Very delicious fish and chips .

Really nice fish and chips . Mostly cooked fresh .

The food always tastes delicious, but the service doesn’t seem to work well. All the time when we order from their website the order is not ready, they start to make it just when the customer arrives at shop, which is bad for us.

Whilst the food was nice ended up £27.50 out of pocket for 5 veggie burgers not in stock purchased through just eat. Collected rest of order (nearly £100 worth) and told refund needed to be done through just eat, but just eat refusing this as payment contract is with the vendor (restaurant) and just a delivery contract with them. So £27.50 paid for nothing supplied and now entirely unable to get a refund. Opened a complaint with just eat, refused. Opened a complaint with PayPal (no response till 20th July). This is also after also spending £40 elsewhere for suitable vegetarian options (as no other vegetarian substitutions available) Need to brush up on just eats consumer law contract before refusing customers partial refund and advising it needs to be done through just eat, which is incorrect.

Stopped in for a pie and chips. The food was really excellent and good value for money

Found this place on TomTom. Parking available. Fish cooked to order. Great chips and really, really nice curry sauce too. A perfect meal. They also do kebabs but it was a Friday 😂, so an excellent fish was NOT a poor substitute. I’ll try one of those next time I’m passing and hungry.

Ordered few times from here. Chips were greasy pie was cold. Other times order was wrong. Phone order to pick up salad missing on kebab no cheese on chips that we asked for or mayonnaise Couldn't be bothered to go back went to another chippy.

Chips were undercooked and horrible, beans smelt and tasted funny, so threw most of it in the bin.

Really poor experience - ordered food on the shops own website (thinking that they would not have to be paying commission to the likes of just eat) after 50 minutes after no food being delivered I phoned and was advised a drive was just collecting the order. It took another 20 minutes for the food to arrive (the shop is less than a 5min drive), the driver then started to complain that I had over paid! (cash on delivery) To add insult to injury - there was items missing from the order! Luckily there is plenty of other chip shops in Newark to use in the future

Haddock was really dry, Cod was a bit better but best of our order was the Cod bites. Chips were OK. Not the best chippy and wouldn't use it again

Staying locally in our caravan. We came across this place on a Google search. Freshly cooked food while we waited. Ordered the fish meal deal. The portions were huge! Fish was the best we've tasted, not greasy like a lot of places. Curry sauce was thick & lovely. Thank you

Chance found us this chippy...Travelling to Newark for a bit of Christmas late night shopping, only to find disappointedly that last night was the last night for late night shopping...After a visit to the Range n didn't really want to head back into Newark town centre, Google suggested Harley's as the closest, so we decided to take a chance..First impression was great, the shop was clean, the male server was friendly, chatty n offered to cook anything we wanted if we were prepared to wait, the shop was aesthetically pleasing to look at, Harley's provides a good menu choice n there is street parking outside the shop..Good portion size of their regular chips, curry sauce had a lovely taste n for three meals it was reasonably priced too..will absolutely make a return visit as I'm curious about their chip wrap 😊

Turned up Friday teatime, fish cooked fresh in front of me. Excellent - best fish we’ve had in a while, batter was lovely and fish was very good size. Ordered two fish, regular chips, curry sauce and mushy peas. All very good, will definitely go back.

Ordered chips and they asked for salt and vinegar after saying no they proceeded to put salt and vinegar of them if they can’t do the job don’t be there

After being closed for weeks, we couldn't wait to have fish and chips. We ordered online yet the food was left on top of the counter whilst they served 3 other customers. We got home to find the food was cold. The fish quality was poor, no fish just batter. We won't be going again. Plus they added a £1 on top of the order we had placed online to collect.

Deliveroo order. The wrong food was sent and what did arrive was inedible. Burnt chicken grisle not the donor meat we were expecting. Chips were nice but the rest went in the bin

Fish was dry and tasteless. Chips were very pale and soggy. The “ Halloumi” burger on the menu is actually a beef burger!?! Won’t be returning. Would recommend Fryers Club instead.

Unfortunately the previous owners have had to move on to Mobile and event catering only. Had a kebab on my recent visit under new ownership. Perfectly serviceable, but disappointed I couldn't enjoy the excellent fish and chips I've previously really enjoyed under the last ownership.

Great fish and chips , very clean and hygienic shop . You can ring your order through and pick up at a time to suit . Car parking right outside the shop . Only open on Fridays , support this shop , would definitely recommend .

