The Chequers in North Kesteven

Would highly recommend visiting The Chequers. We stopped by for lunch, had the seared salmon, tarragon & confit chicken Kiev & crème fraiche panna cotta. There were a number of specials displayed on the chalk board although we decided to stay with the main menu this time. All absolutely excellent. Warm welcome & great service. We will definitely visit again. Thank you.

7 of us went for Sunday lunch, last minute booking, the food was stunning. My 75 year old vegetarian mother rang to tell me today “that was the nicest Sunday lunch I think I have ever had” This pub just keeps on giving, thank you for your stunning food and wonderful hospitality. ❤️❤️❤️

Went for Dinner a couple of weeks ago - Understand it has links to The Pyewipe which is lovely so wanted to check the place out. Had 3 courses and ALL WERE AMAZING. Absolutely incredible food, Michelin star worthy. Whatever that chef makes seems to be pure gold. We absolutely will be back for the food. The staff on the other hand were slightly lacking - Don't get me wrong, they were polite but clearly very new. Main issue was they did not inform us of the specials, so we had no idea until they informed the table next to us but we had already ordered by this point. A real shame as we would have gone for a couple of the dishes if we knew. Although the food was incredible, we almost felt that we missed out. Staff didn't remove water jugs when they brought another, didn't remove finished glasses (Had to ask a couple of times as left with a very full table). Walking away whilst speaking to us, felt quite rushed despite the place not being very busy. Seemed to improve when the manager (I believe it was the manager) came in but by that time we had finished the meal. Overall, the food was absolutely amazing, the best in the area but the staff (Who again were very polite) clearly need a little more training and support. This place has some massive potential providing the food stays at this standard, and staff get more training. Will be back

Having recently moved to the area, we visited The Chequers following a recommendation. What a find! The food was absolutely outstanding - every dish was fantastic. The overall atmosphere is welcoming & the staff were very friendly & attentive. We're already planning our next visit!!! Thank you all for a great evening.

Mordeduras de cerdo para empezar y carne asada para la red eléctrica - hermoso, el mejor almuerzo de domingo de carne asada que he tenido en mucho tiempo. Todo muy fresco y cocinado a la perfección. Definitivamente volveré pronto.

Muy buena comida bien presentada y buen servicio caliente excelente carta de vinos nueva decoración hecha con muy buen gusto un montón de aparcamiento bien merece una visita

Tuvimos un encantador almuerzo de domingo. Mi esposa y mamá tenían la carne asada y yo tenía el pastel de faisán para la red. Comimos gambas tigre, sopa y paté para empezar. Toda la comida estaba deliciosa, bien presentada y caliente. Regresaremos.

No puedo recomendar lo suficiente. Absolutamente delicioso, la mejor cena asada pub que recuerdo. Excelente relación calidad-precio y excelente cocina. Servicio increíble como siempre. Sin duda volveré!

Lo siento, pero esto nos baja los pulgares. Mi elección inicial de pollo, jamón y pastel de puerro no fue comestible. Pastel descuidado, apenas caliente. Qué horror. La camarera era muy buena y muy disculpada, me ofreció otra comida. Elegí eglefino frito que era un poco mejor. Batter sabía a grasa quemada. ¡No volverás!

Caminamos hasta aquí desde Hanworth Country Park, donde nos alojamos. La comida era excelente y a buen precio. El tamaño de las porciones era bueno y la comida estaba bien presentada. Entre nosotros teníamos chile con carne, bistec y pastel de cerveza, jamón, huevo y patatas fritas, patatas fritas completamente cargadas y bocados de halloumi. Recomiendo encarecidamente todos estos! Definitivamente volveremos antes de volver a casa. Las cervezas también tienen buen precio.

Excelente almuerzo del domingo, personal amable y atento, gran ambiente nada es demasiado problema. Asistido con acceso para sillas de ruedas. Volveremos muy pronto

Reservado para algunos amigos para un domingo a la hora del almuerzo. A pesar de que solo era un menú pequeño y no almorzaban los domingos, todavía tenían un montón de artículos no disponibles a pesar de que estaban en el menú. Estaba muy tranquilo allí con no muchos otros comensales

What a lovely village pub, beautiful building, great staff and lovely food . It’s a great shame that it doesn’t appear to be supported by the local community. You have a gem here, don’t be like other villagers that don’t give the support that is needed and then moan when it’s gone. Just think about this should you want to sell your house, I certainly wouldn’t buy a house if there wasn’t a local pub at the heart of the community.

