We hadn't visited before when it was the urban kitchen so can't compare. The two women not particularly friendly or chatty. We were the only customers in and they still forgot the coffee. Jj's been open a few days now. Shepherds pie was tasty and hot. Unfortunately the Victoria sponge had a long hair running through the middle of it and it turned my stomach. I took it back and after her initially saying 'no there isn't...where' then finding it, she swapped it for a different cake.

Called today with my brother for a wander around the Antique centre. Never knew this cafe was there. Had a fantastic breakfast. Freshly cooked, brilliant service and the food was excellent. Would definitely recommend and will certainly return.

We visited recently with our little boy and my Mum and had such a lovely time. The cafe was clean and cosy. The staff were lovely and friendly. We had coffee and creamed scones, which were beautiful. The small boy had hot choccy, which he really enjoyed. Loved having a walk around the antique shop the cafe is situated in too - we got some lovely bits from it.

Called and reserved a table for brunch with friends. This is a lonely little cafe at the back of the antiques centre and is a hidden gem. Husband choose a brie and bacon wrap whilst I went for cheesy crumpets. The lovely ladies serving thankfully have the same idea as myself on how much cheese should be on crumpets and the answer is loads! The cakes looked fabulous although only our friends daughter had some on this visit. Lovely little place to fill up on food before browsing the antiques

Fabulous food, freshly prepared with the menu regularly reviewed to reflect seasonal produce, and in my opinion, reasonable priced. Coffee & cake to die for so be prepared to break that diet but you can share Staff are friendly, helpful and obliging . If you use a wheelchair, it’s a bit of a fight to get through the antique shop to the cafe but the staff front of shop are very helpful and will moved items out of the way. There is 1 blue badge parking place but no accessible toilet on site , only toilet facilities for able bodied.

This is about the fourth or fifth time I’ve been here with family and friends since it became under new management as the ‘Urban Kitchen’, and it never fails to disappoint. Staff are friendly and the food is delicious with a large selection of cakes. As it’s not situated in town, the prices are very reasonable. A great alternative to the cafe at the railway station as it is close by.

Everything about this little hidden gem, from the warm welcome, to the standard of food served deserves 5 stars. The breakfast is one of the best I've had, and I have it on good authority (my wife and daughter) that the cakes and scones are absolutely delicious. Looks like it will be a regular visit for us, and I'm determined to try the Spanish rarebit one afternoon...

I had my baby shower here today and what a fantastic time we all had. Nothing was too much trouble, the staff were all lovely, the food amazing and the atmosphere welcoming and relaxed. We all had afternoon tea and the sarnies, cakes and scone were all home made and tasted delicious. One of my party was celiac and the cafe's knowledge of the requirements and cross contamination was impressive. There was a choice of gluten free scones and cakes which was such a lovely treat. We will certainly be back here very soon - thank you all for such a lovely and enjoyable afternoon x

It's a stone throw from Chesterfield railway station at the back of an antiques, retro, craft centre. We had the all day breakfast and my husband is convinced it's the best English breakfast he has had - and that is quite a lot! The bacon was cooked to perfection, as was the rest of the breakfast. I had the Derbyshire oatcake breakfast - I wanted to leave room for the amazing cakes on display! I am not sure where to begin on the cakes??? If you can't decide they do a "cake tapas" which is supposed to be small pieces of each cake, in reality it's normal sized pieces of each cake! We will be going again and I will just have something very light so there is more room for CAKE :)

Wow, what in life could be better then a bacon and Brie panini with full salad (a salad with grapes apples peppers lettuce and loads more) with a tiny bit of salad cream and a pot of loose leaf tea. Well there is one thing better, all this and a piece (huge piece) of Victoria sponge. Awesome

What a surprise the interior was after looking at the very shabby looking exterior. We had a Saturday lunch here and struggled to find a table as it was very busy. Having been told to expect a 20 minute wait for our food we only actually had to wait about 10. Food was nice but not exceptional. We ordered 4 different meals and all came very nicely presented. However, the goats cheese and caramelised onion flan was the weakest of the offerings. It's texture was more like a custard tart and it was almost tactless as there needed to be more onion in it.

