La Storia in Rushcliffe

Honestly, I went here ready to love the restaurant, but feel maybe it's taking things a little bit for granted. Had multiple dishes. Fussiloni. Wow well I am guessing boiled mince, but not an expert about why meat tasted the way it did, but I associated meat with mass produced methods of canteen food. Specials pasta was alright, think if not pasta itself being Al dente would definitely say most of people can prepare the dish at home without much effort. Wagyu whilst granted I never ate wagyu before was rubbery. Maybe that's how it suppose to be but I really had a bite and didn't want more. Tiramisu was Limoncello based , soft. Personally didn't like it, but I can see other people enjoying it. Overall during meal I was questioning my meat eating morals :D. Service was lovely. Decor was nice. Prices were high

From the minute we walked in, to leaving was an absolute delight. Holly, our waitress was amazing. Warm, friendly, and helpful. Made us feel right at home. My only criticism of the starter. I wanted more of the fresh foccacia. The mains were amazing. Great steak, well steamed turbot, and the quinoa was so fresh. Tiramisu, limoncello for afters. Again, it's a delight. Al fresco dining too. A family run restaurant that knows how to please. Get down and show support

We came to La Storia for our anniversary and had an absolutely astounding and on top of that our server Tom was fantastic.

Went here after coming back from Italy. Trying to recreate a bit of the magic two weeks later. The food is excellent. It’s potentially the best Italian food I have had outside of Italy. Our waiter was really nice too. The wine list is great - it is broken down by region which I found very useful. Would make a really good choice for a date or birthday I think.

Came for a meal today with my family, had a beautiful experience! The staff are attentive friendly and cannot do enough for you. The food was unbelievable, such quality! Thankyou so much to everyone working today, especially Luca, Sophie, Adam and Ollie xx

Me and my husband visited for the first time last night and we blown away. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, in particular Gracie who served us throughout the evening and she was fantastic! We loved the ambience and the food was wonderful. We will definitely be coming back in the near future. Thank you for a lovely evening!

Favorite restaurant in Nottingham and has been for years. Lovely Italian dishes but also do not miss the Sunday roast & cauliflower cheese.

Really good homemade pasta and bread.

Managed to get a table on a sat early evening with take that on over the road. No idea how every thing else packed out But they squeezed us in. Staff are brilliant. Food is outstanding. And a great atmosphere. Will be going back whenever we go to Nottingham. If you get the chance book a table.

Overall enjoyed our visit. Our starters and mains were all brilliant! However, we ordered 2 desserts and both were very disappointing. One was slop and the other basically broken up dry sponge with ice cream. As soon as our desserts were served, service stopped! Staff had all disappeared? We wanted to order another drink and had to wait about 15 minutes for a member of staff to appear and then we had to attract their attention. Not interested anymore. Very bad service to end the evening. Overall the evening was ok. Shame it wasn’t consistent with the food and disappointing service. One and only visit for us I’m afraid.

I had the best pasta I’ve ever had here. We had a starter which was excellent, the seafood pasta which was incredible and all of the desserts were delicious. There was fabulous attention to detail with the food, and the service was great too. Not a cheap eat, but worth every penny.

Recommend main courses, 8/ 10 good portion. Desert here £9.50 ridiculous ( not in London where high rental). Probably only doctors and lawyers can afford to buy a desert. Average desert is around £6-7 in Nottingham. From biz view, deserts profit usually 50% is reasonable. But if one desert charged £9.50 is Rip off. Cos profits may 80%.

Me and my partner have just had an amazing evening here. The service was so brilliant and personalised, the food was to die for and the cocktails are some of the nicest I’ve had in my life!! I will definitely be returning , such a lovely place

Fabulous service as ever at La Storia. Tom served us so considerately, given the dietary needs of a dairy-free, can't eat tomatoes, don't like chilli requests!! We spent our Anniversary in this place. The food was not the best what we tasted before even in England, definitely was way behind compare to any part of Italy. Dessert is simple only 3 options- tiramisu for 9£ was terrible. Also we was a bit shocked when we see the bill but maybe was our fault to choose sparkling water and extra bread for starter which was simply some salami and bread for 14£...

Authentic independent Italian restaurant. Limited menu with just 3 or 4 options for each course and lots of Italian words used in the description of dishes, so some knowledge of the language helps. The 4 of us just had starters and pasta dishes so can't comment on the mains or secondi courses. Antipasti board is all meat and a few crostini. Would have benefitted from some veggies and proper bread. Generous portion though compared to the bruschetta which was very small. Pasta dishes and desserts were all fine without being outstanding. Good choice of wines with a wide price range catering for all budgets. Note the special wines by the glass are from bottles costing up to £47. Overall a good meal but less impressive than our last visit.

