Stopped off here en route south. Easy parking nearby and what a gem of an independent cafe!! Amazing food, delicious coffee and welcoming staff! We will be back!! Amazing!

The food was amazing, the staff were very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.

A special thank you to the two ladies who served me and my friend yesterday and were happy to go through all the vegan substitutions on the menu. The granola bowl was wonderful and I look forward to coming back soon.

Excellent little coffee shop. Drinks are amazing, customer service even better. Love these small independent coffee shops. Way better than the bigger chains that offer you low quality products at extortionate prices. Love the atmosphere and the pleasant customer service from staff. Was passing by for a meeting, but if I ever was passing by again I would love to go back again. Keep up the good work!

A wonderful atmosphere, very welcoming and the food was great! The sandwhich (vegetarian, full of flavour), carrot cake (with swiss meringue buttercream, my favourite) and the coffee was divine. Yet to try the scone. Looking forward to my next visit!

We booked an afternoon tea for two. It was freshly prepared on our arrival within twenty minutes. Including scones jam of choice and cream. Not to forget the ample selection of freshly hand crafted cakes. An excellent standard of afternoon tea, worth every penny. Every consideration was given to choice and allergies.

We popped in for lunch in the run upto Christmas. Very busy but they made room for us and we had a lovely lunch! Food and drinks were delicious, and staff very friendly. Would highly recommend 😊

Just tried their weekend supper menu, ordered the Birria Tacos and J.F.C. Never had food as good as this and it being so local means I'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!

What a lovely place ! If we ever fancy an afternoon tea, this would be my first port of call. The sandwiches are great and the cakes are just amazing. You can also just pop in for a coffee or a cake, which I have done quite a few times with mates and they have all loved the cakes as well 👍Added to that the owner is absolutely lovely ! Certainly worth a visit, if you are in the area !!

On a wet and dreary Sunday (23/09), this cafe I found serves the best bacon ciabatta to date, topped off with home made brown sauce which is crazy good!!. A lovely little cafe serving quality food. Staff are friendly and service is 10/10. Recommended 5* 👍🏽🙏🏽

Visited this coffee shop multiple times when I’m local to the area but unfortunately they are progressively more rude each visit. I want to support local businesses but without basic customer service I can’t see myself returning to this establishment.

I am a regular customer The Loquacious Baker, and in the three years I have been visiting the standard of product has been consistently outstanding. Notwithstanding this, the coffee shop has become a real pillar of the community, with every visit, being an opportunity to integrate and meet new people. I couldn’t recommend more! It’s a Burbage must-do!!

Fabulous little independent cafe! Small but obviously very popular as they had another group waiting outside for a table. We only had two wait 5 minutes. Coffee, brunch food and brownies were absolutely delicious (I especially liked the homemade ketchup). A really special place where the service was friendly and even other customers were welcoming and chatty! Would definitely revisit!

Stopped by this place on the way to Manchester. What a hidden gem! The cafe is on the small side but clean and well appointed. Also, the food was fantastic! We had a bacon ciabatta and a hummus and avo sandwich. The cakes looked great as well although we didn’t try any. Coffee was proper speciality. 100% recommended if you are in the area.

This used to be such a pretty little cafe. Very cosy and comfy with lovely food. I hadn't been since the covid lockdowns so it was a bit of a shock. Gone are the little tables and chairs - replaced by box benches painted white (not even a cushion to add a bit of padding) and basic tables. No longer somewhere I'd want to go to impress a friend. I popped in with a friend while we where out walking for a cuppa. The teas where served in plastic mugs with no handles. At £2:60 each that's shocking. Tea should always be served in proper crockery or better yet bone china cups. I wouldn't recommend it.

This place was such a little gem to find! The brunch was amazing and the brownies… my goodness were super delicious. The service was great and although it was small, we didn’t feel rushed and enjoyed slowly sipping on our coffee and teas! We will be definitely returning!

Birthday treat for me with friends. Had the French toast with caramelized bananas with a delicious latte, absolutely amazing. Definitely recommend for a brunch or light lunch.

Gorgeous little cafe with excellent coffee and fantastic bakes. Couldn’t believe how many brownie, blondie and cake flavours they had on offer for such a tiny place. (The baker was more than happy to talk me through them all or I’d still be there trying to decide!) I drove half an hour to get here and will definitely be back for more soon.

Lovely little cafe with great coffee, tasty sausage rolls and an incredible selection of cakes. The owner was very friendly and clearly passionate about what she does and being part of the community. There's no WiFi though, so if you're going to work from here you'll have to hotspot from your phone.

