Birthday meal with family starter Asian beef salad stringy beef burnt crispy coating and covered in fried onions with soy sauce dreadful. Main lamb was OK dessert was Eaton mess more like Eaton mush. Over priced and pretentiousness. Great waiting staff very friendly
We ate here as a couple on a Saturday evening. We booked last minute as we were staying locally that weekend for a trip, but they were very accommodating for us. The restaurant was busy and had a good atmosphere. We had starter and a main each and a bottle of wine. We couldn’t fit in a desert as we were stuffed! The food quality here is brilliant, so much flavour. Also the food was hot and portion sizes were great value for money. Dispute being busy the staff were friendly and attentive. We would absolutely return if we were in the area again. 10/10!!
Saturday walk with family and the dog . Lovely welcome and excellent food in a pretty pub. Always nice to return . The walks in Shirley estate are lovely and this pub makes an ideal lunch or evening meal stop . You can sit outside with a good view of the pretty village or sit inside with log burners on cold days .
Our second time here and it was just as good as the first. We had onion bhajis and mirch wali fish to start, the fish was gorgeous. For mains we shared lamb khumbhara, chicken khagani with mushroom rice and a garlic naan. The staff are lovely the food is great and they have some lovely pictures on the walls, what’s not to love! We’ll be back next month when we’re in Derby to see another band.
Llevé a mi pequeño a una discoteca de Pascua en el Almacén Loco. Fue un evento encantador donde el equipo había puesto mucho esfuerzo - Charlotte y Tamera, para dar a los niños una experiencia memorable encantadora. Gracias ☺️
Came here with a couple of friends during a one night stay in Hathersage and so glad we did.
First tip is make sure you book. We came on a Saturday night and it was really busy but our table was ready.
The menu had a massive selection to suit all tastes. The food was delicious with beautiful spicy and herby tastes washed down with bottles of Cobra.
Even though it was very busy the staff were friendly and attentive. We were also pleasantly surprised at the value for money when we got the bill. Would definitely recommend.
I used to love this place change over of owners did not know what they was doing and it was the worst fish and chips I have ever had, please old owners show them the way you did it x I don't like to complain but they need support what to do to help them
Went in about 2pm on a Thursday so it was quiet. Only a small place but had a wonderful, welcoming staff, quick service and the pizza was served fast, got and was delicious.

Meal came and was delicious and hot
Restaurant was spotless
First time ordering a takeaway from this restaurant. Very very impressed. Easily the best curry I have ever had! Delivered in an appropriate time frame. Portion sizes are good. 100% worth a visit or try.
We love this restaurant. The food is always excellent and the staff friendly, caring and efficient. We came with 15 members of our family in January as well, and all the meals were served together - quite a feat in a small restaurant - and our family were delighted with everything, even those who were not easily pleased. We have been several times over the last few months, mainly because my brother won't go anywhere else and has the same dishes every time! I think he would eat Penne al pollo alla casa every day if he could! Thank you so much for making us so welcome.
We had a lovely Mother's Day lunch here yesterday - the pub is beautiful, as is the surrounding area. There was a set menu for Mother's Day with plenty to choose from and 3 courses for £33.00 which we thought was good value for money. The pub was extremely busy and we were waiting a while between our starters and our main, but we didn't mind that. All in all we had a lovely afternoon out but there are a couple of niggles ... 4 of us opted for the prawn cocktail starter - the avocado was missing from all 4 of the prawn cocktails and when we told our waitress, she just said sorry. I am unsure whether they had run out or simply forgotten to put it in there but it would have been nice if she could have looked into it for us. For the main, 3 of us went for the Derbyshire beef and 2 had the chicken. Unfortunately, even though it was cooked perfectly, the beef was a little on the tough side, as was the chicken. The rest of the meal was lovely and we were going to complain but just put it down to the fact it was extremely busy and sometimes, you do get that tough joint of beef. We would definitely return. Our main waitress was lovely and very helpful. Thank you for a great afternoon out.