Called on the lovely ladies to provide afternoon tea for 21 as part of my hen party, i'd been let down by the original venue/caterers with just a week to go and thankfully The Tea Rooms stepped in and saved the day. Fabulous afternoon tea with a variety of breads, fillings, scones and cakes. They were even able to do an afternoon tea for lactose/dairy intolerance which my guest loved. Everything was brought to us and collected when we were done. I can't recommend these highly enough, the service, flexibility and price were amazing and the food was divine, thank you so much xxx

As my title says look beyond the exterior which resembles Steptoes Parlour. The cafe is at the back of an antique emporium. I have been twice and only had cake and a drink. The cakes are obviously and definitely home made, they are delicious and moist. I did request cream to go with my chocolate cake today and a jug was provided willingly with instructions to just ask if I needed more. I have never eaten a meal here but both the breakfasts and lunches I saw being served looked delicious and generous potions. Husband and I have promised ourselves we will return for breakfast

I have no idea why I have not found this little gem of a place before today. Now I have found it I will certainly be back. We only wanted a coffee and cake (and a good chinwag) today but there was such an amazing choice of cake we were spoiled for choice. Chocolate cake for my friend and Coffee Walnut for me. Two great wedges of the most beautiful moist cake were served and we were in our element. Us girls had so much gossip to catch up on that we had to order an second coffee but at no point did we feel in any way pressured to leave. Looking at the lunches that were being dished up to other people I think we really ought to go back for lunch one day, hopefully before too long!

I love coming to this place. The staff are wonderfully warm and friendly, rather like coming to visit family than coming to a 'cafe'. The cakes are legendary and all made on the premises. The ambience is cosy, and comfortable and like taking a step back in time to the days when Tea Rooms were the ONLY place to be seen. Whether going for a cuppa or a light bite, an afternoon tea or lunch, this place has it all and you won't be disappointed. It is continuing to grow and develop and being set in an antique and craft centre, there is no sense of rush about the place at all. Keep up the great work, girls xx

A very charming and cosy tea room located in Chesterfields only antiques centre full of vintage antiques and quirky goods. The tea room décor is very humble & homely with a vintage country feel, the ladies running the café are so friendly and if your lucky enough to go on a day when the manager is there (an Irish lady named Mo) she is heaps of fun and great for a good chat but all the staff are lovely even in the Antiques shop. Its such a lovely atmosphere and I've eaten here a few times and I work in the town centre and often nip down for lunch to takeaway but I have ate in the café for lunch and really enjoyed it, there's lots of choice and all the food is delicious and full of flavor. Its hard to choose the best dish...making myself hungry! I also took my Grandma for the afternoon tea and she enjoyed it so much, we were stuffed but Mo boxed us the rest to take home. 10 out of 10, I highly recommend it its a gem find!!!! :)

Thought we'd check out Olympia house for the first time, we're not really into antiques or collectables but we found some interesting things to buy. Now you really have to know this place is there, as it's around the corned from the station along a quiet road leading away from town. But just pop in to see what's on offer. To complete our visit we thought we'd stop at the café for a light bite as it was approaching lunchtime. The service was great and friendly, the coffee was delicious, and when we came to order our food we asked if they would do a half-sized ploughmans portion for our 4-year old. They said it wasn't a problem, and what it came I'm it didn't look that small - there was plenty on it! Our panini's were hot and filling, and came with a delicious, varied salad. Three filling lunches with hot drinks came to just under £19. Worth going back. So if you've an hour to spare, visit the many rooms at Olympia House and pop in to the café before you leave! There's a small car park at the back.

The Tea Room is at the back of a large building that sells antiques and other bits. We went as a large group for a birthday, the staff are very friendly and the table looked very cute with cups and saucers. There was a good choice of hot drinks to have (teas, coffees, hot chocolate). There was a good selection of finger sandwiches (cheese, ham, cucumber, tuna, egg) and the scones where very tasty, I recommend the banana scone. When I though we was finished the staff brought out a selection of largely sliced cakes, which again where very nice! The prices are good and there is parking at the back of the building. We had a little look around at all the treasures for sale in all the rooms, they are filled with lots to looks at and buy. Overall this place of very sweet and I would like to go again.
