Gurkha Express in Broxtowe

I had ordered vegan momo and cheese naan, cheese naan and momo sauce were splendid, enjoyed, however didnot like the vegan momo that i had ordered, it was quite bitter, definitely no for vegan momo!

I have been a loyal customer for years. But the past 3 times have been a disaster making me think has the time come to switch. I placed a pretty big order over (£120) i had to phone in as the app was not working and straight away the person was arguing with me that the app doesnt offer 15% off when it cleary does. They didnt honor this but i kept going. The food was late and missing items i rang up and they said cant u just make do and ill give u them next time for free. Which i thought was a weird response as i want what i ordered and it wouldnt be free ive already paid for it. Then i get another call telling me to check the bag its in there like iam lying, then after 40 mins it arrived. Ive noticed the portion size getting smaller and quality slipping from its normal high standards chicken has been chewy and dry and the last nights one has made me ill. Plus when they deliver it they blast out music from the street waking kids up! Really sad to post this but its far from what i have been used to from gurhka express.

Can’t speak about the food because I never received it. I paid online for a takeaway and, despite the payment going through, when I went to collect it I found the restaurant shut. Took me 6 phone calls and several days to get the refund back, probably hoping I will let it go.

2nd time we’ve preserved in the last 3 weeks and the food is fantastic, really great flavours and richness! Will definitely order more soon!

Lovely place ,nice staff ,great food, service was a little slow ,however we had a great night ,I would definitely recommend it, hope they improve on the service, long wait for the order,then a wait for it to come ,our table was booked for 7.30 ,starter came at 8.20 mains came at 9.15 , that is the only thing that lets you down . Ordered a takeaway for pickup. Website very clear and easy to use. 5 mains + naan + rice + tip came to £60, and included free poppadoms. Some really tasty dishes (Gurkha Lamb was superb, and really nice Chicken Korma) with generous chunks of meat in each, all cooked to be soft, juicy and without much fat. Really impressed! Was meant to feed 5 but we had loads left over for lunch tomorrow! Will definitely order from here again.

Saturday night 16th December half six, our second visit, from the outside you would not go in, within 10 minutes all other tables were full, counted seating for only 30. Skipped the drinks menu, we'd had enough, water, poms & pickles, shredded carrot dip was unbelievably good & different, chicken tawa & rogan josh, pilau rice & garlic naan, food was beyond exceptional, we both agreed this was one of the best curries we have had in 2023 the other one also here 😲 total bill just over £30 paid via contactles 👍

Food was okay but I keep getting 'promotional' emails and SMS from different numbers that I can't block as quickly as they come in. The spam is extremely annoying and I wish I'd never have ordered anything there.

Don't let the exterior fool you. Really good Indian food. Highly recommended. 👍👍

Absolutely lovely food every time we go there! The best Indian Restaurant and Takeaway in Beeston, and I especially recommend the chicken nepal. While quite expensive the portions are good and tastes delicious! I highly recommend to everyone!

Never received the food. I called the delivery driver and they were extremely rude. I call the restaurant and got the same treatment. They then refused to offer a refund after waiting 2 hours for food. I'd rate it 0 if I could.

Just had a delivery . Good service , hot food but way too spicy . My son & I had the paneer Makani . We have had it several times & it’s not supposed to be a spicy dish . Neither me or my son could eat this . It was way too hot for us. Very disappointed. Luckily the ghurka special rice was lovely .

My girlfriend and I always try to find Nepalese food when visiting a new city, and this is one of our favourites- delicious food and warm service for indoor dining!

Our son has just bought his first house in Beeston and after helping him move in we wanted a take-away and as we all enjoy a good Indian meal we ordered food for 4 people from Gurkha Express... I phoned in our order for collection and they said it would be 20 minutes and it was exactly that. We had Butter Chicken, Chicken Tawa, Chicken Tikka Masala and a Lamb Korma for our main dishes with Pilau Rice, Saag Paneer, Onion Bhaji, Poppadoms with pickle tray and Nana breads for sides. All portions were generous and all the food was delicious. Probably one of the best Indian Take Away meals we've ever had. Prices were reasonable (our feast was £60) and the service was friendly from placement of the phone order through to collection. We enjoyed it so much I called them back after we'd finished to tell them how much we'd enjoyed it. We will certainly be having food from here again.

