Decent food, but was very impressed by the quality & professionalism of service.

This is our favourite restaurant and we go regularly. The atmosphere is lovely with friendly staff, a nicely decorated restaurant, and good background music. They are welcoming of our toddler who loves the bolognese and watching the pizzas go into the pizza oven. The food comes quickly (although you never feel rushed). They do wonderful gluten free pizza. Prices are very reasonable. They handle service for large groups well too. Couldn’t ask for more!

The food is pleasant, some of it very good, the service is friendly and helpful, and the place is spotless. Reasonably priced too.

Not my normal review style (mainly due to that "meh" feeling and disappointment) but a copy of my thoughts from my FB post for friends in my local area. To add context, this didn't include 2 glasses of house wine at £7.40 each. Plus I can't of course verify the source of the ingredients, but sometimes you just know..... "You know sometimes you really should just go with your gut..... I'm not a fan of Italian restaurants, well not outside of Italy. It's in my experience not made with love but for sheer profit, pulling in those that don't know better. Anyhow, Sue fancied a date night (which is always fun) but wanted to go to La Corrente..... Though my Spidey sense tingled I agreed. Now I don't usually dis restaurants on FB, only share those experiences I've enjoyed, but sometimes when places take the piss it grinds my gears. Our choices : Tomato bruschetta (ok, nothing special just mid). Slow cooked pork ribs (slow? 5 hours lovingly braised in aromatics, herbs and base sauce ingredients so it falls if the bone with a rich dense gravy to dip some nice crusty bread into..... Nope, 80% pork bones with minuscule pieces of leather like pork and swimming in some artificial sauce, we're talking motorway service level of cooking). Carbonara (over salty bacon, gloopy sauce and stodgy pasta). Rib eye steak (now Ive eaten my body weight of rib eyes over the years, plus bought many from the Lidl from across the way from this restaurant. If this wasn't a Lidl steak then I'll eat my hat, plus seasonal veg..... Under seasoned asparagus and carrot, very seasonal.... ). But the worst! Truffle and parmesan fries are trendy in lots of places currently, Sue's very partial. So I ordered them as my side for her. Fries... Check, Truffle oil .... Maybe. Parmesan..... Less evident. Really cheap, shop bought vinegary mayonnaise... Tons off.... Joke. The pleasure for this meal? £78.00 Yup less than £10 worth of ingredients for £78 (even the good service can't justify that). That's why I don't do and hate Italian restaurants in the uk, I've been burnt so many times."

This is the second time we have been and it did not dissapoint. The food was lovely, our only minor critisism and this is being picky, we felt there was not enough time between courses, the restraunt was not full like it normally is. This could be called efficient as well so its not the end of the world. All the people who served us were friendly and could not do enough.

Absolutely stunning meal tonight. Great atmosphere and excellent staff. Our waitress had a lovely smile every time she came to our table. We will definitely be returning very soon and I 100% recommend anyone to come here for the best Italian meal I’ve had in any restaurant. 5 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. Been a few times now and the food is always brilliant. Staff are always attentive, friendly and efficient. Only criticism is you need to have a way to tip your staff via card given the severe lack of ATMs in Glossop

Always enjoy a visit to La corrente. My husband had a pizza and I had a pasta dish with a bottle of wine to share. We didn't book but they accommodated anyway. Really enjoyed our visit once again.

First time visiting and not sure why we haven’t visited before. Lovely atmosphere, great music, very clean and comfortable. Spotless toilets. Great menu, took a while to choose everything was interesting. Waitress and all the staff very attentive, and friendly, they are doing a great job. We had mocktails, very tasty. Food was delicious. Will definitely be back again. Loved the crème brûlée especially.

Really nice restaurant! A good atmosphere, there were 3 birthdays going on and everyone sang happy birthday which was lovely. Servers were accommodating apart from asking me to remove my hood which I explained that I am a hijabi and also have been suffering from a head injury therefore didn’t want to show it. They were very understanding. I ordered the lobster ravioli and it came in prawn sauce. My first time eating lobster and I wasn’t disappointed! The sauce was very fishy which was to be expected. I probably would like to see a lobster ravioli with tomato sauce on the menu in future. My partner had the pizza and this was also very tasty. The drink that I ordered was a strawberry lemonade and it was STUNNING. I do recommend coming here. Good date location or for a family/ friend get together.

We had a lovely Sunday evening out here as a couple. Very relaxed atmosphere and nice music. We had meatballs to start and then sea bass and seafood risotto. Tiramisu and chocolate cake for dessert. Everything was very nicely cooked and presented. Good portions as well. Shout out to the lad behind the bar because the cocktails/ mocktails were on point! The table was very well attended and all staff were polite. We would definitely like to come back to sample the pizza and some other menu items.

I couldn’t recommend this restaurant high enough. I live nearby so go quite regularly. The food is superb every time. The atmosphere strikes a great balance between the feel of a fancy night out while still being relaxed and comfortable. The staff are always super attentive and really friendly.

Wonderful food this evening, what we originally wanted wasn't available but staff couldn't have been more apologetic, we made alternate choices, which was delivered promptly and was delicious.

Restaurant was fully booked but they managed to find a table for us, definitely book ahead, as they were turning people away at the door! The menu had a good selection on it. The food was delicious, with quick service and staff were friendly and helpful. Would revisit if back in the area again!

Just had Mother’s Day menu today over priced £29.50 for two courses soup and spaghetti bolognaise very limited choice and nothing special.

Went for a casual night out with my wife; service was first class - attentive but not overbearing and the staff were willing to engage in conversation. The menu has a good selection from which to choose and the food was well presented, tasty and reasonable value for money. The atmosphere was good, with the restaurant about 75% full. Without hesitation I would recommend this restaurant.

La Corrente is a fantastic Italian eatery. I have had dinner with my wife 3 or 4 times and we have never been disappointed with the quality of the food or service. It is a gem and we love taking the opportunity to visit it time and time again. In Glossop we are lucky to have such a wonderful place to frequent.

First time we had been to this restaurant, the food was lovely with good portion sizes, the staff were lovely too. We would definitely recommend and would also return hopefully soon. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Went here on a Saturday night for my husband's birthday. Overall, a lovely night and a very nice place to spend it. The staff were friendly and attentive and service was fast. I was a bit disappointed that there was only one choice of risotto, a vegetarian one, so I had that. Must say, it was delicious and lifted to a higher level by the side dish of stir fried chilli veg. We were a party of 8 and everyone enjoyed their meals, though the lobster ravioli was reported to be a bit bland. The staff made an effort to mark the birthday, even though we hadn't told them about it! We would definitely go back, as we had a most enjoyable, if slightly expensive evening.

The food here is amazing. We've been here quite a few times and it's always good. No matter how busy they are the service is always brilliant. We even had Christmas dinner here recently. There was a reduced menu which is understandable and we'd ordered in advance. Even though it was extremely busy, the quality of the food and the service was as good as any other time we've been.