Want the best cappuccino in the world well visit here! The food is made with love and passion and everything from breakfast, to the soups to the posh fish ginger sandwiches have been a total treat! I ordered 8 specialised cupcakes for a friends BIG birthday, they were truly amazing and were decorated with fresh flowers, I chose the flavour and the colours of the flowers, my friend was totally blown away! Afternoon tea was my latest experience.... wow!!!! I have been very lucky to experience a few of these over my years but this was truly the very best. The freshness, the variety, the amount and listening to Angie enthusiastically explain each item and then eating it was a sheer joy! My friend’s face who is vegetarian and coeliac was joyful, Angie had made everything gluten free and her plate was identical to a non gluten free. Angie thank you for making me so welcome on all my visits if I’m by myself with friends or my girlies.

The best thing I could say about this place, is that I cannot wait to return. I went in for a coffee, ended up buying two amazing brownies and NEARLY staying for lunch. It's only a small place but there is a lovely authentic atmosphere, friendly service and excellent coffee. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area or even if you are not.

Literally couldn’t have been more lovely - they stayed open a little later to accommodate us - we had a beautiful Prosecco Afternoon tea- which was up there with the best afternoon tea I’ve ever had!!! Sandwiches fresh and delicious, crisp salad, DELICIOUS quiche, lovely scone and the cakes and chocolate Mousse were all delicious!! We couldn’t finish it and had to pack it up to bring home and still couldn’t help but get a few extra things to take home to try (oink oink) heeded something special for a special girls engagement celebration and the Loquacious Baker didn’t disappoint! Thank you so much ❤️

My friend treated us to an afternoon tea for four and it was the best one I have ever had. Sad that we could not eat at the cafe just yet as the owner is very friendly and welcoming and I am sure would have made it a memorable experience . Despite that everything was amazing, especially the cakes and the scones and well actually the sandwiches as well. They were traditional with a twist that made them interesting yet not too fancy. The scones, which I had to take home, were big yet light and were still fresh and tasty the next day. And now to the cakes, oh the cakes, they were fabulous. No repeat flavours and big enough to share so that everyone could taste all of them if required. My particular favourite was the Bakewell one followed by the Snickers one. I have previously visited the cafe for a takeaway and had a coffee that was lovely and had my first experience of a Duffin (cross between a doughnut and a muffin) which was really tasty and took the best of both originals and made something even better. Good luck can't wait for you to open and to come in and try some of the savoury dishes that I have seen on the website..

Just enjoyed their afternoon tea. Whilst you can have it delivered, we just picked it up 😀 We thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. Some lovely teas and superb cakes/scones. Added to that the owner was really lovely and friendly when we collected it. Well worth a visit !

We were in Burbage came across this place, what a great find, great service, superb food, it is nice to find a place this small and unspoilt by commercialism. If you are in Burbage try this place you will not be disappointed. A note to the owners do not change, do not get bigger, you are doing great

Some of us met here for coffee and enjoyed the table in the window. The toasted teacakes were delicious and there was plenty of butter. The coffee is hot and tasty, while the bacon sandwich tasted good too. Everyone was very pleasant serving us and the place was popular with locals too.

Went in here for a pre-booked afternoon tea - they have many different sizes but the better half had booked the largest. Oh. My. God. It was huge - everyone (well the other 4 tables) all turned as this multi-tiered behemoth of an afternoon tea came out - with some partners instantly disappointed at the two tier effort in front of them we began to consume. Freshly made and very tasty, nothing we had disappointed, and we left (very) full and on a equivalently sized sugar rush. Anything unfinished can be taken home in a box and we did so. Highly recommend the biggest afternoon tea - if you're disappointed in it there's something wrong with you!

With only 5 tables it’s not surprising that it’s a chatty cafe altho loquacious is maybe a bit ott?!! Cakes look nice altho always wary when in a small hot space how fresh they will stay. Nothing really distinctive but nice for casual lunch.

A touch expensive but worth every penny. Called in for breakfast and was certainly glad I did. Quality produce used, plentiful quantity wise and very tasty. A great addition to the area as it was getting difficult to find a quality breakfast in the Hinckley/Burbage area.

We recently visited the coffee shop. I have to say the owner was very rude there was a little issue with the food that when pointed out she did not like it at all. The other member of staff was really nice and if it hadn't have been for owner the place would have go a higher review.

Lovely visit with my daughter today, hot chocolate and a delicious cake!! The ceiling with the flowers on is amazing !! Lovely friendly staff too. I will bring my mum in for afternoon tea soon!!

First time for me at Loquacious Baker, for a special "Spice Night" evening event where we had an Indian dining experience. Fantastic hosting by Cathy and the 4 course meal was delicious with the chef being very entertaining throughout. We definitely plan to return during normal hours for brunch one morning and keep an eye out for future events.

Beautiful little gem of a find. Randomly found this place when searching for a caffeine hit. Pleasantly surprised with how lovely the shop and staff were. Ended up buying cupcakes to bring back for the whole family, which went down a treat!I/we will definitely be coming back for more of the same.

£6 for a tiny slice of quiche and a bit of salad!!!! 2 sliced baby tomatoes, 4 thin cut slices of cucumber and a few leaves of rocket. Well and truly had my pants down here 😲 make sure you avoid getting ripped off from this place like I did.

