Vechia Italia in High Peak

I don’t really do Italian but thought we would give it a go. Well it was excellent. Some of the tastiest food I have had in a long time. Will definitely be returning.

Lovely food and enjoyed all starter main and desert. All staff were very nice though out meal and it had nice decorations for valentines and even fresh flowers on the table which i thought was a sweet touch.

Just what we needed. Had another very good meal here last night-tried the minestrone soup-it was delicious. Lovely mains too.

Just had a fantastic meal from Vecchia. Carbonara was lovely and creamy, the two pizzas were delicious. Fast speedy delivery. Would definitely recommend.

We've been here a few time over the years for family occasions and had no problems and always felt relaxed. Unfortunately Tonight hasn't been a great experience as the service wasn't the best and we felt rushed. The food was amazing. unfortunately we had a problem with food arriving at different times. In my opinion food was pre ordered so this shouldn't be a problem as we ordered weeks in advance as requested. At the end of our night we wanted to pay separately for our own groups but this was refused by the boss as he wanted the bill paid in one which my mum felt she had to pay for everyone. I found this unfair as the bill was over £300. After my mum had paid it seemed that they couldn't wait to close the restaurant which made everyone feel uncomfortable. Due to my experience tonight I don't think we'll be returning.

This is a lovely restaurant. The menu hasn’t changed for years and doesn’t have to as the food is outstanding. Cannot fault it. Pizza pasta or meat dishes are all fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend.

Friendly welcoming staff and delicious food can't recommend enough! The cheesy garlic bread dipped in their home made bbq sauce...if you know you know!

Lovely restaurant, been coming for 20 years, the staff are lovely and the food is amazing.

We love Vecchia Italia and have done for years. They redecorated a couple years ago and it looks absolutely amazing! Not to mention how yummy their food is! The service is always excellent but the 10/10 food is what wins it over for us. I've been coming here since I was a child and I'm now taking my child there, which makes my heart melt that we can experience the same childhood memories in such a beautiful, delicious, welcoming restaurant.

Been going here for 35 years since they first opened, with my family as a youngster and as a parent, never had a bad meal in all these years, always felt welcome as soon as you walk through the door to leaving and thanking staff. Birthdays are the best memories here, the kids love it.

A lovely and authentic taste of Italy. Brilliant atmosphere, great value and service. My family have been coming here for years for many celebrations. Highly recommended. Also the new alcohol free range of beers wines and spirit's is a fantastic addition.

This restaurant is one of the best Italian restaurants in the area. Some are close by and are overpriced and even charge a seating fee. Another you can wait 3 hours for a starter. Every meal we have eaten at Vecchia, either in the restaurant or as a takeaway, is of a very high standard. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. I would always recommend it to anybody.

I absolutely love them! Started going when I was 7 with the family and I'm now 40 and I absolutely love it there. Family friendly and the most wonderful Italian food I've ever eaten. They are so welcoming and make you feel relaxed and important no matter if your 7yrs old or 70. I now live in south wales and i still come back here! Amazing place

Went with my family and had a great birthday meal. Excellent pasta dishes and pizzas all round. The chocolate fudge cake was amazing. The staff were attentive and nothing was too much for them, especially as we had a baby with us. Great restaurant, we will return.

I have been coming here for over 20 years now and have never had a bad meal! The staff are attentive, food is always fresh, hot and delicious and nothing is too much trouble for staff. I would definitely recommend to anyone, what a gem to have on our doorstep in the High Peak

My local restaurant among a growing list of options but it’s always a favourite. The reason it is is simple, there is always a genuine warm welcome, the food is always constantly really great and the atmosphere is warm and lively as a family restaurant should be. I’ve been using this venue for nearly 20 years since I first moved to Chapel and I think that says it all. Don’t get me wrong, I use others too but for our regular family get together this is still my favourite.

Always a lovely experience and gorgeous food. I have been visiting for the last 20 years and the quality of food and service has never changed. It is great value for money and the staff enhance the experience. We order takeaways frequently and they are always hot and just as delicious. Vecchia Italia is an important asset to Chapel-en-le-Frith and we are lucky to have you on our High Street.

dated, low ambiance and staff seem bewildered if you ask anything. Left not long after arriving and didn’t sample food but atmosphere not great / decor tired looking

Great Food, the ribs were to die for, we both had the ribs for starter, followed by Spaghetti Carbonaro and Spaghetti Calabrese. The Sicilian chef has not forgotten his routes the food was fabulous. The staff were very attentive and we go back for sure.

Having moved into the area some 2 years ago I have tried most of the restaurants and found them to range from good to very good. However! My first (and only) visit. The food was simply awful. Minestrone swimming in oil, calamari with batter that thick they should have been called donuts. As for the chicken in white wine, cream and a ‘touch of pesto which I won’t notice’ , well least that’s what I told by the waiter. Firstly the thinnest piece of chicken was covered in green goo. I can’t describe the taste, not in food terms anyway. Veg swimming in water Interesting how not once asked how the food was. This place appears to have lots of repeat customers, all to their own. I certainly won’t be one. Plenty better than this in town. Avoid!

Attended during a family holiday with my 5 year old son and his 15 year old cousin. Perfect family friendly eatery with attentive staff and lovely traditional atmosphere. Would recommend to others staying with family.

fabulous authentic Italian meal this evening. There were three of us and we found making a reservation was easy and it was confirmed by email. Starters included some excellent calamari; mains was 2 sumptuous pasta dishes (a nice spicy penne and a really packed seafood...

