Bombay Sweet Centre (West Bridgford) in Rushcliffe

Lovely helpful young ladies in the shop. So kind and patient with customers. Lovely food, well labelled and catering for food intolerances. One of the few local places we can rely on for gluten free food.

I would say that the price is on the higher / premium side, however this is offset by generous portion sizes (Both the large and classic sizes are generous). But my word, it is worth it! I've been half a dozen times now and tried a variety of different items and have been impressed by them all. Rich flavours, high quality ingredients that are cooked well and I love that you take them away cold and heat them yourself (they can also warm them up for you). For around £30 I can feed myself for 3 or 4 meals and as it starts cold you don't get that stale takeaway taste / consistency when you heat them up the days after. Some highlights for me; Chilli Jam Mushrooms, Lamb Samosas, Butter Chicken, and enormous Onion Bhajis.

Very nice, lovely and helpful staff and lovely food. My favourite is the veg samosa, it is the best in the world.

Best chaat outside India, flavours and spicing are very well judged. Friendly service and happy to explain the food in detail. Waiting to try the cardamom lassi, but it was all finished, however the mango lassi was fabulous - great fruit flavour. Take away or eat at the table outside, but don't forget the chaat!

I haven't visited this shop/takeaway without there being a queue out of the door, but the food is so good and such good value I really don't mind. Nuff said👍😁

Visited here with work, had driven past this place many times and finally visited and ordered food, the staff were great, the food was fantastic and the staff member gave us a leaflet explaining how to heat it up. Can’t recommend them enough and the food is delicious.

Delicious food, lovely atmosphere and great staff. The only reason I’m waiting to be served every time, is because there are so many people queueing every time I go there but the staff deal with their eager customers swiftly and professionally. The queues are there for a reason, they serve authentic, tasty, high quality Indian food. I cannot recommend Bombay Delicatessen enough!

The chicken tikka is delicious! All of the dishes I have had from the Bombay delicatessen have been tasty. It's hard to walk by the shop and not stop in for a yummy snack to take away.

So, I checked out Bombay Deli the other day, and man, was it something else! From the moment I walked in, I could smell those amazing spices, you know, the kind that instantly makes your mouth water? The store was super organized, which made it a breeze to find all the stuff I was looking for – fresh naan, spices, you name it. And the staff? So friendly and helpful! They even gave me some cooking tips. But let's talk about the real star – the food! Everything was top-notch – fresh produce, tasty snacks, and those ready-to-eat meals? Out of this world. Seriously, whether you're a pro in the kitchen or just curious about Indian food, you gotta check out Bombay Deli!

The chat was good but it was too much oily and was served cold. The potato's in chat were not cooked well it just tasted bland. It was really not worth it spending 40 pounds.

I'm the black sheep in my family. They all love Indian food, I can't stand it. So it was something of a challenge when I took my niece out for a birthday treat and she asked to come here for sweet samosas! There was an incredibly long queue out the door which is usually a ggod sign. She drank in the smells commenting how delicious t smelt. The food was really good (according to her and my husband who I took a treat for) and reasonably priced. It also looks very traditional - my family would love it. The owners were lovely very friendly. The only problem is - too friendly. Because they were chatting to the customers it took ages and we watched several people give up and leave the queue. It IS worth the wait, but my advice to the owners when it's busy, is focus on getting people in and out quickly, especially on a Saturday. It's nice to chat, but you need to limit it and make sure you're serving while you chat. Definitely worth going here tho - and that's coming from someone who doesn't like Indian food! (sorry...!)

Fantastic place in west Bridgford just what was needed. We ordered the fish pakora the veg samosas and spinach tikka. The selection was great and the food was very good quality and tasty. Looking forward to tasting the rest of the menu. The service was very good also so well done to all the team and keep up the delicious food. See you again soon.