My first visit to La Storia and wow I wish I had not waited for so long! Fantastic and kind service from the moment you walk in with attentive staff. Mouthwatering food, I had a chicken roast and it's one of the best roasts I've ever had! Also a focaccia to start that was yummy.

A very welcoming and friendly restaurant, I went with my family for a dinner and we were amazed by the customer service from Giodarno. He was friendly and always checked how we were, he made sure we had no questions unanswered and we understood what the meals are. None of us were left without a drink and the food was amazing. I found my main was quite rich, but everyone else enjoyed theirs. Not many dessert options, but the ones there are delicious and well presented. We will definitely be coming back and appreciate the service from Giodarno!

Amazing. Lived up to the hype. Delicious, authentic, and plentiful food and wine. Ended up being about £75 a head including tip. Olives, cocktails, antipasti, primi, secondi, dessert, coffee, limoncelli. No complaints whatsoever. They're dog friendly for outdoor seating too which is great!

Just went in by chance when visiting the area but what a great find. The staff are welcoming and attentive. Food was amazing, a small menu, but I prefer that. 😋

My friends raved about this place and so we decided to visit for an evening. Wow! I certainly wasn't disappointed! The service was wonderful, the wine was exceptional and the food was to die for. This isn't an 'Italian place' with lasagne and pizza; this is a genuine Italian dining experience. I had an Italian fondue to start. For main, I had the Gnoccetti dish, and having never had it before I was savouring each mouthful. To finish, I had the Hazelnut and Chocolate torte with roast pears. OMG, it was like Ferrero Roche ganache! Simply perfect, and the best Italian food I've ever had. I will definitely be going back. Okay, it was pricey, but for a night out once in a while, I would definitely spend it again and it was totally expected for the dining experience we had! Thank you.

A really nice, intimate venue ran by a very friendly team. We were quickly greeted at the door. The table wasn’t quite ready so we were offered a drink in the bar area, quickly delivered. Food was pre-ordered being part of a bigger group and it was soon with us once we were settled at our table. It was great! Service between courses was really good and drinks & water were regularly topped up. The homemade limoncello is a perfect end to any visit too!

Cocktails was nice. Pear spirit was mind blown. However, risotto was undercooked. Raw rice can be expected in risotto. Gave them my the north-face long-line jacket to hang. They gave kid-size short-thin-layer jacket back to me. I absolutely felt to be insulted. Never recommend anyone to dine-in over £70 for the service and food.

Our second visit here was on Saturday 3rd Feb. Four of us for dinner. All the meals were excellent, fresh, full of flavour, basically great, genuine Italian food. Service from Luca was friendly and helpful. We will definitely return again.

Google Maps rating of 4.8 stars, no wait, tastes even better than expected. The pasta is al dente, with a rich and flavorful meat sauce. The grated cheese is finely shredded, providing a cheesy flavor without being overwhelming. Satisfying! #KissKidsFamily

Amazing restaurant - the food is soooo tasty, feels very special and also very authentic. I love that they change the menu seasonally so there’s always something new to try (although we often end up eating a ragu which is always incredible!). Great service as well, will be back for more soon!

I dined here for the first time recently with a large group including my Italian native friend who vouched for the authenticity of the food. I certainly wasn't disappointed - I found each course from the set menu unique and flavoursome. Wonderful ambience, attentive staff and very reasonably priced, given the quality. What a gem - can't wait to return!

Amazing little Italian in West Bridgford in the shadow of Trent Bridge Cricket Ground. Had a team meal for 10 and the food was excellent and service was second to none. We had quite a range of choices off the menu across the table and everyone really enjoyed all 3 courses. Will definitely be back with my partner to sample more delights!

My new favourite restaurant in Nottingham. Went for my birthday and was so happy with the way we were treated. 10/10 for everything! Service, food, atmosphere - it all made the night really special. And as a fan of Italy and Italian food, the food and selection here does not disappoint. The beef ragu in particular was incredible! Can't wait to come back :)

This is our second visit to La Storia and once again it was amazing. We were booked in at 5pm on a Wednesday evening which meant that the Dine Around Italy menu was available, a pasta dish and a glass of house wine for £14 - bargain! The pasta we had was topped with lashings of pecorino cheese and crispy guanciale - so simply but my goodness it was tasty! Highly recommend the Dine Around Italy menu, it’s only available Wednesday to Friday 5-6pm and isn’t available all year round so keep your eyes open for it.

Food is good, but not that exceptional for the price. The furniture and decor is nice, and it does create a good atmosphere, however I felt the tables were quite close and you could hear the conversation on the next table. I felt conscious to keep my voice down. The waiter that served us was very polite and well presented, however, if I wish to pay a tip, I’ll choose how much I’d like to give. I don’t expect a small independent restaurant to automatically add a 10% service charge. To conclude, a touch expensive and I felt it a cheek to add a further 10%. It does also feel a touch convenient that most the reviews on here do have quite a selection of photographs. I won’t be rushing back!!!