A lovely night out ,the food was excellent .

I dont usually review places unless I can give five stars (my mum taught me that if you can't say anything nice you should say anything) but this place was dire. The food was hit and miss with the emphasis on miss: the calamari could have been onion rings or just circles of batter for all the texture and flavour they had. The pizza bases seemed to be pre-rolled frozen dough. Cheap ingredients prepared badly. The staff seemed more interested in shutting up shop at 9pm than asking if we wanted coffee or dessert. The prawns were well cooked in too much sauce.

What’s happened to Vecchia? We’ve been dining here for about 15yrs but after tonight won’t be returning. First off , we ordered a bottle of Sauvignon but got Soave( I guess our mistake as the waitress didn’t know the difference between the two and we...

Dishes were quite hit and miss. I had carbonara, tasted ok but was not authentic, it was swimming in cream sauce so much i had to use a spoon. One of us had calamari starter, he couldn't tell the batter from the calamari. After our mains we were ignored as they were packing up, it was about 9 so early for them. We were not offered dessert or coffee. We asked for the bill and left. I'm not local but if ever in the area I would not go back.

When visiting relatives in the area, Vecchia Italia has been our first choice for a meal out for many years due to the consistently good food and attentive service. Our experience yesterday (Friday) was again excellent, as usual. They deserve all the praise they get.

Chanced upon the Vecchia, it's nothing special but it's very adequate. Food was simple but OK, our server was extremely pleasant, overall I'd go again but there is little choice in Chapel En Le Frith

Delightful place. Outstanding value for money. Car park is behind the restaurant, off Rowton Grange Road. The Crespelle di Pollo was a tasty mixture of flavours. Only 4 stars because the pancake was burnt on the base. The tiramisu was delicious and beautifully presented.

Staying overnight in the area and came across this restaurant. Great food at decent prices. The host was very friendly and we would definitely go back again.

Recommended it to my family, visited last night and couldn’t fault a thing. Service was great, food was amazing so much flavour and was a nice atmosphere. Thanks to all the staff and chefs we had a really nice evening, will be returning soon!

A surprise visit for my birthday organised by my daughter and friends. I was not disappointed. The food as usual was spot on. Gorgeous in fact. Friendly staff and still had my sparkling ice cream. I know I'm grown but still lovely. Thank you Vecchia glad to see you are back .Just a little point. Mop and bucket brought out and cleaning wasn't a good look really while customers are in. We were on the move but maybe a nod to say you are about to close.

Went out with a couple friends and rang last minute, was given a table even on a busy night and service was still impeccable. Drinks were well priced and Brought quickly throughout the night! food was brilliant, felt authentic and tasted great compared to other...

Pizza quite small and greasy. Lasagna also a small portion in a big container, didn't taste great.

We decided at short notice to get a pizza instead of cooking and so came the decision as to where we would order from. Finally we decided on Vecchia Italia as our previous experiences with some pizza outlets have not been the best. Suffice to say, it was the best pizza by far that we have had and is now going to be our go-to place for pizza. No doubt we will be exploring the rest of the menu at Vecchia Italia and trying other dishes. Can only give them 5 out of 5.

Lovely meal! We live in a city so are used to paying city prices, this restaurant is equally comparable for a fraction of the cost. The service was excellent and the staff were friendly and polite. The restaurant was socially distanced and staff frequently sanitising....

We decided to make the most of the govt Eat Out scheme. We had a party ranging from 11 years old up to 51. There was something for everyone. The kids loved the pizza and pasta dishes. Fillet steak Dine, Salmon fillet, garlic prawns. Gorgeous...

Went for an Italian on the Saturday and the four of us had a lovely meal. High quality, great tasting food and the staff were some of loveliest and friendly I have come across anywhere in the world. We had the pizzas the next night...

Vecchia Italia is an amazing local Italian restaurant and is my favourite restaurant to go to. Some of my fondest memories have been dining with family here. Giovani and his staff are some of the friendliest people I have met and they always make people feel exceptionally welcome. The whole restaurant always has a warm and amiable feel to it. The food is delicious. I've had many of the dishes here including garlic breads, barbecue ribs, pizzas, pastas, steaks and king prawns. They have all been exceptional. There's a also a good selection of drinks and desserts to choose from. One of the nicest things here is that if you let the staff know that you're celebrating a birthday, they will bring out a treat and encourage people to sing Happy Birthday (if you want them too). It's a lovely gesture and really highlights how friendly the place is. I can't recommend Vecchia Italia highly enough.

Went with friends this evening whom are regulars, very impressed with the service from being met at the door to the finish. Pizzas were amazing, fillet steak best for many years and the wine was perfect. Thoroughly good evening was had, highly recommend.

I’ve been going to Vecchia since I was little. My parents used to take me for my birthdays, now I take my kids. A really happy friendly atmosphere. The food is always good, we’ve never had a bad meal although we do tend to have the same every time!

The place is a little old fashioned...but I like that..the chefs peering out of the kitchen like they were waiting for chef Ramsey...the food was average...frozen pizza bases I’m guessing...sauces on the pasta nothing sautéed...it has a fan base,but it needs a bit of a shake up...the menu is straight out of the 70’s ....melon? It has a certain charm but would benefit from a dusting off and an injection of va va voom...