Best chips, best fish, best curry sauce! Honestly, I have never tasted such nice chip shop chips from anywhere else. Highly recommend anyone to try this place.

We won a voucher for 2 x fish & chips. They were freshly cooked, & absolutely delicious. The best fish & chips we've had for a long while.

Google recommended it. So we checked out the menu, Gluten free, yes, so we placed an online order, turned up at opening time greeted by friendly staff a lovely clean shop, fresh cooked food, fish lovely batter crispy, chips perfect tartar sauce, mushy peas, curry sauce, all yummy. And we've still got chips left over for tomorrow. If you don't believe me check it out for yourself. 👍

Tasty fresh food nice staff Would be five star but the preservation agent that is put on the chips to stop them going brown while being stored isn't thoroughly cleaned off ruining some of the chips.

Best fish I’ve had from a chip shop in a long time! Lovely and crispy and so tasty! The halloumi was also fab! Chips not quite to our liking due to texture (perhaps overcooked or potato variety?) but still nice. Would def recommend and lovely friendly staff too. Good luck guys!

Struggle to get decent fish n chips in Newark. So Harley's was the next plaice to try. I can honestly say that these were the best fish n chips I have had in years. Good sized portions, proper crispy batter and no heavy, greasy afterness. Friendly staff and nice and clean. During these difficult times they have a good social distancing policy in plaice too. I've found my new go to chippy.

Very good quality chippy, being a traveller we come across some real stinkers, and it was nice for a change to find a good one, went two nights in a row whilst working in newark and will go there again when working in newark! Highly recommended “the brummie”

Great fish (crsipy batter / lovely fresh cod) and chips (crispy chips) both my self and my girlfreand were impressed honestly, I simply was in town for a convention within the area and the food was industry exceeding would recommend keep it up lads! Also the renovation was worth it 🤣 looks great.

I was dubious when Harley's opened, as a few chippies have come and gone in that spot, and none of them were much good. However, Harley's is different. The chips are first class, chunky, crispy, just delicious. They don't scrimp on the salt and vinegar either, like some places. The lads in the shop are lovely and very helpful. I just wish they did a LITTLE bit more for those of us that don't like fish - although the battered halloumi is lovely.

Great fish and chip shop- really capturing the heart and art of a British Classic dish. The shop was clean and tidy, and the owner is a lovely friendly guy to chat to. The chips were delicious, cooked to perfection and the cod bites light and flakey, just as they should be. Can also definitely reccomend their curry sauce. Parking was easy, there's spaces rights outside but even if they are filled you can just grab on street parking round the corner. It's also good on the conscience knowing the potatoes are locally sourced and the fish sustainably caught.

Fantastic! Having not had fish and chips in Newark for over 6 years due to being unable to consume gluten, I was more than pleasantly surprised. Perfect fish and chips, best I have had since Miller's closed many years ago. The family enjoyed their meals to and say that nowhere could beat your chips. We look forward to returning and for once enjoying the same meal together. Thank you.

Absolutely gorgeous proper fish and chips

This was a superb fish and chips. The haddock was perfectly cooked with exceptionally crispy batter. Chips were really quite good, skins on I believe? The portions were huge so we reheated some today and they were still delicious!! Very friendly staff and well worth a visit.

Best fish and chips I've eaten and the fish cakes are absolutely stunning. This is not your every day fish and chip shop these guys have really taken the local chippy to another level, This is restaurant quality food. 👌👌

Beautiful cooked food, amazingly Crispy fish and the chunky hand cut chips😍😍😍😍 ohhhh my god. Fluffy on the inside and Crispy on the outside. Never actually eaten fish and chips till now, but fish Thursday is going to be a weekly thing. Please do not listen to the ridiculous pleb giving the one star. I honestly think they have no clue what decent food is. Keep up the good work guys ❤️

2nd visit tonight. The excellence is consistent. It has been a very long time since I had Fish n Chips of this quality, anywhere. The proprietors are clearly passionate of what they serve and it shows in every aspect, cooked to order fresh. Incredible crispy batter surrounding succulent perfectly cooked fresh Cod, the chips are outstanding restaurant standard and above. If you don't make the effort coming you will miss out on a superb Chippy dinner. 10/10

Just had fish and chips from Harleys all I can say is fabulous, lovely light crispy batter , home made tartare sauce was yummy and what can I say about the halloumi awesome . Good luck with your new venture and we will be back soon.
