The mussels.... Wow, that's all that needs to be said. Phenomenal. If the the lighting wasn't so bright and the waiters didn't make you feel like you were being rushed out. It would definitely be a favourite place to go.

Came here on a Sunday night and it was a lovely quiet atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious and we really enjoyed our time here as seafood lovers. Would highly recommend! Lovely friendly staff made the experience even better.

Enjoyable Italian style cuisine. Appetizer of prawn cocktail was nice although it had an enormous amount of Marie Rose sauce Main course was crab linguine which was nice yet it had a large amount of chilli. Infact all main courses that we had, everyone said that they were very hot with chilli! May be chef had a lot of chilli to use up… he/she certainly didn’t hold back on it Good, friendly service Nice atmosphere ££

Had a great trip at Venezia tonight, food was brilliant and service even better. Our waitress, Helen was lovely and extremely helpful. We were greeted by George at the door who is always friendly. When the food arrived it was as delicious as ever. The cocktails are a great addition as well. Always a great night at Venezia.

Excellent food and service as always in this fabulous restaurant. Nothing is too much trouble. Few new dishes on the menu but I always tend to have the same Gamberoni Spaghetti as it is my favourite. As it was a birthday they did a lovely touch of a candle in one of their gorgeous yummy puddings.

We had a fantastic evening out with the family, enjoying delicious authentic dishes and excellent food at very reasonable prices. I highly recommend it.

This is one of my son's favourite restaurants, so took him here to say thank you for helping with our house move and to congratulate him on a new job. It's not cheap, but the food, atmosphere and staff are all very good. We started with two tomato garlic pizza breads, £7.95 each. Now weirdly my son loves these so much, that he had one for his main course. My wife had lasagne, £16.95, I had BBQ pizza, £16.50, and future daughter-in-law had spaghetti Gamberoni, £19.50. Lemonade, small, pricey at £3.80, Rossini £9.90 and three pints of Peroni cost £20.70. All in all total bill, with one Cappucino, £3.80, was £124.40 for four.

Another great night out with family. Amazing authentic dishes and great wine at very sensible prices. Can't recommend it enough.

An evening for 4 adults celebrating a birthday and without our children in tow for once. Food was well presented, service was attentive and friendly, our waitress was Greek and very friendly. The experience didn't feel authentically Italian but the quality of food was acceptable. Starters were fine (not amazing, the mozzarella wasn't a fine quality ingredient), and main courses were both well presented and tasty. 200 pounds for 4 us (1 non drinker) including 6 alcoholic drinks, starters and main courses only. Would we go again? I'd probably choose an alternative for the money. By no means a bad experience.

The positives were that the staff were friendly and efficient, and the restaurant itself was clean and beautifully presented. I was very impressed with how it looked and anticipated eating a lovely authentic Italian meal. Sadly that’s not what happened. I ordered calamari as a starter. I was served calamari rings in a hard coating of what may have been a type of batter, it was hard to tell. The calamari was overcooked and very rubbery and difficult to chew. It was served with tartar sauce. My second cause was Spaghetti Gamberoni Piccante. The prawns were large but the sauce was completely tasteless. Even stranger, the spaghetti was in differing lengths from 2-3cms to 10cms. It looked like it had been cut in short lengths for a toddler with the odd longer length. It was bizarre. Ordinarily I would have raised it with the staff but, as it was a family celebration, I didn’t want to spoil the occasion.

Ah venezia what can I say. You surpassed yourself this evening. Made our wedding anniversary a special treat. The serving team are faultless in every way the food fantastic as always. Grazie Grazie Grazie

Starters were nice, shame about mains. Too many staff, being fancy but not really bothered. Could get similar starters most other places but tasted ok. Ravioli, got four pieces swimming in a pink sauce with no taste, pasta very over salted and risotto ok. Won't be returning, glad to get home

I've got to say we had the most fantastic meal and service here. The place was packed, the atmosphere was great, only beaten by the standard of food. The team were attentive without being overbearing. Food and drinks came to a very reasonable £250 for 4 which consisted 3 courses and 5 drinks each . One very happy group!!

Lovely meal with great service. Nice range of dishes on the menu, with good selection of accompanying drinks. I had the prawn starter with meat calzone (love a calzone!) and my wife had the cheesy garlic bread with the lobster ravioli. All dishes were delicious. Would definitely recommend!

They have got it spot on at Venezia. Great premises that gives you a nice first impression inside and out, warm welcome, attentive team on hand from front of house to back and the food was first class. Definitely will be back. Very impressed.

Our favourite restaurant - always great food and great service

As per previous reviews. What a fantastic place to enjoy good food, with a pleasant atmosphere and wonderful, friendly staff. I had the lamb, which was tender and melted in the mouth. Highly recommended by myself to visit and enjoy the occasion.

Very convivial atmosphere. Food was well presented and delicious. Not sure I’d ever serve calamari with tartare sauce - it really doesn’t work! That said, even without the sauce, the calamari were crisp and tasty. Our meals were generously portioned, and well served. A very pleasant young woman served us, and we would definitely go again.