Came here with clients and everything was great - delicious food, great wine list, and really good service.

What a great place. We met as a family (12 altogether) for a special birthday. We had preordered the food which was absolutely delicious and plentiful. The young staff were friendly, professional and attentive. They are a real credit to the restaurant. Despite the size of our party, and plenty of other customers to serve - our food arrived all together and hot. Although there are some beautiful Italian dishes on the menu, on Sunday they serve roasts. The lamb was pink, the beef was tender, the roasties crisp and the vegetables soft and hot. Those who chose from the Italian menu also loved their dishes - clean plates all round. I don't live locally so La Storia will not be a regular venue but the next time we need somewhere for a special occasion in Nottingham it is top of our list. If you are local and haven't tried this restaurant, you really should and if you are just visiting go on try it you know you want to. Congratulations to everyone at La Storia - you made a special occasion very special. Thank you.

Wow, what a place, the atmosphere in here was so vibrant. The staff are so welcoming and we're do I start with the food. Starters, main and pudding. Some of the best flavours I've ever tasted, and we will definitely be back.

After photographing a wedding here a few weeks ago and sampling some of the food, I decided I had to bring the family back for a meal. So we came back for my wife’s birthday yesterday! She loved it, the kids loved it and so did I. I can confidently say we will be back again soon 😊

Every time we have dined here the food has been fantastic! The service is brilliant and with 2 members of our family that have coeliac disease, they were able to give us a lot of options with adjustments to the menu offered. This family-run business is just so much better than other high-street chains.

Fabulous experience. Booked a Friday night table and had a 2-hour slot. Thought this might have been rushed, but it was perfect. The service was excellent. We were able to move allocated tables at our request in arrival as we didn't want to be next to a table hosting a number of lovely but noisy rambunctious children. Friendly knowledgeable interested staff who were happy to help and recommend from menu. Full vegan menu offered when I requested a vegan option. This was superb. Great wine choices, too. We had such a lovely time we went back "on the of change" of a table on Saturday night. We hadn't booked, so we were offered a table outside. This was nice. Outdoor heater and pleasant area to dine. Again, great service. The waiter remembered us and brought me the vegan menu without prompt. The vegan sharing platter was a good sharer for 2. Main courses were filling without being over the top. My companion stated the prawns were the best and juciest he'd had. Would definitely recommend this restaurant

We dined at La Storia Nottingham in West Bridgford on Wednesday 23/08/23 WOW 🤩, WOW 🤩 and WOW 🤩 again 👍 We haven’t been for quite a while, but decided to book to ‘cheer ourselves up’, and so glad we did! La Storia has been refurbished since our last visit and you really get the authentic Italian style and ambiance! (Not that you didn’t before) A lovely warm welcome by Sophie and other staff, and a choice of tables to choose from! We went for the ‘Dine around Italy’ menu…initially… but then decided to add starters, sweets etc. etc.(as you do!) The food was beautifully presented, extremely tasty, and very enjoyable. All the staff are very friendly, pleasant and attentive, without being intrusive, allowing diners to enjoy a leisurely meal . We left La Storia sufficiently fed, and enjoyed one of the best nights we have had for ages! Won’t be long before we are back for more ‘deliciousness’ 👍 If you have never been to La Storia, then please do try the restaurant. You won’t be disappointed! Chris.

