Veneto in Harborough

Average at best I'm afraid. It was a very quiet night when I was there, but it was a Wednesday evening. The first thing that draws your attention is the lighting in here, so bright it was like a works canteen. Really harsh spotlights and downlighters. If the lights were turned down much lower it would give a much nicer atmosphere. My starter of prawns were way over cooked, which I did mention and got the old "I'll pass it on to the chef". Seafood pasta for mains was...okay. I can't say that I tasted any seasoning. I was a bit disappointed really having finally got around to eating in here after staying in MH for many years. Sadly, I won't be returning.

Had a really cosy great meal in this place and really felt like it was one of the better Italian restaurants I have visited recently. Had a Calzone which was gorgeous and my partner had a carbonara. We both really enjoyed it. Service was great and it wasn't too pricey either. Will be coming back for sure.

When bill was presented I have noticed that the discount price that was jn the menu was not added completely to the bill. I have raised the issue and the answer was that it was a mistake with the machine and there was nothing that could be done. Was not impressed with the answer.

Not a pleasant experience. The restaurant lacked a pleasant atmosphere. Similar to a canteen / cafe. My food, a chicken dish, was sadly disappointing. The chicken was so dry it was like eating blotting paper. The bread accompanying the chicken was dry and over cooked. Very poor indeed.

Great service, but was disappointed with the food unfortunately. Sorry, but Zizzi nailed the concept of italian cuisine much better.

We actually had take away pizza. It was lush. Best pizza in a long while. Loved the fact you could make subs in the standard menu as this stops the pizza costing an absolute fortune. Very happy to have been directed to this place. With the driver there and the drive home to eat it. Yumm. Would definitely recommend to locals and this passing through like me!

Lovely meal with good service and friendly staff, reasonable prices and would highly recommend. Look forward to going back again.

Good food at a cheap price. Ideal for family dining and other celebrations.

Food was hot and tasty. Made a slight mistake with our order but was quickly rectified. Was a bit surprised that the ice cream on the menu was Movenpick when I am aware that within a 25 mile radius of the restaurant there are a good number of ice cream makers of Italian heritage who could supply the restaurant with authentic gelato and ice cream.

Lovely little restaurant, great food

Wasn't good at all, I'm afraid to say. Just about OK. Food was lacking some vibrancy and freshness. The restaurant is nice enough... and although not overly expensive, the whole experience was flat. Would rather pay slightly more for better quality food if I'm already paying ~£25pp...

Food was nice, was quite busy. Made a mistake on order, but wasn't a huge issue. Food came out quickly, was hot and nice portions.

We had a really good lunch for four people, today, at this excellent small restaurant. The food was tasty, the service attentive, efficient, yet friendly in a typically relaxed sort of a way you get in many Italian restaurants. The last time the four of us met in this restaurant was on 13th March 2020, just before the first lockdown. We picked it then on the basis of good Google reviews They are just as goodnow! Thanks to everyone who has reviewed before. It was as good as many of you said! As a meeting place for two couples to catch up over a nice simple meal, this was ideal. Busy on a Wednesday lunchtime and reassuringly so, as with the many, many Italian restaurants we have visited. It was a pleasure and we will be back again Thanks again to all at Veneto!!! Thank you for surviving!!!

Always great food, always great prices, always great staff. Very surprised by the size of the side garlic bread (spoiler: it's huge). The staff even offered to bag up the rest of it for me. Very happy, a true Harborough staple.

Been 4 or 5 times now and always have a beautiful meal. Would recommend anyone to try rather than going to the known Italian chain restaurants

Really nice gluten free pizza.... seems to be handmade in the restaurant. Lovely pasta dish too with gf penne. I would maybe like another gluten free dessert option, but anyway we were well catered for and great service.. will return sometime soon.

The food was excellent! And their gluten-free pizza base was really nice! GF pasta was only penne at the time, but that doesn’t really matter to me, because the pasta dish was also really nice anyway. I highly recommend it!

Gone down hill…drastically! Visited Wildwood for the first time in 12 months, as we’ve always enjoyed eating there prior, but what has happened? Greeted as we entered to be told, we have none of this, none of that, none of the other, oh and cash only payments today, the machine is bust! Taken to our table where we walked by a bar full of empty and dirty glasses etc. and noted many other customers sat with their empty plates on the tables (alarm bells started to ring). Menus came promptly but then after 10 minutes of not being given any attention, not even ‘What would you like to drink?’ we decided to bail before we wasted any more time (and our money). We went to a locally run Italian called Veneto’s around the corner where service was great and food was too! Given what we’re coming out of the crazy lockdown world, I’d have thought restaurants need to be on their A-game, sadly Wildwood not so and would get zero stars if I could give it.

