Visited for games night (skittles) friendly pub much bigger than it looks clean and tidy good beer pool table TV nice outdoor area good food for skittles teams worth a visit if you are in area👍

Used the RL for my uncles wake . Cold buffet with chips No complaints at all , excellent food , good selections. Free tea and coffee Room was spot on , staff very helpful Would recommend 👍

We held my sons celebration of life at the red lion on Friday 26th January 2024, when asked how many we wanted catering for, I didn't have a clue because we know not everyone goes back to the wake, so we said about 100/150. There were way more people than that. The food was fantastic and knowing we hadn't eaten all day due to trying to speak to everyone, the landlady Heather made myself, my husband and daughter some sandwiches and chips and made us sit down and eat for 5 minutes 😀. The bar staff were amazing and the landlady, landlord and their son helped with every request we had. It could not have been more perfect. The procession arrived at around 2pm and people stayed until closing because we didn't want the day to end. Heather, Andy, Harry, Tracey and all the other staff, thankyou from the bottom of our hearts. We will see you today for Sunday lunch and I will review that later too x

Great night out for a party. Plenty of choice on drinks, Couple of rooms for quieter chat or party room with a great atmosphere. lots of music to sing and dance along too. I would recommend it to anyone for a great night out.

Had our first Sunday lunch last weekend, the food was amazing at a reasonable price, served hot and very good portion sizes. All the staff were friendly and chatty. We will be back for another Sundsy lunch.

Where i drink with my best friends

The Red Lion hosted our Dads wake for us on 22nd June. The buffet was great and excellent value. From the initial call to make the booking and throughout the afternoon we had wonderful service from all the staff. A great selection of drinks also with very good service at the bar. Thank you for helping us give our Dad the best send off. You provided a 5 star service.

We had our father’s wake at the pub and can not fault anything about our experience. The Buffett was fabulous, the staff were attentive and very hospitable. Thank you for making us so very welcome.

Great live music venue with a fantastic atmosphere. Polite helpful staff.

We only popped in for a drink at midday. The place had some interesting pictures on the walls. Poole and sky tv available. Locals seemed ok. Worth a visit.

Would recommend Place very dirty and cat running around all the time. Shouldn’t have a cat in a pub.

Difficult time currently for pubs. Been to the Red Lion a few times for either beers or food and everytime it's been great. Matt is a great lad that will look after you as well. Doing well with covid as well and have a limited menu which is expected. Had kids meals so cant really go wrong with those. Great pub though hope it can make it through this.

Great landlord, tasty food and really good atmosphere. The landlord couldn’t be more helpful, we were waiting for the car recovery/rescue and he kept our food warm in the oven whilst we had the car sorted out at his car park. Definitely will visit again....