My wife needed to make arrangements for a wake at a local venue following the sad loss of her sister in March. Having contacted the few potential venues around our area she settled on the Chequers in Potterhanworth. It was a small affair with some 18 people from the Lincoln area, Norfolk and Birmingham. We cannot thank Kyle enough for his kindness and the venue and buffet were perfect. Nothing was too much trouble and the amount of lovely food provided was most welcome, especially by family who had travelled some distance. Unlike a couple of other potential venues there was no room hire charge. Thoroughly recommend this establishment and Kyle.

Beautiful good , nice atmosphere and friendly staff . Couldn’t be better . We will definitely visit the next time we are over from Boston

Simon the chef is an absolute genius. The menu selection is incredible, ranging from lite-bites to gastronomic culinary delights equal to any fine dining restaurant. This is our first choice for lunch, Sunday roast and special occasion dining including Valentines evening, and we have never been disappointed. Kyle and the team are welcoming and hospitable hosts, in an ambient restaurant serving delicious dishes beautifully presented and offering a wide selection of wines. I recommend to everyone whatever the occasion! We will back to dine here again soon!

Lovely food and the staff were all helpful. Was good to see the place is dog friendly, we will deffinately be back with our pooch. Only downside is no phone or WiFi signal, ZERO .. would be helpful to install customer available wifi, especially if you need to be contactable while out. Other than that highly recommend.

28 came to The Chequers for a pre-ordered meal. Everything from start to finish was superb. Plates hot, food hot & delicious. Staff pleasant & helpful. Have had lots of other meals here in the past 4 months & everyone has been excellent. Many thanks to the chef & all the staff.

Loving locally to the pub we have been waiting for years for the food to be back on the menu and worth it and finally the pub have got it spot on! Great food, good value for money, good service, much better surroundings since the “glow up” of the pub and a lovely experience all round. Sunday lunch is a treat and means we no longer have to travel miles away for a good roast. The normal menu is also great with lots of options and huge portions. Please treat that chef well to keep him as he’s absolutely fabulous and just what our village pub needed!

What a fantastic set of curries for Wednesday quiz nights- great value and absolutely delicious. Huge pot of curry- chicken/ lamb/ vegan options- rice or chips, naan breads, poppadoms and mango chutney £10 including quiz entry- not managed to finish one yet- each time I go - the curries get better x

We went to the Chequers to try Sunday lunch as we're hoping to rent a house in the area for a family get together for our 50th Anniversary next year. We weren't disappointed! The food was excellent, generous portions of both the beef and the lamb and a good selection of vegetables. My husband was particularly pleased as they included his favourite red cabbage. They were a little slow taking our order but there only seemed to be two girls doing their best to cover two bars. The food arrived promptly after that. We did notice we'd been overcharged when we got home as my husband had two courses but we were charged full price for the dessert instead of the 2 course price but we live too far away to pop back. I wish them every success in the future as I believe it has only reopened fairly recently and I hope it will still be open when we return next year.

Met with family for dinner and have to say the food was excellent, lovely choice with a specials board. The restaurant was quite quiet for a Friday but we appreciate the pub has recently reopened. Give it a go you will not be disappointed

Dropped on this little gem. My partner and I had lamb Sunday lunch and it was excellent. The staff and Manager particularly were friendly and attentive, would heartily recommend.

Heard they’d had a big refurbishment so decided to give it a try on a Thursday evening after work. The new decor looks good, modern but still cosy. Good choice on the menu, all the standard pub classics you’d expect from a village pub. Our food came quickly and we were really impressed with the size, presentation and taste of everything. We both had the steak combo meal, no complaints at all - everything was really good. We will definitely come back and noticed as we left that the bar area is dog friendly also which is a bonus to us.

We were staying in the area and booked for Sunday lunch. The food was absolutely gorgeous and really tasty, presented lovely and very generous portions. We will definitely be going back even though we are nearly 2 hours away!

Had a Sunday lunch with my wife here and was very impressed. Large portions and the food was fantastic (had lamb) lots of flavour and good presentation for a decent price. Will be coming back soon!

We had the most beautiful roast beef in the scorching summer heat!! Everything was perfect, from service to the gorgeous food and perfect portions. One of the best we've had and can't wait to visit again 👍

We had dinner on opening night of the restaurant this week and it was amazing! So much choice on the menu, and yet the chef still accommodated my request for an off-menu chicken salad. Both our meals were that delicious that we immediately booked again for Sunday roast this week. Highly recommend you pop down and sample the culinary delights. Really welcoming pub, great food in a lovely village.

We walked here from Hanworth Country Park. The staff welcomed us and our dog and brought out treats and water for the dog and invited us inside if we wished. Reasonable priced drinks easy to get to from where we were staying.

Called in here for an early evening drink whilst staying at the local caravan park. Very friendly licensee, dog friendly pub. Unfortunately food wasn't being served but the beer and wine was good. Try and support this place if you are in the area