I took my wife here for breakfast on her birthday. We both had the full english and a cappuccino each. We arrived at about 9:30am on a Friday morning. We were greeted kindly and our order was taken promptly. The wait time was about 10 mins which was fine and the food arrived very presentable and hot. Great cappuccinos too! We are definitely going to be back again. Price was very reasonable too. I think we paid about £18 all in. Only thing missing was sausages on out breakfast but that was ok with us.

I have visited this place a few times now and have always found the staff friendly and welcoming. I have had afternoon tea which was delish - couldn't manage it all so they packed up the rest for me to take home! All the cakes and pastries look awesome and I hope to visit again soon to work my way through the rest of them!

Quaint and sophisticated set up. Table height sockets for charging phones or laptops and free WiFi. Clean, bright and welcoming. The cup cakes were delicious and moist. Definitely will be going back.

Lovely place went in for a breakfast and a coffee had to wait 25 minutes for my breakfast and it was so small but cost 7 pound for 2 rash of bacon and scrambled egg not happy

I stopped here while visiting from the US and it is absolutely fabulous! I’m a coffee drinker myself and they do have coffees however I decided to go with a friends recommendation and get the “afternoon tea” It was SO SO SO Delicious If you find yourself in Burbage or anywhere near it DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and visit the Loquacious Baker. You won’t be disappointed!

Having just moved to the area, myself and my partner had to try this café for a spot of breakfast. Understandably so, it was quite busy both for takeaway drinks and cakes and for eating and drinking in. The friendly staff quickly welcomed us to a table and a menu inside. Despite being busy, the service was quick and efficient for taking orders and serving. We both had the hazelnut latte, I had a loquacious breakfast and my boyfriend had the brioche toast, both of which were delicious! Will definitely be back again.

A lovely little cafe in Burbage village. They serve breakfast until 11.30am when the lunch menu swaps in. You’re made to feel very welcome and there is a nice choice of food including the cake counter with fresh made unusual cakes, I had the Belgium waffle topped toffee and fudge cake. Or you might consider the brioche french toast with maple syrup, which is definitely a winner.

I have been in here twice with my friend, both times we had lunch and it’s a lovely little cafe. Very modern, very clean. The food is delicious and every time you go if you keep your receipt you get 10% off your next order. They sell lovely cakes and jams. They do a golden years menu too for the over 65’s buy one lunch get one free. Would definitely recommend and I will return.

What a find! Small but perfectly formed tea rooms. Treated to an afternoon tea by my Son and all I can say is WOW. An abundance of goodies both savoury and sweet....had to have a doggy bag as i couldn't eat it all...super staff too. I'll be back.

Living in Burbage it’s been hard to find somewhere to enjoy a decent cup of coffee and freshly cooked food BUT NO MORE!!! This little gem (it only seats 12) has emerged recently and is a place I visit frequently for a ‘flat white’ and breakfast or lunch ... however their cakes always look so amazing but as I’m on Slimming World to date I’ve managed to resist them BUT I’ve weakened on the cheese and bacon straws and sausage rolls both ‘amazing’ ... Amanda (the chef) and Cathy (the owner) are both great cooks and are extremely accommodating to my exacting demands, as I said I’m doing SW so I have scrambled egg, baked beans, brown toast no butter or crusts took a bit of negotiating that one ... had to use all my charm ... Ann Marie is becoming a very skilled Barista ... just don’t ask her to do anything too complicated on the coffee top ... sometimes you have to use your imagination as to what it is but it’s very entertaining !!! If you visit at the weekend you’ll be lucky enough to meet ‘Hattie’ ... she’s shortly moving to London to start her training as a pastry chef. They have a great Facebook Page and Website so I’d encourage you to check them out and pay them a visit ... YOU WON’T BE DISAPPOINTED... Ohhhh and they also do a Loyalty Card as well

Have been a few times now, always served with a smile, and all the food has been amazing. Last visit was on Tuesday and I had the salmon with poached egg on toasted bread. It was delicious, as was the Victoria sandwich cake to follow.The choice of coffees is great and are the best tasting around.If you haven’t tried it yet then I recommend that you do. Top place in Burbage & Hinckley.

Enjoyed a freshly baked scone and a delicious coffee. My sister was very impressed. Although hidden away off the beaten track, we managed to locate it. Staff very accommodating and friendly. Will visit again.

Stopped here on the way to Nottingham on the motorway. The very short diversion away from the motorway was worth it. A real gem of a find. Delicious food, friendly staff, beautifully decorated with attention to detail. The atmosphere was relaxed and homely. I had a chicken pesto melt and was too full for cake, but the cakes looked really delicious.

Second visit, so thought I’d add my few pennies worth. Staff are great, nice & friendly. Decor is great, lovely ambiance. The Double Choc Cup Cake & Hot Chocolate were really so good, thank you!Good place in the village to pop in for a drink & cake.