The food here is tasty and unlike a lot of other Indian restaurants they don’t just throw everything in the same masala sauce. I particularly enjoyed the lamb chops. Defo put it on your list for dine in or takeaway/delivery, you won’t be disappointed.

This is the best place to eat by far on Beeston high road. It has great service, everyone’s nice and friendly and they have amazing food options. My family and I loved it from the beginning to the end. It was the four of us and the food was beautiful. Me and my husband visited here on a Friday night out and this is our favourite place. We have ordered so many times from here and we thought we would go and try it out inside and the food was the same but it was more enjoyable eating in. They were so caring and thoughtful. The food came out very early and it was amazing. It is such an experience.

I've been eating at/from here for four years now and this remains my favourite restaurant both in and outside of Nottingham. Not only do they serve absolutely delicious food (try the korma), but the staff are courteous, welcoming and extremely helpful.All our orders have been 100% accurate, and they take our special requests into account without fail. Needless to say, we'll be regular customers for time to come. I highly recommend this place anyone!

This place is amazing!! If I could give it more thank 5 stars then of course I would. Not only is the food top notch so is the service. The staff were so friendly and warm hearted which made it truly the best experience. If you would like to have the Gurkha express experience then I suggest you reserve a table. The food was delicious. I went with my family for a night out. We shared each course so we could try a little bit if everything. For starters we had the tandoori mix grill, two chicken momos and two aloo tikka’s. All phenomenal. As our main we had some lamb tawa, chicken korma, veg bhuna with 2 pilau rice and one basmati boiled rice. It was all so good! My most favourite would probably be the korma as it wasn’t overly heavy and it had the right amount of sweetness. Would absolutely recommend and definitely be back.

Booked online 2 weeks before. Arrived to find that the restaurant said they had no record of this despite having a booking confirmation email and showing this to staff. They didn't offer a solution and this was particularly bad as it was my belated birthday celebration. Won't be back!

I'm visiting a friend in Nottingham saw this place had great reviews on trip advisor. My friend hadn't eaten here before so we decided to try it. Put it this way we ate here 2 nights running!!! From the moment I walked into the restaurant, the staff there greeted me and my boyfriend with kindness which warmed my heart quickly. We were taken to our seats and were offered the drinks menu. And obviously the food! Absolutely phenomenal indeed. We had the tandoori mix grill as well as the chicken momo as our starters and the presentation was outstanding. For our main I ordered the lamb tawa with cheese naan and my boyfriend had the chicken karahi with the keema naam and he enjoyed every little bite of it and I was over the moon about how great my food tasted too. Definitely need to go back there again and would definitely recommend

Back again to this fantastic place this time for a family birthday, nothing to much trouble for the staff to make it a great night. Birthday banners and a little bit of cake for the birthday girl.The meal from starters to coffee was superb and excellent couldn't fault anything served to us all .Would go back again a big definitely YES Can't wait worth the journey. Once again me and my mates had an absolutely amazing full course meal at Gurkha Express the other night. We have visited this restaurant too many times and every times we are “wowed” by how beautiful there dishes are presented and how phenomenal they taste. From all the restaurants i have visited, by far this is the best one!! The dishes have delicious flavours ,the meat is always tender and the spice is on point. The naan breads are the best( garlic coriander is my favourite). So, if you are looking to go out and have indian food do not hesitate to give Gurkha Express a visit!!

I enjoy both takeaways and dining in at Ghurka Express. The curries are delicious and there are some fantastic spicy options if you like a good kick to your meal. They have tasty lagers on draught which compliment the food well. The staff are always polite, friendly and helpful.

Best Indian in Nottinghamshire, closest thing you will get to traditional Indian cuisine

Gurkha re-opened tonight, after 6 weeks waiting we ordered our usual selection. Every dish was perfect in every way, truly a culinary delight! the wait is over.

We've been here for takeaway and to eat in, and haven't been disappointed. The food is always great, and if you eat in, the service level is above and beyond.

Gorgeous food, super friendly staff. Cannot fault them. Had quite a few takeaway meals from here which are a favourite, however coming in for a sit down meal was even better. The chicken tawa is my favourite dish, mopped up with a peshwari naan is heavenly.

Really enjoyed the service and the meal. loved the starters, lamb Gurkha and chicken biriani. High end food at a competitive price and well worth the money. Would return and have the same again or even try something else.

Went for the usual Friday night curry, I had a lamb vindaloo and a king prawn starter. It is only a small and not exactly fine dining but you know what they say, good things come on small packages!

