies and non-Vs and has been enjoyed all round. The Pesto “chicken” and the mozzarella pesto panini are great. Tried the iced latte for the first time Saturday, very nice.

Delicious vegan sandwiches and milkshakes at a good price! Great place for breakfast or lunch for any vegans or veggies (or anyone!) in Glossop.

When people ask for recommendations for somewhere to eat in Glossop we always point them towards this wonderful little cafe/deli.

I have been to pepino Deli numerous times I absolutely love it the kids loves it and the wife does I have never had a bad experience I've had pretty much every special they do and they absolutely smash it costs about the same as take outs and other food joints in Glossop I'd give them an infinite star rating if I could there events are beyond the norm and books are cheaper than online and at the supermarkets thanks guys for your amazing idea to open in Glossop

Fantastic place, fantastic food, great atmosphere. Pepino Deli is not just a cafe, it’s a community. It’s great for a healthy meal OR something a bit naughtier. If you have space left after your food their cakes are a must try!

Visited here with my 2 children. We ordered two kids hot chocolates and they were tiny with only 3 marshmallows in them. My regular coffee also only had about 4 tastes in it so we were in and out in 15 mins. What a shame as the cake was quite nice. I would go again but it would not be my first choice and I’d have to order large drinks just to get one at a normal size.

Went in with my baby girl, they are very welcoming to dogs and humans. Colourful and delicious food and drink choices. We had the big bagel without cheese (I asked for no cheese) and they took off some of the price since I didn’t want the cheese which was very sweet of them. They were serving strawberry iced tea which I tried and it was gorgeous, and I don’t even like regular tea! Thoroughly enjoyed. 2 tiny recommendations I’d give would be to put a sign by the door to let people know dogs are allowed as I wasn’t too sure at first and maybe consider reusable metal straws or paper ones, but aside from that I couldn’t ask for more. lovely, polite and patient people x

I so appreciate a coffee shop to take my daughter to, where she won't react to the dairy in the atmosphere. I think there are 5 different choices of milk !

The food is amazing and it’s ran by a lovely family. If your looking for fresh homemade fvegan food this is the place 🙌🏻. They always make me feel welcome even remembering my name and my favourite dishes.

Couldn't have asked asked for a better place to eat. They have accommodated our mottly dietary requirements which include vegan, a number of food intolerances, dislike of garlic And they allow dogs. Lovely helpful staff. Great food. And even better they are displaying a 'tackling wildlife crime in Derbyshire' poster.

Pepino is a great addition to Glossop.

I discovered this place less than a month ago, but I've already been back four times and I don't even live in Glossop! It's a lovely, warm, cosy place with a huge choice of vegan food. In fact, it took me ages to order the first time because, as a vegan, I'm used to being offered hummous and maybe, on a good day, soup or salad - so I was overwhelmed by all the options. Friendly service, recipe books to browse (vegan food porn!), great coffee & cake, as well as the breakfast/lunch menus - what's not to love?

This is one of our favourite places to eat. A beautiful little cafe just off the main square in the centre of town, it's the perfect location with the perfect food. Whether you just want a cake and a coffee, toasted sausage, bacon and cheese paninis for breakfast, or a proper lunch, everything they make is tasty and filling. And while it's all veggie, it can all be made vegan too! It's worth a visit just to sample the plant-based meats which are all homemade and delicious (seriously, the vegan bacon is the best around). Can't recommend this place highly enough. If you're ever nearby, definitely go visit them.

Just popped in by chance. I had soup which was ok and my wife had a mushroom toastie which was presented with salad past it’s best. Waitress was very apologetic and came back 2 minutes later with an equally sad salad. Pretty basic stuff to get wrong.

Recommend by my sister for its great selection of food and drink all veggie/vegan, absolutely delicious food, really friendly service, will definitely recommend to anyone and everyone. Will be back next time in Glossop!

Im not a vegetarian or a vegan but I went in with a friend to try the food. The staff were all very friendy and explained what was available. There is a good choice of foods and it all looked and smelled delicious. We both went for a bacon (seitan) panini with vegan mayonaise. It came out quickly and looked and tasted amazing. I cant wait to return to try out other things on their menu.
