Great food & service Atmosphere is lovely

The food here was fine. Headed here for dinner and though there was nothing wrong with the food it wasn’t a stand out. The portions were slightly small. We ordered Oreo milkshakes after our dinner and they weren’t the usual thick shakes we’re used to.

The Eggs Benedict was amazing. Service was great. QR code table ordering so didn't feel rushed. It was great!

I recently visited Tambo Lounge in Newark and had their smashed avocado. Not only was the dish fresh and delicious, but the staff and kitchen team went above and beyond to accommodate my preferences by adjusting the ingredients to suit me. Their attentiveness and flexibility truly made the experience enjoyable. Highly recommend for great food and exceptional service!

Food was very nice and there was not too much of a wait. Ordered online and paid on the app. Virgin pina colada was very nice and creamy.

After walking around Newark in the hunt for a breakfast, we came across this lovely place. The breakfast was delicious, probably the closest to a homemade fry up I've ever had. Reasonably priced for the quality and quantity, lovely quirky place with good atmosphere. Really enjoyable

Our favourite place to hang out in Newark. Great coffee ( very important) Very friendly staff, good service and great atmosphere. The only reason I gave only four stars for food is because the menu is fairly limited. What they do serve is lovely.

Had a lovely breakfast here, nicely presented and beautifully cooked.

Food was delicious and reasonably priced, some good offers like a free dessert with selected meals. Decor is good, real candles add a nice touch. Music could be a little lower so people can have conversations without shouting.

Always wanted to try Tambo lounge, so I decided to have breakfast there this morning. At first I thought £10.50 plus £1.25 black pudding was a little on the steep side, but after finishing, I believe that price is justified! 10/10! Will come again.

Tasty food, very nice place, atmospheric, elegant. Prices are reasonable, although portions could be slightly larger. Tasty coffee. You can order via qr code, good for introverts. I recommend!

Staff are lovely. Food is good quality. Shame more people don't go as the atmosphere is down because of this. 22/07/23 update tapas and beers. Aug 23 Excellent as ever. There for brekkie. One of us had poached eggs and and they were perfect.

Food portions very small, not really value for money, toilets not great. Coffee was cold by the time our food arrived. Completed their online survey because they sent it too me but then they didn't care about my comments!! Their customer service team need a lesson in "listening to the customer"

This is a great place, it serves for a morning coffee stop, a nice lunch or an evening out - meal and drinks. Great for couples or groups, any age everyone fits in. You can book and probably should if a large group and on a weekend, but generally you should get a table easily, if you have to wait it's not usually long. It's a good size venue so plenty of tables. They have a full bar whatever your tipple including some lovely cocktails. You can order at the bar or at your table via app. Accessible for disabled and there's a small area of disabled parking on the street outside the front entrance. Staff are always pleasant, service can be a little slow at times. The food is always tasty and there's a good menu choice. Catering for vegetarian and vegan and gluten free options there's something for everyone.

Wonderful dog friendly place to eat & drink! Visited for brunch on Sunday with our puppy & food was delicious! Will definitely be coming again soon.

The atmosphere here is lovely, sometimes we have coffee and sometimes breakfast but always great.

my 1st visit 23rd August, highly recommend , ill be coming back, excellent food great prices and SALLY is a credit she was doing so much for customers , she was great. 6th January another great visit this time a group booking x excellent food , friendly staff an amazing experience relaxing no rush a great place to eat good value great food and drink menu highly recommend x. Really loved our trip to newark. Food was delicious and if ever in the area again would pop in.

Came for breakfast this morning, the staff were friendly but the food was not great, ordered 4 adult breakfasts and 2 kids breakfasts that were all luke warm bordering on cold, sausages were undercooked and the beans were heated in a microwave then went cold very quickly. The kids enjoyed their food but the adults did not. Won't be visiting again.

The inside decor is gorgeous, the food was well made and staff was lovely and cheerful too, I definitely recommend :)

Fries were fantastic, my friend said his sandwich was amazing. Good atmosphere all around and brilliant service to top it all off. A must go.

A bit of a wait to order food at the bar, but after that, very good. Drinks & cutlery brought quickly and the food was excellent. I had the Persian Lamb Flatbread, others had a tapas mix. We were all delighted with the food. Reasonably priced too.

