The best restaurants in East Midlands

Wow! What a great little place to go. Firstly - we love going out to Italian restaurants to eat so we will leave our dog at home. However as we are on holiday, we couldn’t do that this time. Luckily enough, 1530 is dog friendly outside so you aren’t forced to eat in a general pub spending the same amount of money on mediocre food - so we sat outside in the sun and ate here. The service was quick, friendly and attentive with checks throughout but no disruption. Reasonably priced - £60 for a starter, main and alcoholic drink each (including an aperol!) The lasagna was full of big chunks of pulled meat and the seafood risotto was a very reasonable portion (something you don’t normally see) and had plenty of seafood in. Both were full of flavour. A nice touch to have a chocolate with the bill - no “auto” service charge so you can actually choose to tip if you want! (This place definitely deserves a tip). Will definitely be going back and you must go here if you want great quality food and actual value for money, in 2025!!

I have had fish and chips from you in the past, probably 6 months ago, and loved them, fresh fish, very nice batter, but tonight we ordered fish and chips again, And am a little disappointed, the batter was nice but the cod had little taste and wasnt as thick as in the past, and it was very firm, as if it was cooked earlier in the day. Not as tasty as before

Cracking local & friendly pub with quality; food, beer & staff. Huge shout out to both Imogen & Dylan, who always go beyond what's expected, delivering customer delight. Highly Recommend & an easy 5 Stars...

Nothing to add, really, just a ridiculous price. OK, the food was fine and the service was very good, but this was not good value for money.

Food was unbelievable, never had fish so fresh and tasty. Would definitely recommend this takeaway to anyone wanting an excellent fish and chips supper, home made marinade for the chicken kebab, beautiful

Gran servicio y ambiente encantador , recomiendo encarecidamente esta prueba única en beeston.

One of the nicest trays of chips I’ve ever had, and their battered sausage had just the perfect amount of batter. Delicious.

Bustler does family events very well. However, as a trader last weekend at a vintage fair, it was a terrible experience. The marketing was clearly aimed at family fun but the nature of the makers market was vintage and hand made. I was lucky to at least make my costs back but most others were not. This is a shame for not just us but the people of Derby who would have been thrilled to attend such a high quality fair had they known about it. This review is intended to ensure better promotion and collaboration with the micro businesses also struggling to survive and thrive.

Great food & service Atmosphere is lovely

First time we've visited here for a long time on a Sunday as we found the Pig & Muck some years ago, where the Carvery was outstanding. Unfortunately, that's now changed hands and a Carvery is no longer offered, so we tried The Crown again. The Pros: Staff were all lovely, really friendly and very attentive. We've always liked the interior of this Pub and it had been refreshed since our last visit, many years ago. Cons: Welcome at the actual Carvey was "what do you want mate"! What can I get for you, without the mate, would seem more appropriate. First dissapointing thing food wise, was only a choice of 3 meats. Perhaps we were spoilt at The Pig & Muck, as there was always beef, pork, pork belly, lamb, gammon and turkey on a Sunday. The meat we had at The Crown though was good. Frozen Yorkshire Puddings were also dissapointing. Most establishments serving a great Sunday Lunch pride themselves on homemade Yorkshire. The Cauliflower and Brocoli Cheese was just awful. The sauce was as runny as water. It seems the staff are the biggest asset here, as the Carvery was not good enough to return. I know the long established Chef left a few months ago, so maybe this is problem.

Beautiful Sunday roast a the White Hart with a choice of pork, beef ,Turkey or all three meats. Absolutely delicious and would highly recommend. I'll definitely be returning.