I used to always visit the radford location whilst i was at uni but when i come back to nottingham, i make sure i visit the west bridgeford location. The staff are super friendly and the customer service is just amazing. I am never disappointed when coming here. food is amazing. I got paneer spring rolls (absolute fave of mine), vada pav, chilli paneer, chilli chicken and their new dark chocolate orange samosas. they were very unique but actually worked so well. i’ve tried probably all their vegetarian options and they’re top notch 👍👍

A real treat to find an Indian takeaway doing Bombay street food in West Bridgford. The food was delicious and their Masala Chai was authentic. Definitely worth it. Can't wait to go back again.

It was very annoying to order and pay for food in advance, and be given a time to collect, but when I arrived to find I had to spend 30 mins in the shop queue just to collect (23rd December). A member of staff needs to go outside every few minutes to ask if anyone is collecting orders, and deal with them separately. Apart from that the staff very helpful and food delicious.

This is the second time, I am disappointed with the quality of the food. In the first instance the Gobi-Allo (cauliflower-Pottato) smells so bad, that I have to throw them right away. Today, again the Chilli-Chicken tastes terrible and disaster. The quality of food seems very poor and I am pretty sure few item of these foods are served to the customer after storing few days from the day of preparation.

Great food concept and the quality of the dishes was second to none. Highly recommended and looking forward to coming back when I am next in Nottingham.

Having visited Bombay Sweet Centre in Hyson Green previously, I placed an online order for a batch of samosas and sweets from West Bridgford for a celebration evening. Again very impressed with the friendly service and the delicious flavours of the food - my friends were intrigued and delighted by the Indian sweets, a new experience for most. Plenty of car parks nearby and I luckily managed to park pretty much outside the shop.

Rahul and the team at the West Bridgford Branch provided amazing food for our party, enjoyed by all our guests. We highly recommend them!

Ordered food in person at Bombay Sweet Centre. Nice modern aesthetic inside with lots of freshly made snacks, mains and Indian crisps on side too. Friendly and helpful staff. Quick service for freshly made hot food. Had the vada pav and aloo paratha, both great value and really delicious - with good selection of condiments included too. Will definitely be coming back to try more snacks as well as their main courses.

Nice family run place, staff are friendly and helpful. Can get people and may have to wait, though the food is worth it at the end. I've been getting the onion bhajis, and they're damn big one. Tried the apple samosa today after someone told me that they were doing them and brought one to see what they were like. Oh, it was NICE! And I'll be getting another one or two when I pop by again

Best Punjabi samosas in Nottingham! First time coming to the west bridgeford Bombay sweet center having being a regular at the Radford road shop for years. Very authentic Punjabi food with a good spice level. Only complaint is the salmon was slightly undercooked. At around £12.50 for 250g I expect it to be spot on.

Food is nice but way too spicy for those that don’t like spicy food..

I don't expect the owners thought this shop would be so busy, but so far, the queue for service has always stretched to the door. Not surprising as the food is good, tasty and authentic, serving more than sweets, eith a range of hot food. A bit pricier than other areas of Nottingham, but then that's West Bridgford for you. Well worth a visit.

I work in Nottingham on weekends and I travel from Leicester most weekends and I have been here a few times and the food is absolutely fantastic even my work colleagues loved ir.

We always drive past this place, and honestly thought meh, Indian food, as most restaurants cater for western palate, but my friend suggested we go yesterday. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, I ordered the chicken chaat and it was soooo delicious, I finished the whole box. I just wanted to write something positive because it's a new business and they're doing well with great food, and it's about time we get authentic indian food. I've read some of the negative comments, and don't think it's fair, or not worth writing something negative about a new business. Anyway our family will be coming again before we move away from WB. Open one in guildford!!

Great selection of street food and curries, everything tastes great and staff are lovely, prices are really good. If you’re eating right away just ask them to heat the food up, they’re all really helpful

Ordered a collection as we were tight on time but despite ordering in advance were made to wait 20 mins, what’s the point of ordering in advance then? And complete waste of a lunch break.

