The best restaurants in Oakham North East Rutland East Midlands

Was visiting the area and came across The Otters Deli, first thing i noticed was the staff, all amazingly helpful and friendly. Had several items of food and drink which was all very nice. Definitely a place to visit and i’ll certainly be heading back

Excellent food at very reasonable prices, this is my 3rd visit and can honestly say there will be many more. Very good portion sizes cooked to perfection, friendly staff. Can highly recommend this eatery.

The venue is great , the staff were very friendly and made sure the children had their food first, which was thoughtful; but the food let it down.

Food generally isn't bad. Sandwiches are OK. Soggy breakfast baguettes are a failure tho. But, the real issue is the service. I even tested it out by tipping. You only get friendly service at the end once they got a tip (Apart from a black woman, she was very sweet throughout service a few times) Honestly...I find this place overrated and unfortunately disheartening, I have really tried, but...U are all rude. If you don't want to work there then leave.

Where do I even start! We order from this place pretty much every week and it never disappoints. The flavours, the portion sizes, the quality of the food are 100% worth it and on top of it the owners are absolutely amazing people. They’re always open for a chat, lovely and so welcoming. We live at Uppingham and we drive to collect it because it’s the best place in the area to get the food from . Highly recommend it and I am 100% it won’t disappoint you! ❤️

First time using last night as new to area. What a gem. Portions large and fish so tasty. Staff very friendly will definatley use again

Just went to order a chicken burger and he suggested a chicken filet burger; which is probably by far one of the nicest pieces of chicken I’ve ever eaten!! Highly recommend eastern delight very clean and modern!! one of the only takeaways in Rutland serving top class takeaway food like that!

Lunch with friends. Public car park about 5 minutes walk away which is reasonably priced. Nice meal in a nice restaurant.

Great food and very good service and lovely staff very helpful and efficient and easy to talk to will cook anything you want hot spice or medium just ask them and it's done 👍

We had such a lovely lunch at Hungry Birds Cafe in Oakham! The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, tasty, and clearly made with care. What really made it special for us was the Little Bird lunches for kids—such a great idea! My daughter loved hers, and the little sweet bags at the end were a genius touch (perfect for a bit of gentle bribery when needed!). The cafe itself has such a warm and cozy feel, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. It’s one of those places where you instantly feel comfortable . We’ll definitely be back—highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxed, family-friendly spot with great food!
