Been coming here twice a year with our tourer love this place especially having pub on site great staff clean facilities everyone friendly nothing bad about it highly recommend it

Beautiful location in Thorpe on the Hill. The Railway Inn is certainly a popular destination for a Sunday roast! They offer 3 different sizes of meals, and that covers your number of meat choices. Small is one, medium is two and large is three. The meats are turkey, beef and pork. Various vegetable sides are included, with gravy and sauces. The food was ok, a little dry but honestly with a carvery/ buffet style service- I don't think it can be avoided. The small was perfect for me! I don't have a huge appetite, but I was able to finish everything and there wasn't any waste! Even room to finish off with a little dessert! An extensive dessert menu. I chose the chocolate fudge cake with ice cream. The dessert wasn’t my favorite, the sponge was quite dry and the fudge coating was dry and hard. Service was great! A lovely group of friendly faces that are happy to explain how they operate! A nice experience and I would say if you're in the area, you should check it out!

Truly recommend The Railway Inn Friendly staff, homemade, fresh food and ingredients, always pleasant to come here.

First time I have been in the railway inn for food, we certainly came out with full stomachs. The service was fantastic & food was delicious, can’t wait for my return visit .

We have always had the Sunday carvery before, today we tried the weekday menu, awesome steak pie and fish and chips, clear plates all round! Very friendly staff, quality food and excellent choice, would definitely recommend.

Light and airy bar area. Not sure if this is common, food and beverages are sold separately. Plus, no way of tipping digitally. Paying up front doesn’t help. Function room looks pretty good as well. Would recommend.

Great atmosphere, great pub food and great service.

A real traditional pub, where everyone is so friendly and chats to you. Always full Staff very welcoming. A pleasure to visit.

It's a long time since we had food here so don't think I should comment or score that area, however the food I have seen served certainly looks up to scratch. There is always a good selection of beers available and always tastes as you would want it to. Staff are always polite and friendly and chatty if they have the time. Atmosphere depends on the crowd at the time, as you will find in any pub, but usually pretty good. Camping/motorhome spots available, decent amount of parking available, plenty of events/live music on throughout the year.

Excellent service, large portions, very tasty meals, good value. Definitely recommend The Railway Inn.

We walked down to The Railway Inn from Skybarn Farm and we're greeted by Very friendly staff there is an excellent choice of drinks and the homemade food is superb we can highly recommend the specials on wed/ Thur/ Friday 12-2pm

Been here 6 nights. Very very new so still a work in progress. At present 1 toilet and 1 shower. But elh waste and fresh water. Elson. 8 pitches only so small. Absolutely lovely people. Everyone made us feel welcome always chatted. Food amazing. Pub staff lovely. Owners dave and sue lovely and funny. Home today cannot wait to come back. Thank you all at the railway inn xxx

The place was clean really busy day as sun was beeming and kitchen staff were run off there feet we had our dog with us who we get a plain chicken breast while we have a lager shandy each they cooked it for the dog even knowing it was for her and bar staff were really helpful and friendly Great experience Thank you

First visit to a really nice pub. Friendly people. Went with a crowd for the Sunday roast. Carvery was brill. Only small but good service and the food was superb. Best of all they have tribute ale. Will be back.

Great Pub! Freindly smiling staff food was brilliant, dog friendly outside and in the marquee if its raining, service was fast, and good selection of beers wines and ciders. Thoroughly recommended if you're out this way, even got a camping/caravan space at the rear.

I had a Dinner Special which includes a main course and a dessert. The main course was pork and vegetables which was really good, just like homemade and the dessert was apple and blackberry crumble with custard. This again was just like home made crumble. Excellent value. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would certainly go back again

Called in for a carvery as was passing. Food was good but a little pricey for a small serving in my opinion. Atmosphere OK. First visit to the pub and shall say I would call again . It hosts band nights for weekends and has a campsite to the rear of the pub. Not sure on what facilities they have .

Good food, great value. Bit cramped in the Sunday roast queuing area. Wouldn't want the experience of sitting near the carvery servery.

Great food, will be back. Reasonably priced.

Large portions of tasty food served by friendly staff, at around £30 for us both drinks extra. The whole place was clean and well presented we will go back. Food not served on a Monday. Dogs not allowed in the pub itself, so we were in the marquee, but saying that, it was warm with no drafts. There is a path alongside the railway line where you can give your dog a run to stretch its legs and do what it needs, as long as you are responsible and clean up, so they are catered for too.

Great to see a pub thriving. Friendly staff and locals. Great, simple, satisfying food in mammoth portions. Real ales. Just what the caravan site in the pub grounds needs. Well done.

