Great food with family we all enjoyed it, double cheeseburger very good with plenty of home cooked chips, very good

Great coffee and cake, reasonable prices, dog friendly and very friendly and helpful staff.

Cuando llegué a la tienda pedí 2 eglefinos grandes para cocinar frescos y una porción de papas fritas. El pescado era maravilloso, blanco y escamoso con un buen rebozado delgado. Las patatas fritas podrían haber sido un poco más marrones, pero nos gustó. Extrañamos mucho el restaurante, al igual que nuestros amigos. El pescado con papas fritas es mucho mejor comerlo directamente de la sartén, todo caliente y crujiente.

Fantastic place and one of the few pubs that has a no dogs policy inside. Such a breath of fresh air and somewhere that I will continue to visit because of the warm welcome, fabulous food and dog free environment. Bliss! Thank you to all the friendly staff for a delicious lunch.

Very thick batter did look nice but didn't taste very good was very soggy fish was watery.

The first time I came here I was impressed … and the second time. Yesterday I arranged to meet two sets of friends and two different times. This was to see if there might be an improvement on my last experience of dry and unrecognisable as cake, lemon cake. Sadly this will have been my last visit. I had some of the worst food I have been served in a very long time. Dry pancakes which tasted so badly of baking powder, and which had barely a dribble of honey on them. All I can say is the fruit was edible. Then later a lunch of chicken and halloumi wraps which may as well have been wrapped in cardboard. The fact that food was not eaten on both occasions didn’t prompt a question if all was ok, I was then asked if I wanted a loyalty card which I took for the irony, and as my lunch companion said, there wasn’t even any eye contact. My last visit as I have no idea what had happened to this place over the past few months!

Fantastic food, well priced and lovely people. I would love a chippy like this back in Rotherham.

Lovely trafitiional village pub. Staff always very friendly.

We had a 70th birthday party here the food was excellent the service was excellent, Nick and his staff was very focused on all our needs and that everything was in place. We rented 3 of the rooms and once again excellent decorated well bathrooms beautiful. We throughly enjoyed our party and we only have praise for the staff the prices and the food, we made a great choice everyone throughly enjoyed the night. Thankyou to Nick and staff.

Would highly recommend visiting The Chequers. We stopped by for lunch, had the seared salmon, tarragon & confit chicken Kiev & crème fraiche panna cotta. There were a number of specials displayed on the chalk board although we decided to stay with the main menu this time. All absolutely excellent. Warm welcome & great service. We will definitely visit again. Thank you.

Went with a few mates, staff were lovely and friendly. The food was lovely, I live in cramlington just outside Newcastle, I will definitely go again next time I'm in Woodhall Spa, hopefully soon.

Friendly comfortable old style pub. Landlord and landlady couldn't do enough to make our stay the great evening we all enjoyed