I ordered starters for 80 people one day prior to collection. Food was premium quality and delicious - we all loved it. Shop itself is very clean, welcoming and customer service is outstanding. This is becoming extremely rare nowadays therefore, we hope this place will keep its high standards and I will be returning for more business in the future (on both cooperate and personal levels).

Highly recommended! I ordered a variety of traditional starters for a gathering of 30-40 people. My guests throughly enjoyed the food. Papri chaat was one of the best dishes!

Authentic Indian flavour brought to you at Bombay sweets. Had a takeaway. Extremely happy to have tried the food. Tender and flaky fish curry and fluffy naan. Gulab jamun cheesecake was the best. Would highly recommend!

Horriblee experience. I ordered takeaway for 42 pounds and everything was stone cold. Nothing tasted fresh. When I called them to give them feedback they were laughing and didn’t sound like taking it seriously. Very disappointed in my experience. They said we have to tell them to reheat the food which doesn’t make any sense at all. I was expecting the same standard as their hyson green shop as I am a regular customer there. Would never be ordering from here or wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Would highly recommend. We ordered the vegan bundle for our staff as an office lunch Friday treat. Food was delicious and delivered promptly. Everyone was very pleased with the selection. We will certainly order again!

Great addition to the high street. We had a whole mix of tasty treats. Some we loved some we liked. So it's really down to personal taste. But I would recommend the samosa chatt. Really tastey. Great to get a selection for a picnic in the park.

Wow! We love Bombay, we asked for a selection for some friends coming over and Rahul provided the best selection of Indian goods! The Butter Chicken was the BEST I've ever tried. We will definitely be back again soon. 100% Bombay is 5 stars I’m not sure why you would rate it any less!

Takeaway. Indian/Nepalese is our favourite cuisine. Onion Bhaji, chicken pakoras, lamb samosa all dry. Chicken Punjabi curry and pilau rice extremely tasteless Very disappointed and extremely overpriced

What a fantastic place, we have visited 3 times in 3 weeks, everything we have tried has been absolutely delicious 😋. Very helpful staff, great to see an independent business doing so well. You may have to stand in line sometimes, but well worth it. We’ll done all involved.

I’ve been coming to Bombay sweets a few years now and I’ve always liked to try something new every time. The food never disappoints. Always wants you coming back for more. Samosa chaat is out of this world. Chicken pakora is absolute fire And there samosas are legendary Couldn’t recommend enough and have.

Visited for the first time, it was busy during lunch time and there was only one young female (wearing glasses) serving. A few people decided to leave and not wait because service was so slow, we had to wait for over 30mins just for a basic samosa chaat. As always with many Indian restaurants they have such grand ideas but the execution is poor. The food is nice but I would say over priced for the amount you receive. The service leaves a lot to be desired, the young lady serving everyone could do with a personality transplant. She was cold, unfriendly and not someone you would place at front of house to serve and greet customers, that is unless you don’t expect them to return. One customer paid a lot on a large order and could see by her body language that she was not very pleasant at all. He said thank you I will return again and she didn’t respond, he looked at us on his way out in disbelief and said, how rude. Also some customers that dined in were ordering meals for lunch but they were provided with the food in two boxes. So the curry came in one box and the rice in another box, we watched people trying to mix the food from one box to another to eat their lunch it was the most bizarre thing we have ever witnessed. Why on earth were they not provided with the food to eat as one would expect from one plate/box! Lol She was very rude and not talkative to any customers at all. So first impressions, food okay, service slow and staff unfriendly. Obviously many of the positive and slightly biased reviews are from family and friends. The best samosas, arguably not, if you want the best samosas in Nottingham I wouldn’t go anywhere else other than Adnan’s in Forest Fields, Berridge Road. All of the food was not labelled as the previous review suggests, we had to continuously ask what was what in order to buy the food we wanted.

