My wife and I have just been to Jaipur for the 1st time.As we have moved from Birmingham we found indian restaurants & take aways locally a big disappointment. We have tried a number of places & yet to find 1 that gets to anywhere near the standard that we had become accustomed to, until now! We ordered a chicken pakora to share as our starters and we were certainly not disappointed with it the chicken was as tender as you could wish for the batter being very light & fluffy although the onion salad could be a little more plentiful the mango chutney was rich & mint dip had a little sharpness but absolutely lovely. For our mains I chose my usual chicken tikka pathia the sweetness &richness of flavour was just as it should be but not overly hot i in the past ask for the spice to be toned down a little but on this occasion i didn't bother, while my wife chose the butter chicken that was as smooth as silk with no spice just how she likes it with a vegetable pilau rice of which there could have been a little more & a peshwari naan that was so light & delicious it could easily be the highlight had it not been for the quality of the rest of the meal. The food was amazing as was the welcome by the service we received, if I could say an area to be improved upon it would be that the ladies & gents toilets were very cold but all in all a great experience. We will return with friends sometime soon.
Thankyou to all at Jaipur
Stayed for one night and had a fabulous evening meal. Wednesday night steak night. 8 oz steak chunky chips with mushroom sauce and salad with a glass of Merlot thrown in for good measure. All for under £20. Excellent food and value. Good choice of ales and top notch service from everyone. Thoroughly recommend

I love Sinatra's. Plain and simple. I've only been a few times but everytime the food has been delicious. With reasonable prices and great service, it's a top recommendation in the area.
It's atmosphere is that of a traditional, homey Italian restaurant. It's great for any date night, family dinner, celebration of girls night catch up.
The pub has shut for good and been stripped of all it's interior. A great shame as this should be a thriving pub with a cosy interior, dining room and great gardens, all on the C2C cycle route.
Fortunately, the Black Lion at Ireby, just up the road, remains open.
Staying in Aby village for a week's holiday and had to try the local pub. Exterior looks a bit "tired" but don't be put off - inside it's friendly. cosy and lots of character. Excellent choices of dishes on the menu and "daily specials" board - we especially appreciated the choice of gluten-free options and Dawn was happy to go through each option in detail. Good portions and served hot! Very tasty and wholesome. Wide range of dessert options too and it was evident from conversations with other diners, that Dawn would also be happy to adapt these just to suit individual requirements. Obviously very deserving of the many awards over many years.
I flew all the way from Australia to England just to eat at this restaurant — and it exceeded every expectation.
From the moment I walked in, the aroma alone told me I was in for something special. The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance between cosy and refined, with warm lighting, friendly staff, and the kind of buzz that comes from a kitchen doing everything right.
Now the food — incredible. Every dish was a masterclass in flavour and authenticity. The butter chicken was rich and velvety, the lamb rogan josh fell apart with a spoon, and the garlic naan was so perfectly blistered I’d come back just for that. Spices were bold without overpowering, and everything tasted freshly prepared with real care.
Special mention to the house-made chutneys and the mango lassi — both unforgettable.
You know a meal is extraordinary when you’ve crossed hemispheres for it and are already thinking about your next visit. If you’re in the UK (or even if you’re not) — make this place your next destination.
The best attentive staff, it’s like visiting old friends.
Excellent food! I’m vegan and they prepared a special dish. Massive portions. I know they do takeaway but if always want to dine in as it’s not far off perfect!

The food is okay, but the main issue is the service—it was very disappointing. They only accepted cash at the time I visited, which was very inconvenient for me and staff were very rude.