I've visited the restaurant several times for a sit down meal and every time the food, service and ambiance were brilliant. Tried the takeaway service tonight and I was so impressed. On time, hot, superb quality and although not the cheapest takeaway it is well worth paying a couple of extra pounds for what you get. Very highly recommended

I popped in for dinner with my son. We where the first ones in early on a Friday evening, when we left a couple were waiting for our table. Staff very attentive, pleasant and friendly. Food was excellent, not excessive amounts just right ( my son finished mine).

I’m a Beeston resident and my friends and I visit here regularly, easily the best restaurant in Beeston if you not local to the area. The food is always consistent wether eat in or takeaway and you’re doing yourself a disservice if you don’t order the momos! Staff very friendly, professional we’ve never had a bad experience here! Ordered through Just Eat and they confirmed my order. I realised I'd put my old postcode in by mistake so I rang them asking to change it. (My previous house was just down the road and approx. a 1 min drive). He then asked me to cancel my order through Just Eat because I 'live too far away and haven't ordered enough.' Why accept the order and then tell me to cancel it...If I hadn't called to change the postcode who knows how long I'd have been waiting for my food.Awful service, rude staff - avoid at all costs.

This was the first meal we have had from this tskeawaThe delivery was reasonably quick an the food still hot.The food was plentiful and generally good. The only downside was that the onion bhaji is were dry and chewy and one side dish (saag paneer) was more like a soup.

Amazing food, like all Brits I like to think I know my local curry houses. And I'd go as far to say this is my favourite around Beeston area.

To be honest, the website was very well set out and the delivery was very straight forward with the driver being very nice. My disappointed came in the form of the food itself. The poppadoms were too bitter to my taste and so was the mint sauce. The butter chicken I ordered, whilst the chicken was very well cooked and seasoned, the sauce was that of vegetable soup and tasted nothing like a butter chicken. My onion bhajis were mediocre at best. My disappointed comes at a shock with all the good reviews online and this will be my first and last visit to Ghukra Express.

We tried this local small restaurant for the first time after having read some great reviews. We certainly weren't disappointed. The most fabulous food that was really fresh and tasty and the presentation was stunning. service was really good. We will certainly return.

Went here last night and although the food when it arrived was good it took forever and there was clearly poor organisation in the back and they seemed to be all over the place. Maybe worth a try for takeaway or when it’s quiet.

My wife ordered takeaway from Gorkha Express this evening and we really enjoyed it. The quality, presentation, quantity and the taste were all very good. I have tried few other restaurants and takeaways in Beeston in the past but none have been as good as this one. Thank you and we Will definitely order from you again.

Visited this restaurant for the first time last night, having reviewed several in the area via TripAdvisor. Having had excellent reviews, we decided to phone and book a table for us two, at it was my birthday and we love a curry. The customer service from initial booking through to arrival and service was fantastic. Staff are professional, attentive and friendly and although the venue is small and basic in decor, you feel comfortable, relaxed. The menu and drinks menu is straightforward, but provides a great selection and we ordered starters with king prawn, and octopus rings and two Lamb curries, with pilau rice, potatoes side and keema nan, the portions were massive and most importantly the whole meal was served hot and was sublime in taste and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Highly recommended - we’ll definitely go back, and yes they do delivery too. (Bonus) Thank you Gurkha Express for a memorable evening.

Came here with my family on the Sunday before my son’s graduation. He had lived in Beeston for a year and never tried Gurkha Express, so we thought we’d give it a go.From the outside it doesn’t look much and on the inside there are classier looking Indians in the area but what it lacks in looks it more than makes up for in the standard of service and quality of the food.We ordered 3 starters and all were excellent, especially the fish. The curries were all superb as well.If we ever visit the area again, we will definitely make time to visit the Gurkha Express.

Fantastic curry bursting with flavour

We visited this restaurant on a very quiet Wednesday evening. The restaurant is well presented with excellent table presentation the menu isn’t massive but the food we ordered and received was excellent. Our waiter was extremely polite and very helpful it’s a shame the place was so quiet but hey it was a wet Wednesday evening. I wholly recommend this restaurant.

Just ordered for delivery, food was spot on, really tasty indeed. Loads of meat, and very fresh. Delivery drivers was also polite, pleasant and even tried to refuse the tip - which is very rare nowadays.
