This is a small restaurant, but a little gem. We had a weeks holiday in Hope (1.5 miles away) and had 3 meals at the 1530. The menu was varied and interesting. Between the 2 of us we had 6 different mains and every one was good. I especially enjoyed the Red Snapper - don't think I've ever had it done quite like that, so well done chef! The staff were really friendly and helpful. The 1530 also had draught Stones bitter on which is unusual for this sort of venue. If we're in the area again we will be sure to visit. The restaurant is quite small, so you do need to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

We were recommended this by our B&B and did not disappoint. Everything was delicious, highlights included breads with olive pate and parmesan butter, and pancetta and asparagus pasta.

I chose to come here from TripAdvisor reviews and it did not disappoint. It is an intimate restaurant with friendly efficient staff, and great food. Food was well cooked and well presented. I had burrata and marinated tomato for starter which was delicious. For mains it was difficult to choose, but I plumped for Tumbo. This was a selection of fish cooked as a risotto. Absolutely spot on! My husband wanted tiramisu for dessert and we were brought two spoons which was a nice touch. Perfect again. A lovely evening in a smashing little restaurant.

We visited with friends one Saturday evening in September. We booked ahead and managed to get a table at 5pm...otherwise it was fully booked. The menu was quite extensive with the typical Italian fayre and some more unusual dishes. It took us a while to decide what we were having, with the waitress joking that the table was booked for 7, so we needed to hurry up. Eventually, we decided and ordered starters, including Burrata, calamari, and bruschetta. Followed by mains including pizza, tombo risotto, and beef cheek lasagna. Washed down with some beer and wine. It was all very good, the lasagna deserving a specific shout out! A couple of us had dessert - both plumping for the lemon ricotta cheesecake, which fit the price felt a little small. For 4 with drinks it came in at about £150 which isn't bad considering the quality of the food.

Delicious meal, the best lasagne I have ever had. Generous portions and extremely reasonable prices considering the quality of the food. Friendly and helpful staff, would recommend to any and all visiting Castleton and beyond looking for high quality, reasonably priced food with an extensive menu in the heart of the village. Usually take plenty of photos of my food but couldn’t wait to dig in to this meal…

Had to wait at the bar for a long time for anyone to speak to us to then take us to our table (we booked in advance) We did have to wait to be served for a long time. Took about 20 mins to get an offer of a drink. Starters of squid and wild mushrooms were lovely. Just disappointed with the mains of pasta. Not the best Italian we've had, ragu pasta was thick and chewy, pretty bland flavours. I was even searching for the taste of garlic in the garlic bread. Menu online was different to the menu when we arrived. Overall very pricey at £86 for 2 for what we got in all honesty. Not sure we'd rush back in a hurry as somewhat underwhelmed.

Turned up with no booking on Sunday around 6, it was busy but we got a table right in front of kitchen which was great as you could see in and it was clean presentable and efficient. I had lemon chicken gnocchi and my husband had pizza, the food was excellent and well presented. Would definitely return.

Our first night on holiday in Castleton and we visited 1530 for dinner. We had no table reservation and the team welcomed us no problem. The staff are so friendly, nothing is too much trouble, the food is AMAZING and prices are so reasonable (we had the mozzarella garlic bread, wild mushroom risotto and parmesan chicken with mash). Thanks so much for having us, we can’t wait to return. Emma & Mike xx

This was our first visit to this restaurant and we were not disappointed. No surprise there are so many good reviews. Due to time restraints and commitments in the area we maybe didn't get the full experience however, what we did get was great food, very welcoming & helpful staff in a pleasant ambience. We will be back...