Love it here - great food and atmosphere

Myself parter mother & father attended the restaurant for dinner on Friday evening. Upon arriving i was not asked if i had a table booked, which i did. When trying to order i was rudely interrupted i cannot take your order for a while and food will be at least 45 minutes. No warm welcome, no asking if i had a table booked? no menu's offered? until i had to ask for one. Upon finally receiving a menu, I explained my mother is vegetarian and does not eat pasta dishes (she just does not like them and is a fussy eater) on the childrens menu there are pizzas, to which she wanted to order and we was very bluntly told no you cannot order from this menu - this is the first restaurant i have ever entered to not be able to order food available from, instead she had to order a bowl of roast potatoes after explaining there is nothing at all on the limited main menu for her to eat. This is absolutely shocking - this reason alone they are clearly trying to make as much money out of you as possible and not accommodate your needs at all but instead let you sit with family having no choice of food at all unable to eat. The restaurant is all about making as much money as possible - the chef i believe was italian? It was the young guy with dark hair - i said can you explain to the management please my mother has no options to eat and you can clearly make her a small pizza to which he replied simply no you cannot order from this knowing now she has no options. Myself, i actually was allowed to order a cheese pasta from the childrens menu? but of course the price was doubled! i repeat doubled into an adults version - half of this was left as i did not require a double portion as the smaller portion would of been what i required, this was simply to charge me a premium. We ordered 3 starters of garlic bread, asking for a dip of mayonnaise... they apparently didnt have this? more like could not be bothered to attend the kitchen to fetch it. Our mains came out - my mothers bowl of roast potatoes, we asked another waitress and shock they did have mayonnaise which was then kindly retrieved for us. a little too hate after 3 portions of garlic bread were eaten and dry. The last comment, no water that we ordered was delivered to our table? is this because they was not making enough money from the sale of this? followed by the most pushy comments i have ever received in a restaurant 'them glasses are looking desperately low! more wine and another beer?' we then repeated we have not been given our table water to which he didnt seem impressed. Im sorry, but i have never felt so let down with service. You simply do not let a paying family have a member of the table sit there unable to eat, because you are wanting more money out of them and doubling the price of a simple pasta dish that was ordered off the childs menu. Extremely rude. By the replies from the management team on the other negative reviews - I really do advise everyone reading this review to check them out, they clearly do not care about their customers at all i have never such saw rude responses. You need to do better, not think about a couple of pounds profit going forward. Very let down - a lot better restaurants around the area for the food and service received in this one. Avoid. AMAZING! Best restaurant in Nottingham! We’ve been here on more than one occasion and been absolutely blown away. From the pasta to the desserts to the Sunday roasts, the food is incredible, the service is brilliant and the atmosphere and surroundings are just lovely. We are vegetarian and my partner has a gluten allergy, it’s a rarity to find places that cater for us a lot of the time, let alone somewhere where the food is so consistently impeccable. I cannot rate La Storia highly enough and it has become our go to place for every birthday, anniversary and celebration. 100% recommend. We can’t wait for our next visit!

Lovely family run Italian restaurant with a growing vegan menu, with nice options. I’d say it’s slightly overpriced but great experience. I visited La Storia in 2021 and they had one vegan option - risotto, so I was very surprised and glad to see they now have a full vegan menu. We started with the Antipasto Vegano (artichoke, sun dried tomatoes, olives and bread oil) which was decent, nothing extraordinary. Followed that up with the pea and shallot ravioli with pistachio pesto, which was delicious - small/medium portion size was ideal here as it was quite rich. We didn’t need a desert but thought we’d try as it’s not often you can get vegan Italian food. We had the Dissarono affogato and chocolate and toffee tarte. I’m a sweet person so I really enjoyed the tarte. Could have done without the affogato but it was pleasant enough to try. Great service and all the staff are very friendly. Restaurant has a great feel to it. I would visit again, but only for a special occasion.

Real Italian's Review: So my Italian (Milanese) missus and I decided for her birthday to give La Storia a try - the reviews seemed promising and the menu is actually somewhat acceptable. What with other Italian restaurants in Notts having as much in common with Italy as say, Kazakhstan, La Storia seemed to pass all the initial checks for being authentic. Unfortunately it's just another example of how we Brits have no understanding of food and google reviews is full of bull plop. Sadly La Storia is run by 2nd generation Italians who seem to have no pride in their origins and are only focussed on conning customers out of their money. Prices are astronomically high for mediocre food. The first red flag came in the fact that, as it would be in Italy, free bread was not offered with the table. Given for two we ended up paying no less than £127 thats ridiculous. I've eaten in London for cheaper and far better quality. For that cost you can get an uber to east Midlands airport, grab a flight to Italy, and eat there for the day with change. Utter, utter madness. The menu does not match the current one advertised online which was disconcerting, it's 2023. Update your socials for gods sake. Needless to say there are some... interesting, and definitely non-Italian choices. The "savory" Cannoli, while they exist in Italy has definately given a sicilian a heart attack somewhere in the world. The Controfilleto di Manzo was £30 a plate, was not filling enough and was sat on soggy potatoes. If for £30 a plate I'm not wowed you're full of plop. Plain simple. The desserts were the worst of the meal, the Mousse al Cafè was revolting and returned - it tasted more of sugar than coffee and looked nothing like it should. The Torte Soffice tasted like a cheap Mr Kipling desert. Add to all of this the prime view of a side street facing the notts cricket ground wall, and a sneaky hidden 10% service fee for a newbie student waitress, and I wasn't feeling like I was in Italy at all. The only things I will say in the favour of this place is that the staff offered us a table outside when we'd booked inside as they'd had a cancellation and when we returned the Mousse al Caffè they offered a free limoncello shot (£4 each normally?!?) And removed the cost from the bill. They did taste suspiciously of Gamston Canal water though. TL:DR don't go, its not Italian and will cost more than a day trip to Italy.

Quite simply the best restaurant in Nottingham. From the wonderfully personal service to quality and authentic Italian dishes, there isn’t an area that La Storia fails to deliver on. I can’t recommend you visit here enough.
