The Bugle Horn in North Kesteven

Came here for food last week with family and everyone left very happy. The food quality was great and the service from the was very friendly.

First in at lunchtime. Wasn’t very clean in general. Cold. Fire had just been lit but smoke infiltrated the room we were sat in…. Should have been done way before opening time. Ordered food. 3 had what can only be described as very average quality meals ( 1 was steak which reviews said were good) and 2 of us had fish,chips & mushy peas. Didn’t like this great classic served on a wooden board! Fish was incinerated for both of us. Landlady was too busy talking to a regular in the side room, didn’t ask if everything was ok. Read reviews before we came and was looking forward to it… but felt very disappointed after bringing family … would not eat or drink here again.

Had a Sunday roast dinner the food was excellent, well cooked and plenty of it. The land lady is very friendly. We will definitely be going back and.would and have all ready recommend it EXCELLENT

Where to start the place homely the owners so welcoming then there is the food if you enjoy great food and a more than generous portion at a fantastic price than look no further we was recommended to go here and we keep going back

I had a great evening at the pub, even when the there was a birthday party on where the birthday lady was very rude to the staff and to other local guests, the landlord & landlady made sure you still felt very welcomed! I can’t think of a better place to go back to! Certainly 5 stars from me!

We held a wake here for our dad/ grandfather and we simply just couldn’t have asked for better. For what was such a sad time, pat and Carolyn were just lovely. They couldn’t have been more accommodating if they tried, nothing was too much trouble, we were able to personalise what we wanted for the buffet so that it was very much about our dad/grandfather. The food was outstanding, exactly what was requested and more! everyone commented on it. Carolyn’s bread and butter pudding was the favourite and out of this world. We also held a 60th birthday here for our father and that also was a faultless evening with lovely food and fantastic service. Lovely owners and an asset to the village.

We arrived at the Bugle Horn to prepare for a private family party that had been booked months ago. It was rather a shock to find out so rudely that it was expected despite in the pouring rain that the party would onky be outside especially when the side bar had been booked. The person who had booked ended up having to come down to sort this out. It was not nice. A savoury buffet had been ordered and sadly it just came out as a lot of the same processed finger food. The limited pizza was in hot demand as it was the only thing looked appetizing. Despite having booked the side bar the Bugle Horn at decided to let regulars in the sidebar and let them turn the TV on and turn it up loud all in the middle of a family party. The poor band had to finish a few minutes early as where they were told to set up (weatherproof) dripped all over key equipment which would then not work properly. The band was actually fantastic. The final straw was the fact that a private band had been booked and the Bugle Horn decided to post an invite for any of its customers to come. Suggest you do not have a party at this pub or just expect to be treated appallingly.

Absolutely amazing! Food was incredible!!!! Staff was friendly, helpful and very accommodating for our big booking. We all enjoyed it and are definitely booking again. Thank you.

We attended on 21st July with a very large party of 26 people. The service was impeccable despite only having a small number of staff and the food was even better. Having all the food come out at the same time, correct and hot is a feat that would have made other venues fail but not here - there wasn’t anything we could have complained about. We attend events at Lincolnshire showground every year and this will be the new venue we will be attending for our social meals. 1000/10

I visited with a large group of friends on Friday 21st and staff at The Bugle Horn were fantastic. They catered for all our needs and endeavoured to make our time there as easy as it could possibly be. It was organised, the food was delicious (the sole chef in the kitchen smashed it cooking for around 20) and I thoroughly enjoyed my T-Bone steak. It just melted in the mouth and the home cooked chips were some of the nicest I had tried as well! Overall thoroughly enjoyable and not to mention the price of food for the quality of the end result was very fair. Will hopefully return again if I get chance too! ☺️

We’ve eaten here on a few occasions, initially my husband was rather dismissive, the pub has an old fashioned appearance, but after trying a steak and realising that the more basic appearance is deceptive it’s now one of his favourites. It’s a case of good honest pub food with no fancy unnecessary frills, a warm welcome, hearty meals and decent prices. A great local for those living nearby.

Always a lovely meal and friendly welcome. We go most weeks. Book early as they get busy (on Steak nights)

We was recommended to try this pub restaurant and my word what an experience the place is absolutely lovely with low beams and the staff are friendly and have a great sense off humour and well the web site said home made chips and wow they are fantastic it may sound daft but you could taste the potato we both had mixed grill and it was cooked to perfection We will definitely be going back because the menu had such a great choice To finish this review off all we can say is THANK YOU AND SEE YOU SOON

We’ve been a few times for steak night, which is amazing value for consistently top notch food, but this time we were entertaining family from Australia so thought we would take them to the Bugle Horn. It didn’t disappoint as everyone had a fabulous meal. I had the Louisiana gumbo casserole, which was unbelievably tasty. The others had fish and chips, the mixed grill, and the sirloin steak, all beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. I can’t recommend this pub highly enough. The landlord and landlady always go the extra mile for you and nothing is too much trouble.