I can't recommend this place enough. Fresh home cooked style food, definitely saves me time in the kitchen. Love love love the somosas and all the Indian sweets too 😍

Mixed review of our takeaway. The Papri chaat was delicious and would buy again. However very disappointed with the chicken seekh kebab which was very bland and the lamb kofta kebab which was again not spicy enough and very chewy. The vegetable samosas were acceptable but the pastry was far too thick. The mutter paneer was a little too sweet but ok. Our biggest gripe was the salmon tikkas which we now realise are sold by weight at £51.80 per kilo. We had two medium sized tikkas which cost us £9 and were in fact ok but nothing special. All in all we were slightly underwhelmed with the meal and would only buy the chaat again.

Great food! Rahul makes sure to talk about what each item is and what it contains if you are unsure. The opening of the West Bridgford store is ideal as its much more accessible for people who can't regularly go to the other shop.

Brilliant food! Great Service! Very fair pricing. What more can I say. I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys good food. The sweets are delicious too, my son absolutely loves chocolate barfi. Well done guys.

A Great new addition to bridgford ! The staff were friendly and the food was really tasty, also not overpriced. I Had the chilli jam mushrooms yesterday and they were delicious, there are good vegan and veggie options too. We will be back :)

The food is really good and traditional and there are tons of options for everyone. The staff are really friendly and helpful too. I love the how they have a seating area outside, so you can sit and eat. It’s really nice in the summer weather. 10/10 recommend.

I had a really disappointing experience. I ordered punjab chicken only to be served the other chicken dish and when I questioned it was made to feel stupid. The lady in front ordered roti and they offered to make them fresh in the kitchen but when I ordered one minute later I was told the kitchen was closed (still 40 minutes before closing time). I was polite throughout but left feeling like a second class citizen.

The staff was so polite, and the food was even better. The atmosphere is such a good vibe, with the music and food. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to try punjabi food.

The food here is great so I have no complaints in that regard. However, twice now I have driven on a Friday evening to come and buy some food for my evening meal, once at 6:45 and once at 7 and both times they have been shut. On their hours open it clearly says they shut at 7:30 and that this was updated recently so it's really frustrating that I've had two wasted journeys when they clearly don't shut at a set time.

A very popular Indian takeaway. There is a variety of interesting sweet and savoury snacks and dishes. Better to order the day before if wanting a specific menu as the shop can be busy. I found the staff to be friendly and hard working. The food is really good.

Superb quality Indian sweets (and savoury street-food). Sweet-wise, I’d recommend the gajar halwa, (theirs is topped with milk barfi!) a kind of carrot cake/fudge, and the nicest way of eating a vegetable known to mankind. (Two chunks equals one of your 5-a-day. Honest!) The mango barfi was very fruity, tasted of real mango pulp, not mango flavoring; with just the right snap of cardamom, and also (luckily for me) the owner was trialing a mocha barfi, which was a piece of mild coffee & cream heaven, almost fluffy in texture. As well as sweets, the BSC also sells a wide range of savoury Indian street-food, the vast majority of which is vegetarian or vegan. There’s a hearty breakfast menu: the Mumbai Chicken Club Sandwich looks like a beast that will set you up for the rest of the day, but I brunched lightly on a very nice aloo paratha (a soft flatbread full of spicy potatoes & veg) with Greek yoghurt (vegan yoghurt was offered) and lime pickle to dip it in. Washed it down with a cup of masala chai (spicy tea), before I got down to sampling those sweets. A ‘pick ‘n mix’ of street food will be perfect for a spontaneous picnic in the park, or to cater for any small gathering, so I think they’re going to have a busy summer. There is also a range of ready-to-go classic curries, so you can grab an authentic chicken, lamb, fish or veg curry with pilau rice and a naan (heated for you or to take away and zap at home) for about half what you’d pay to have it delivered. Unsurprisingly, the place is proving very popular, so you may have to queue. If you’ve a big order, it’s probably best to drop-off or phone-in a list and they’ll happily arrange a time for you to pick it up. The place is a real asset to West Bridgford, and, if I’m not careful: a clear & present danger to my waistline. 😋 I wish them every success.