Excellent Service all round. The food was delicious and very well presented. The Bar staff made us very welcome. One of the regulars even moved seats so we as a group of ladies could sit together and enjoy a coffee and a chat. Lovely atmosphere.

Went for the first time for food! And was not disappointed, big portion sizes. We got medium size and there was loads of meat, we see people get large ones and my god is it large.. very good 👍🏼😊

Ist time visit today and I am pleased to say it was well worth it.Had a medium sized carvery and well WOW, might have to have a small plate next time, home cooked, Hot and perfectly presented. Service throughout was great and everyone was very friendly. Plenty of room in the marquee which was warm and airy. Recommend the carvery, sweets looked lovely but I didn't have room for one after the main

First visit to the railway inn and it definitely won't be the last, a very lovely warm welcome by all the staff, a great pint of Bateman's black and the carvery just put the iceing on the cake. Are whole experience was faultless and the locals were very polite and had some great banter with em. Will definitely be back and to sample the menu and highly recommending you to friends and family. This pub is a hidden gem, deserving a five-star rating. It boasts a cozy ambiance, an extensive drink selection, and outstanding food. The staff is incredibly attentive and friendly, making every visit memorable. Live music nights add to the charm. The only minor flaw might be occasional busyness, but it's a must-visit for a fantastic night out.

Friendly, good grub. Only drawback was no apple sauce for the pork.

We had a lovely lunch, one meal was overcooked, my friend received an apology, and our party of six received a complimentary dessert. The staff were excellent and kept us entertained. A food delivery had not arrived, and several items on the dessert menu were unavailable, but we enjoyed alternative choices. The manager came to our table and explained their predicament. Overall, the atmosphere, service, and staff were excellent. I would recommend to others and visit again.

Excellent service,food and beers Sunday carvery is to die for The puddings are also fabulous Stayed on the caravan site 4 times now. Access to whisby nature reserve is about 15min walk and there is access to the village lake behind the site. I would certainly recommend.

First time here as heard it was good !!.. Sunday lunch was tasteless.. gravy like sludge..plenty of meat but no taste in the rest of it.(both of us agreed).the carvery area was a mess and the 2 ladies although pleasant were like headless chickens. One of them was chewing something which didn't look professional. The service staff were all nice and professional.. sadly we won't be back

Friendly staff …great atmosphere…had medium roast dinner the beef was delicious as was turkey but small would have done me medium an large were more man size meals … the sun was shining so was a bit warm in restaurant… all in all a great experience

What a fantastic afternoon,the staff was amazing there was 21 of us 5 where children and every meal came out piping hot. Plus every meal was perfect. Cannot fault staff at all thank you for a wonderful afternoon.

Food great, service good pity the staff working in the hot room serving the carvery. Was muggy in the marquee, and we had asked for the sides to be opened as per the signs, but not done unfortunately, so that was the only negative. We will be back to sample the menu on another day/evening.

Stayed 3 nights in camping site, very spacious and good basic facilities. Just eaten in pub as restaurant was closed Monday and Tuesday. The portions are humongous and very tasty.

This was our third visit to this Inn. Again Staff very pleasant, tables and floors clean and tidy. Food was as usual, well cooked well presented, and served well. No grips from me.

Fantastic little pub, really good food. We are currently staying on their CL, great little site, spotlessly clean shower and toilet. Definitely will return.

Amazing staff, delicious carvery, perfect in every way

Visited for a Sunday lunch today. The carvery was amazing. The beef was so lean and tender, vegetables cooked perfectly (not watery and overcooked like many places I have tried), mash so soft and buttery, and the Yorkshire pudding, stuffing and gravy were off the scale tasty. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit. Best to book for the carvery.

Very friendly crowd! Preparing for New Year Karaoke.

The pub is small but the staff are super friendly. The food is amazing and drinks are really well priced. Portions are amazing and food is such good value. We have been several times and even taken the kids which was good. There are no kid portions but our two split a meal which worked great. Pay for drinks in the bar and food in the restaurant.

Great place for sunday Dinner, small regular and large. I had the regular which was plenty big enough. Good idea to book first to save disappointment. Food is excellent 3 meats and loads of veg served on a good sized plate. All the staff are very friendly and it's a good turned out pub/ restaurant. Plenty of beers in a rural setting with a good sized carpark. Location not far from Lincoln west bypass from Pennells roundabout.

We were treated to a meal by friends. All four of us went. The food was brilliant, well cooked and plentiful. The service could not be faulted and we did by it feel rushed. An excellent experience all round I would recommend to anyone.