I’ll be honest I’m almost scared to leave a the brilliant review which is deserved in case it means I can’t get a table when I want one! I’ve visited 5 times in the past couple of months & had outstanding food every time, from burgers to Sunday roast then most recently gorgeous fish & chips. Food is prepared & cooked fresh & served piping hot, landlady is super friendly & I highly recommend trying out this. Prices are so reasonable for very generous portions.

Fantastic food, lovely atmosphere, service impeccable, would strongly recommend. This was far the best Sunday lunch we have ever had. Will definitely be returning and not just for Sunday lunch. Hubby and friends have eaten here previously and they all had a fantastic mixed grill.

We love this pub. Small and welcoming. Good beer, cider, lager, so I was informed by those drinking them. Shared some chips and sandwiches, great chips.

Took our elderly Dad in for an evening meal, we were well looked after and food was lovely. Locals also friendly in helping us in with wheelchair. Will definitely go back for a meal, highly recommend.

Mi muchacho estaba en casa con permiso y lleva la insignia que cuelga en el costado del pub, así que pensé que sería un placer y una sorpresa para él tomar unas cuantas cervezas y una comida allí, revisar los horarios de apertura, el almuerzo del 12 al 3 y partió solo para encontrar las puertas aún cerradas en 1230, condujo alrededor de la aldea 3 veces revisando la puerta 3 veces más sin éxito, se rindió y regresó a Lincoln, si usted anuncia el tiempo, luego abre las puertas o cierra completamente las puertas. ! ! ! !

Wow this place was lifeless! No atmosphere and simply dead! The drinks were good n reasonably priced but it was like drinking in a morgue. If your after a atmospheric pub this is not the place!

This is a delightful old coaching inn, with excellent beers and hearty, well-presented meals at very reasonable prices. The pub runs many interesting entertainments, with something for everyone, and there is always a friendly reception. My son and I run a monthly folk music evening in the main bar, and nothing is too much trouble for the management. I would recommend the Bugle Horn to everybody.

Went there with my wife's family the other Sunday for lunch. The meal was excellent. Our Roast Beef diner was obviously local produce. My wife's mum and dad had lasagne which were generously sized. My brother in laws burger was quite sizeable as well. make no mistake this is a good village pub which does very good meals. Have no doubt we shall return in a few weeks.

What a fabulous gem of a village pub, it was a wet cold day so the roaring fire was just what we needed. We ate in the bar which is so cosy, the landlord made us so welcome as did the few locals that were in there. Homemade chips were delicious and I can highly recommend the burgers, battered fish & vegetable lasagne. We will definitely be returning, a big big Thank you for a very pleasant comfortable lunch.

Trasladarse a la zona y tratando de encontrar lugares para comer y beber. Nos encontramos en los mapas de Google y pensamos probarlo. Fue por encima de la media, yo diría. Ambos elegimos la hamburguesa y oferta de cerveza, buena relación calidad-precio a 8 libras. 99 cada uno. Los dos aspectos negativos que escogería son las hamburguesas eran un poco más de hecho y a pesar de que la botella de ketchup HEINZ dijo que no sabe como Heinz sabía como una opción más barata en la botella. Había una buena selección de cervezas y cervezas mezcladas con su habitual cervezas. Los terratenientes fueron amable y hablador, sospechamos que habría más ambiente por la noche, cuando más concurrido como sus pintorescas. En lo recomendaría como un lugar para visitar.

Nosotros cuatro más dos perros disfrutamos de una agradable comida. Nada era demasiado problema, especialmente porque uno de nuestro grupo es vegetariana. Este fue satisfecha sin problemas. Nuestros perros nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos, como nosotros. El menú era simple, pub y disfrutamos de nuestro platos. Volveremos!

Nos alojamos en Norton Disney con la familia. Encontramos el Bugle Horn en tripadvisor. Otros bares de la zona estaban muy recomendado pero parecía caro. El Bugle Horn sin embargo parecía ofrecer mucho mejor relación calidad-precio.

Metimos en la cena durante su estancia en la calle de Norton Disney. Stasff acogedor, la comida muy buena calidad, precios muy razonables. Definitivamente recomendado.

We were in lincoln for the sausage festival and stayed just down the road from the bugle horn so in we popped and we are so glad we did what a little gem hidden away.

Una visita de regreso a el Bugle Horn para una cena esta semana. Como siempre una muy cálida bienvenida, fuego, mano maravillosas sacó Navidad cervezas y una opción sencilla pero espléndido de menú. ¿Qué más podemos decir - pruébalo, no te decepcionará.

Used to live in this village but never used the pub dined there last night.the fire was lit and the home cooked food was amazing. The land lady was friendly and welcoming. Local ales on tap, will return.