Food & homemade drinks were great if a little overpriced... especially the halloumi fries. There's lots of choice & I would go again as menu is very interesting & varied. I had to wait a long time at the bar as there were plenty of staff behind there but only 1 woman taking drink & food orders along with the payment. She wasn't very happy looking or with her greeting tbh! The other 3 staff working behind the bar were busy making drinks orders but I felt ignored standing there waiting to be served by the surly woman. Even my di ning partner commented on me being ignored for a long time standing there! Not a good or inviting system in place 😕 when the youngsters are standing about it feels odd not to be served! Also, this weekend there was supposed to be 10% discount for steampunks in costume which I was & it was not offered or deducted from my bill..I learnt at the fashion show that the Tambo Lounge was 1 of the surrounding venues that had signed up for this so was disappointed to say the least 😐

We stopped by this place by chance, found it a cool and quirky place to have some nibbles and a couple of drinks.

Everything about the food was dry like it had been made for 30 mins just sitting there the coleslaw was just bagged salad with no sauce and the portion sizes are very very small I certainly won't be returning again unfortunately

I visit Tambo Lounge regularly, often with my partner and sometimes on my own. The atmosphere is fantastic, with a welcoming vibe. The food is consistently excellent, and the drinks are great. On my recent visit, I received a drink that tasted flat and seemed to lack the usual syrup, but one of the staff quickly noticed and kindly replaced it after I mentioned it. If you haven’t tried the chai latte, it’s one of the best I’ve had, especially when made by one of the team members—I wish I knew her name to mention here. Overall, Tambo Lounge has a warm ambiance, and the staff are friendly, kind, and professional. Highly recommend.

Only popped in because my friend and I wanted a coffee and stayed for the food defo recognize the talent in the kitchen I had one of the bugers and now I only want a burger in a brioche bun well done chef!

went in today and waited at the ‘wait to be seated’ sign but no one greeted us despite a member of staff sitting working facing us at a table and not acknowledging us. We sat down and ordered via the qr code and our food and cutlery was brought to us without a word spoken, just got a really miserable vibe. We visited at a very quiet time, and service was very quick, however they got one of our mains wrong (mistakes happen) but because of the vibe of the servers we felt awkward asking them to sort it. After we had eaten we had to leave quickly as there were two kids on their own (who hadn’t bought anything) shouting in the restaurant and being antisocial. when we left one of them shouted something incredibly rude and upsetting to us. I don’t know why the staff didn’t ask them to leave as they were not paying customers and they were causing an issue, but the staff clearly couldn’t care less. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone if you want decent service

Very good about allergens, some vegan options, good service, food and drink was high quality. Not cheap but worth the price

The service was a bit caotic. We ordered our food and drink through the app at the same time, but everything arrived one by one, which was brought to us with a different member of the staff. 🤷‍♂️ Churros were the best. Love that the place is dog friendly.

£5.35 for a soda water cordial and kids carton was terrible! Staff more bothered about going out for a fag than helping! £10 for a small slice of ciabatta bread for the smashed avodado!

This place never fails to deliver. My personal favourite is a fish finger sandwich but the menu is extensive. Go try it out. You normally don't need to book just walk in and find a table and you can order and book from the table if you choose to.

It's not a pub, but it doesn't feel like a cafe, and I found it a bit noisy. But the food was really good and not expensive. Worth a visit for lunch.

We have just held our wedding reception at the Tambo Lounge and I cannot say enough good things about it, the whole staff went above and beyond for us, Ann especially was incredible and couldn’t do enough for us. Our guests commented on how lovely the place was and the food was incredible, so many of our guests said they will be returning ! Even our cake maker said he loved it and will return for a meal, the whole process was so easy and affordable compared to most wedding receptions so would recommend to anyone who wants great food and a cosy relaxing and intimate setting. Crazy busy.... went on a Saturday afternoon to find it mobbed. Then, so was town. Food was good, but service was slow due to volume. Good place for dogs, families and all the important friends.

5 star for this popular place. Food great and not too over priced, staff friendly and seating always available. Been a few times now and use it to meet friends to have a bite to eat and catch up as the atmosphere is great, location is great and overall very pleasant place. Would recommend this to all ages, and is suitable for wheelchair access as on street level.

