The best restaurants in East Midlands

We ordered from the restaurant in February 2022 as it has a reputation for being one of the best chinese takeaways in the area, and we weren't disappointed - the ribs were some of the best I've tasted and the kung pow chicken was served with generous pieces of chicken breast and lightly toasted cashews - delicious! The owner was friendly and we had a nice chat while I was waiting for my food. There's no online website or menu currently but it's worth a look if you're in the area!

I ate pasta with chicken , it was ok but nothing special I felt like I could cook it at home , dessert was just ok , I ordered brownie and I felt like it was bought in Morrisons or Sainsbury's, They have a good pizza and only pizza

Love the sausage links, biscuits and gravy. Ate outside under the canopy.

Visited with my family for my birthday. Staff were lovely and very attentive. Callum and Matt looked after us as well as the others serving food and they were all lovely. We had a mixture of starters which were all beautiful. Camembert in particular was delicious, little recommendation to serve with some chutney rather than the oil but still 10/10! The Chateaubriand for main was stunning. I love the steak served on the stone. Callum and Matt also brought over a birthday board with a shot, lovely touch! Overall the food was amazing, staff were amazing and well worth the money. We will 100% be coming back :)

Booked for a meal for six of us to take a weekday lunch following a walk around Eyam. Simply excellent in terms of staff, service, food and ambience.

Great Sunday roast. Good beer. Nice decor, friendly vibe. Local. When I reflect on how this place used to be 10 years ago compared with now, it's like light and day.

Visited as a FOH tech for a headline band - lovely team and great little venue!

Had a great dinner with my mates

4 of us called in early evening. Everyone had a great meal, and 1 who was very wary of Indian food had a chicken Nepal (mild) and ate every bit. Very attentive and friendly service as well. Would definitely recommend and would go again.

Great pint of Wainwright's and delicious crispy Battered fish and chips, and our Sunday lunch the day previous was really good too.

We just stayed at The Chestnuts Country House and all the reviews are so true. The setting is beautiful, the room is stunning, with everything you need and more for us and our dog. We were even able to charge our car over night. The breakfast is superb, truly remarkable. Thank you so much Kelly and David we can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!
