CUSTOMERS TALK ABOUT DISHES WITH..cakecoffee

comment_iconOpinions

We came on Sunday lunch with our motorbike obsessed 3 year old. There was only tuna paninis/sandwiches available which was not suitable due to allergies. We ordered a coffee and had two juices, I went to grab two glasses to find they were freshly washed. I said “oh they’re very warm” to be told “yep” by the server, no ‘sorry about that’ then the other server plonked down our coffee expecting us to take it to the table despite myself balancing drinks/hot glasses and my partner with hands full of our 3 year old. She plonked the coffee down without even a smile. It’s meant to be an experience, if triumph want people to have a pleasant one they should probably look at reviewing their staff.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our factory tour last year, but unfortunately didn't have time to sample the lovely looking "café", so decided this Sunday, to make the 120 mile round trip on our Rocket 111 to meet up with another couple of friends at the Triumph factory "cafe". On entering the officially signposted "café" we joined the short queue to order food and drinks. On reaching the head of the queue I enquired as to the choice of fillings in the advertised hot foods on the board behind the counter. I was told by the woman serving, that all the hot foods were in the display at the beginning of the queue. I apologised to her for not realising this and was very sternly informed that this was NOT a "café", it is a SHOP ! She then looked at the gentleman behind me in the queue, raised her eye brows and tutted ! Now this may seem a little pathetic of me to complain, but for me, it ruined the whole experience ! I will certainly NEVER visit this "café" or should I say SHOP ever again and would never recommend it either. !

I visited the Triumph coffee shop, @ the Triumph factory, Hinkley, with my better half, to grab breakfast and then wander around the shop/museum. There was 1 person in the cafe, talking to the 2 members of staff at a table, and there was no greeting or interaction at all. When one of the girls decided to go behind the counter to serve, it felt immediately as though we were putting her out. 2 cappuccino's, a bacon bap and toastie at nearly £15, I can live with (just), if the person serving me gives more than complete silence. The coffee was placed in front of me (perfectly good coffee), and I was told the food would be a few minutes. Not a problem! However, having sat down, not 10ft from the counter, she shouted that the food was ready, rather than go to the effort of bringing it to the table. I guess this was as she was so keen to get back to conversing with her colleague, and the young man in cycle gear, who was obviously more important than customers. The Triumph factory is only 18 miles from home, and would be a great meeting place, for myself, and a couple of biking buddies, who live about 25 miles the other side of Hinkley. However, I will struggle to get enthused, if anyone suggests it. What a shame, that this was not such a great part of the Triumph experience, on this occasion.

Visited the Triumph Experience today which was excellent and then popped in the cafe. Ordered two cups of tea and went to pay with an 'old' but still legal paper £20 note. The cafe assistant refused to accept my money and she said they'd been told not to accept the paper £20 notes. The supervisor came and said the management had told them not to take them. These notes do not expire until 30 September NEXT YEAR - they are currently legal tender! They couldn't explain why they wouldn't accept my money. Luckily my friend had enough to pay. Won't bother with this place again though will definitely visit the Experience in future.