Visted today on first impressions nice clean tidy place .Had 2 breakfasts and 2 pots of tea unfortunately took cups back as they were dirty asked for 2 clean one's but person behind bar argued one was clean eventually got 2 clean one's. No brown bread with breakfast had to have white,when breakfast came looked very nice and good quality unfortunately very cold beans,tomato, bacon ,sausage apart from egg and hash browns they were the only things warm.Girls asked us if everything was ok told her no she said tell the chef but nothing done had to eat cold I'm diabetic very disappointing 😕 so was my wife.

We stumbled upon this place and I'm so glad we did. Brennan (apologies if this is incorrect) was very attentive, very helpful and polite to me, my mother and my young daughter. He even bought my daughter a teddy to play with whilst we were eating. The food was quick, reasonably priced and very tasty. We will definitely be visiting again!

The food wad lovely. I had the cowboy burger with beef brisket on it was delicious! It came with homemade coleslaw and fries.

We first saw the Menu in a restaurant window ,it was Extensive and we said d it was a shame we could eat there as we had our dog ,so wandered off and I noticed another door with the entrance to the tiled area inside a a glasses area saying that DOGS WELCOME so we sat down and the waitress said there was water and gave our dog and treat too, the service was very good and two lovely people served us with a smile

Dropped in for a coffee this morning. Was "greeted" by a very surly person behind the bar. Order brought to the table by someone equally unfriendly. A smile when dealing with the public costs nothing! Makes one begrudge frequenting an establishment. Will not return! In stark contrast to the Cosy Club (sister company I believe) which I went to earlier in the week, and where I received a warm, polite and hospitable welcome.

Tambo ticked all our boxes this morning! A hearty vegan breakfast, proper coffee and dog friendly! Had an epic vegan brunch that will see us both through the day and Charlie enjoyed his dog treat and water from the bar. So sad that we really didn’t have room for any cake. Thanks so much!

The food was lovely. Great that you can take in a well behaved dog 🐕 with you loved that. All of the Cocktails are a bit overpriced for size especially espresso martini. Lovely sized place however and plenty of room and good vibes and went mid week early evening and quiet. Four people just under £80 for 4 mains and one alcoholic drink.

If you are looking for polite customer care and a great environment look around in Newark. I sat on a table two guys were cleaning the tables, they saw me but I was totally ignored, not even a smile. I went to the bar and a girl who was on the till was super cold and grumpy. I asked for the soup of the day and she replied in a rude way : “we don’t have it!!!” And looked down and started to do something else. Friday, May 10th lunchtime at 12:15 and zero soups? Really!? And why not answer it in a more professional and friendly way? Advice to management: train your staff properly because the place is nice but this kind of behavior is unacceptable.

Popped in here for lunch with our Labradoodle. Friendly staff usual good GF options that are a hallmark of the lounges. Will definitely return next time we’re in Newark.

This was 1st the first time i have been here. Meet my daughter here for breakfast. Excellent all round... great breakfast, great service and lovley atmosphere around the place.🙂🙂🙂

We visited at 5pm on a Saturday, we did get a table for 2 but we were lucky as the restaurant was nearly full. We ordered via the QR code on the table, drinks came quickly and the food around 10 mins later. I had the vegan Caribbean cauliflower curry and my partner had the vegan bang bang cauliflower. Both were excellent, the curry was mildly spicy with lime rice, the best vegan curry I've ever had. Sadly 3 out of 4 of the vegan desserts were unavailable but my partner had the warm chocolate brownie which he described as delicious. The atmosphere was pleasant, the staff were polite and attentive and the prices are average. We would definitely visit again.

Just went in for a snack, and a beer both of which were good and we enjoyed the atmosphere, cleverly busy and private.

I love this place but just recently the customer service off some of the staff is atrocious, my friend booked a table for eight and when we arrived the table wasn't reserved, the girl/lady that we first spoke to was not helpful and quite rude, we had an email with the booking but she wasn't interested, if it wasn't for the other member of staff who was there we would probably still be waiting. There were no half pint glasses available,it wasn't busy when one of us went to the bar we said it's because they were all on our table, nobody came to clear them up, food came out at different times so we all didn't eat together. We had a great time in the end but think customer service needs working on