Had Sunday lunch here with friends who were visiting for the day. Food was fantastic, all adults had the Sunday roast which was outstanding and great value for money. Most of the kids weren't that bothered about roast dinner but that's just kids, so we were very great full that pizzas were available, which they loved. Can't praise this place enough, great food, cooked well and a proper village pub atmosphere 5 stars!!!

We stopped here yesterday on route to our hotel, and had rump steak meals (Thursday's are steak night specials) the steaks were cooked to perfection, the chips were HOME MADE not frozen rubbish so were the onion rings. The salad was not the usual cheap lettuce leaf with a slice of cucumber on top, there was baby leaves with tomatoes and cue all nicely seasoned and dressed. Our plates were so full we did not have room for deserts but they sounded so tempting, we asked if we could take them away for later, this was no problem, the staff were so lovely they even carried them out to our car for us (we are both disabled).so now to price, Stuart had 4 beers I had cappachino 2 steak dinners and 2 deserts packed to take away and a tip, £40. Thank you to all for a wonderful evening and I really really want the recipe for your velvet cheesecake, to die for!

Just celebrated our anniversary tonight and never tasted such succulent steak and husband had a fantastic mixed grill. Highly recommended

Been here plenty off times and never ever been disappointed ,fantastic home cooked food. Service is always good we had scampi,lasagne,and kids had pizza all was top food served with a smile ,plenty eating and the size off the mix grill is stunning ,will recommend to anyone

Both me and my partner have been to eat here on numerous occasions and we have always found the food more then acceptable! The service is always with a smile and to a high standards, last time I ordered the scampi and my partner ordered the steak. The steak was cooked exactly to order.My scampi was simply perfect! Cooked perfectly not over or under cooked! I would personally recommend this pub to anyone wanting a excellent meal! no faults what so ever! Will certainly be coming again!

i think that the blonde traveller must have had a blonde moment.we have eaten here on quite a few occasions.never had a bad meal yet.service is always exceptional considering that they dont have waitress service.the food is truly brilliant and plenty of it.has the blondetraveller got the bugle mixed up with the bells in bassingham.

Myself and my wife visited on Saturday 18th July upon recommendation from a friend, we left very disappointed.We ate in the lounge and ordered scampi for both of us.The food arrived and was inedible the scampi was clearly overcooked and we both had difficulty trying to keep it on the plate( rock hard). Meanwhile two other customers were at the bar swearing and passing wind. The cost of the meal and drinks was 25 pounds we are in no certain terms snobs but this is clearly unacceptable. We will not be returning again

I have been to eat on several occasions, from the bugle burger to the lasagne! There is no in between impeccable meals! Great for value! Staff are friendly and will go out there way for you! If you haven't been then your missing out!

Visited recently to have Dinner with family. Lovely straight forward honest meal, friendly hosts and excellent service, coupled with good beers. What more could anyone ask for -pop in and give it a try.

visited again on friday night,four of us we had steak, mixed grill scampi and smoked haddock and spring onion fishcakes all were deliciious as usual and well cooked by patrick the landlord who shares the cooking with his wife who was front of house for a change but the cooking was the same high standard as hers and you never come away hungry from here ,SUPER MEALS

We nearly didn't eat here as it's not the most attractive pub, a small bar and rather basic but decided to 'give it a go', how glad we were, lovely tender ribs, cooked so the meat is falling of the bone, a juicy and full of flavour steak and nice friendly staff.

a huge steak plate absolutely full of all you want if you are a big eater proper chips, crispy onion rings grilled tomato, mushrooms peas crispy salad and a huge steak cooked to perfection just as ordered by us all ! 4 of us ordered two rare two med rare and all perfect . in a traditional old pub , no airs and graces but better than the "plastic pubs" that are the vogue now with mine host and his wife doing all the work and having the time to pass the time of day with the diners and locals i noticed a 24oz steak on the menu NOT A CHANCE for me but at less than £20 00 you would get the best value anywhere ...... and be full for days..

I am not always particularly bothered about steaks but the steaks they do at The Bugle are really good. The steak night is excellent value but even full price it is great. Plenty of food and served with a smile. The themed food evenings are good value and they cater well for dietry requirements and if warned beforehand will go well beyond what you would usually expect. Certainly worth trying.

i have never had a bigger or better one in over 55 years of going to a pub for a meal , steak liver lamb chop , pork chop, gammon ,mushrooms onion rings salad and proper chips all cooked to perfection on a damned great plate . it even beat me and i can usually eat all that is put before me , the son in law asked if i wanted a doggy bag ? . i said we aint got a dog but yes ! .the girls had scampi and there was loads of them s well . altogether a memorable night out . SUPER ! .. LIKE ARNIE SAYS WE WILL BE BACK . thanks . oh yes and its a proper old fashioned pub with beams etc . a bit out the way but well worth the drive !!!!