This use to be a lovely place to eat , terribly disappointed, chicken flat bread dish wasn't marinated as indicated on menu. Tasted just like grilled chicken!. Friends ended up eating their meal on own as theirs was taken back ,for a different meal.No complementary offer.! de

This evening 20th May , we had a long awaited meal out with friends, and we were really looking forward to it.We were greeted and seated at our table , we were not asked if we had checked in on the NHS App.We ordered the house red wine , (which was Spanish !!! In an Italian restaurant)which was pleasant enough , but was far too cold to be served (should be served room temperature) We chose the Spicy Chicken in a flat bread with French fries , salad (which consisted of roughly chopped ice berg , quarters of tomotoe and pieces of red onion - no flair or imagination The chicken was so bland , tasteless , askedy the waitress/ manager To taste (she advised been marinating for 24 hrs don’t know what spices as there was no taste and chicken inside was just pure whiite, Offered to pay for the meal minus the chicken, She said we had to pay the full price if we did not choose another dish , explained we had come to eat with our friends and now we would be eating on our own !!!!!!!The lady at this point apologised , felt insincere , there was no customer service skills at all I

Love this Italian restaurant. One of my favourite eatery’s in Market Harborough. Food is delicious, friendly and polite staff. Great value. Relaxing atmosphere. Great range of vegetarian pastas and pizza’s. I’ve taken many friends here. Perfect for a romantic dinner for two to meal out with friends. There is plenty of parking outside. They are always busy so make a reservation. Generous portions. Can’t wait to come back. They also have takeaway option.

We are regular customers of Venetia and were so happy when it reopened. Great customer service team who go the extra mile to make sure that everyone is happy. The best pizzas and pasta dishes for miles around.

Absolutely awful !! Do not waste your time you’d be happier with a m&s microwave meal actually Lidl !! To start had giant prawns they weren’t giant there were frozen prawns and over cooked rubbery Goats cheese and onion was 2 pieces of goats cheese on over cooked sliced french bread Ok we went for the main been optimistic...Both pasta dishes tasted the same no taste water sauce frozen rubbery meat !! They say the coleslaw was homemade if it was then ow dear your brave if you try it !! Homemade wedges were frozen and basically rubbish ! Told we wasn’t happy they were totally shocked and just brought us bill for starters and drinks no real apology took food m away which was inedible! :(

Always use the takeaway part of Veneto's but tried restaurant for a family visit. Food lovely and service good only thing for us was the dessert menu was poor more choice needed.

Visited this little restaurant with 7 other people and it was a lovely family style place, the food came quick and service was efficient, the pizzas were delicious light fresh tasting dough and even though there was a lot of us all the food came out together, the menu has plenty of choice also. Service was also good, all in all a great place for meal. Would recommend

Handily located close to the centre of Market Harborough. Well cooked Italian dishes. Friendly and efficient staff.

Ordered pizza from PizzaMan, the take away section of Veneto. I had never ordered on the telephone and asked whether the calzone was in with the deal for two pizzas. Young man on the telephone said he needed to check, and then confirmed yes in with the deal. On collection I was told the order value was far greater and I asked for the breakdown. The owner/manager told me the prices. I explained the conversation had on the telephone and he basically told me that there is nothing he could do and the person on the phone was new. I explained that the deal should be upheld politely and the owner then angrily said fine but he was going to deduct the money from the young mans wages. The poor young man stood next to him looked quite upset and this was clearly done to try to embarrass me into saying I would pay the higher price which I did not. I hope that this take away learns how to speak to their customers properly and treat their staff better. Mistakes happen when new staff are taken on but this is not the customers fault and the staff should be trained properly and spoken to privately not as a public scene. That said pizza was tasty, but will not return.

I honestly don't know where to start. Let's begin with the fact that this is supposed to be a family friendly restaurant. I went there for lunch today with a friend and my 14 month old daughter.I will be the first to admit she was loud (due to that fact she had been up most of the night before and adding to that the fact she 14 months old and cannot communicate frustration in any other way than crying or screaming) while waiting for the food I tried to distract her best I could. We sang nursery rhymes played with toys I even took her outside for a little walk twice. When we asked for the bill (probably been there around an hour) the woman got my buggy so fast I said jokingly "trying to get rid of us are you" to which her response totally flabbergasted me! "Well she has been loud and restless and people are leaving because of her!" cue red rag to the proverbial.... If you thought my daughter was loud darling you have no clue! I asked what she suggested I do with a unhappy 14 month old and asked if she had kids herself and of they ever screamed. She responded by saying maybe I should give her something? What did she mean? Sedate my child? Gag her? She can't of meant a toy or attention as mentioned above this had beeen done. She also decided it would be the right time to tell me her kids were grown up. So they must of never been small or screamed in public. I told her that I would cause a scene that would empty her restaurant if she carried on with her thoughtless responses and I also apologised to other diners one of whom felt the need to tell me we hadn't ruined their lunch at all. Furthermore I don't know why of she had a problem she didn't address it before we ate. No instead she waited till we were practically out the door and still had to say something. Disgusting treatment from what is supposed to be I stress again a family friendly restaurant! I will never be going there again and by the way the aubergine (which I've had a few times) was swimming in a pool of oil on my plate.

Family visiting from London. Have no hesitation in choosing Veneto. Have never had a bad meal here. Great value especially at lunchtime.

I have been dating a lady online for sometime and met up for the first time here last night. we had a lovely meal and really clicked together in so much so that we are going to give it a go.The meal was excellent and the young lady who looked after us was very attentive and polite.An excellent night out and hopefully it will become a regular occurence.