We had a large party for a special birthday meal that we booked in advance and the hosts couldn’t have been more attentive. Everything was 5 star, from the staff, ambiance and most importantly food! Nothing was too much trouble and it made for a really special evening. Perfect

Great Italian restaurant, although a bit pricey

I was taken by some friends as a thank you for all the time I spend looking after their property when they are away. They had been before and really hyped it up. I have never been so disappointed in a meal. It was like going to a Michelin starred restaurant and being served something from the local takeaway. The place is beautiful but my meal did not live up to what I anticipated . I know I should have complained but did not want to upset or embarrass my friends. I ordered the linguine pescatore as I love fish of all kinds. I honestly would not have served that in my home. The only flavour was the huge amount of parmesan put on it. The prawns were the miniscule frozen ready cooked ones. There were about 6 small pieces of squid and as for the mussels, there were 9 of which 2 were empty shells, 1 which hadn't opened and the rest minute and dry. There was no chilli, no olives and no sign of caper paste. Don't know where the wine was and about 4 cherry tomatoes. The pasta was over cooked and stuck to itself. I know an espresso coffee is small but I have never had so little coffee in one ever. To say the least this will be my first and last visit.

Food and service was adequate but lacked real flavour in both starter and main course! The staff were courteous and helpful! But when the final bill arrived it was unrecognisable! The menu was to say the least complicated! They use a variety of codes with every dish and you need to study the “small print” in every detail!

First time visit to Venezia. When we arrived the place was buzzing will lots outside. We went in a little early and were offered to have drinks before being shown to our table. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The was a little wait for our starters but it was not a problem and the waiter did apologise. The food throughout was very nice, we all enjoyed our meals and had the full three courses. We were offered a complimentary drink at the end that was a lovely touch. The venue is lovely, great vibe very happy to recommend.

This resturant delivers a consistence standard of excellence. With attentive service, a brilliant menu catering to all tastes and incredibly delicious food. The venue itself is beautiful with inside and outside dining and it is clear they have great attention to detail making sure every customers needs are met.

As an Italian myself, I decided to visit Venezia after seeing that it won the award for best Italian restaurant in Nottingham. I booked a table for my fiancè’s birthday; ordered a selection of dishes and everything was up to standards, specially the rib-eye and the tiramisu was to die for. We would definitely go back, excellent service! We were very pleased to chat to the manager and owner of the restaurant too. Keep it up guys, great work!

Was visiting friends in Nottingham , we came here for dinner and had a lovely meal. Had bread and olives to start with, for main I had the Risotto Vegatariono , both delicious. Great service and nice wine.

Was in the area for the Upper Saxondale Open Gardens event, and when planning the day had intended to do a cream tea while there, and then cook at home that evening. As we wondered round started we to get hungry, and decided to get a midday full meal instead. Having passed Venezia while looking around, decided to give it a try. Ended up sitting outside in the sun and getting the Sunday lunch two courses for £19.95. I had the Lasagne, wife had the Pollo al Pepe Verde, and mother-in-law the Fish Stew. Sharing mouthfuls of each, we agreed that all the meals were excellent, and filling enough that desert choice was determined partially by size, and at least one of them was ordered boxed and to take away. Service was great, and food was tasty, well prepared, and surprisingly filling. Agreed that although it's a little out of the way, we shall definitely return and try some of the other dishes. Very glad we decided to take a chance, and had some of the best Italian food for some time.

We were returning to Venezia for a second time, having had a great first visit, but the service this time was absolutely appalling and we won't be going back. The place was not busy, and there were plenty of staff on duty, but after the initial smiling greeting we had to struggle to get attention and service. The waitresses serving our table regularly leaned over us to deposit plates, interrupted conversations, and unsmilingly asked for items to be passed to them. The meal sizes were disproportionate, with some generous and yet one of the chicken dishes comprising of just a chicken breast and minimal accompaniments, leaving its purchaser hungry. We then waited in vain for our dirty plates to be cleared and for us to be offered coffee, and after a long wait decided instead to leave. This was such a disappointment, and I can only think that complacency has set in?

Always amazing food staff faultless, polite, welcoming and hard working. Go once you will go back. Great value as well. Love this place

Visited this establishment in a party of seven. It is a rather odd looking restaurant externally, more like a school, but inside is a pleasure. Great welcome and superb staff that waited on us. So we all started with three tomato pizza garlic bread, absolutely stunning - £6.95 each. This was followed by 2 x BBQ pizza, yummy, £15.50 each, Penne Alfredo £16.50, Hawaiian pizza £14.95, Tagliatelle Bolognese £14.95, Lasagne £15.95, Meat Calzone £17.50, with sides Tomato and basil salad and french fries both £4.20. We also saved on the two for one offer (parties up to 6) with a saving of £45.95. Diet cokes £3.70, wine £6.95, peroni pints £6.80, J20 £3.90 and an appletizer £4.20. Cappucino and Latte at £3.80 and Americano £3.50. All the food was superb, but as you can see the prices may to some appear a little higher than some eateries, but you do get what you pay for, but the savings made it great value, £175 for 7 including drinks. Highly recommended.
