Superb chippy, rarely had a better fishy feast than the tempting grub on offer at The Fish King in North Hykeham. Fantastic fish, sometimes you get one the size of a small shark and the chip portions are large too. The associated choices, fishcakes, burgers, etc are all top notch too. Sensational food, can't beat it. Recommended

As per usual, very busy but the staff are very well organised and complete orders efficiently. Meals were all piping hot and delicious. Hands down the best chippy in Hykeham.

We haven’t used this chippy for about a year The last time we had food here it was lovely But tonight omg!!!!! Shocking it was disgusting the chips had a really dry horrible taste to them none of us could eat them Won’t ever use this place again! My husband was shocked cause apparently it was quite busy!!

Excellent and reasonable price by today's crazy standards

Came to get fish and chips expecting fresh fish to order like most chippies.. here they had around 10 fish already cooked and ready to go in the warmer.. I appreciate preparing for a rush but there were only 2 customers in the shop and fish only takes a few minutes to fry fresh. Our fish had soggy batter and the fish itself was rubbery, probably due to being sat in the warmer previously. The fish had no decent flavour, nor did the chips, except for the taste of possibly old potatoes, maybe the last toward the end of a batch. The chips were also soggy and coming apart in the wrapping despite us opening them up and tucking in minutes after purchase (still in the car, eager to eat before we got home) there is no good reason for this quality except laziness. Would not recommend especially as there are many chip shops in the surrounding area with much higher quality.

Well over six miles from my house, but the delicious fish and chips make the journey worthwhile. I've rarely had to queue for more that a few minutes, and have never had to wait for cod. Chip portions are really generous. Helpful staff.

It’s enough to say it’s one of the best chippies in East Midlands. When living in area surrounded by average to very bad chippies, I always look forward to next trip to Lincoln where this place is a must go stop on a journey.

Amazing fish and chips! The staff is friendly and polite, service is always quick and value for money is great. The fish is fresh and tasty, the batter is just perfect and the chips are delicious. We love their chip shop curry sauce, it's so flavoursome! They certainly use quality ingredients and they are very consistent. And the portions are enormous!

Fantastic girls serving , and delicious fish and chips

Chips on the evening of 2nd June were awful. Dried up and inedible. The quality was extremely poor and they should be ashamed to let these go out. I felt like bagging them up and taking them back.

Stopped off on way back from the airport after holidays and craved fish and chips and was sadly let down. Soggy and greasy and chips were floury and bland. Was recommended to us in the past but due to not being close by hadn't had a chance to go. Had three bites and felt sick it was that soggy and greasy. Spent over £20 on it to be wasted as it was terrible. Would not recommend it to anyone and has put me personally off fish and chips for the foreseeable future.

What a fantastic fish and chip shop. The staff are very friendly and the prices are really reasonable. Cannot fault the fish and chips some of the best we have ever had. Would recommend if you haven’t tried this fish and chip shop please give it a go sure you won’t be disappointed.

Great fish and chips!! The batter contains no milk so it’s perfect for anyone with milk intolerance. The staff are really friendly and I get served quickly. The food is delicious and there’s plenty in their portions. I definitely recommend here

Fresh out yhe fryer and lovely fish, altho tiny. Chips were either frozen or processed.. lots of reasons I know this...but I do know! So highly disappointed today I'm afraid.

Me and my partner visited today! And was very disappointed by the taste of nuggets and chips that tasted like urine! We ordered to sides and only got one! Never will we visit again

Have gone here for years always been good but visited recently and the menu had changed. Instead of Haddock, Cod etc it just said Fish. I asked what type of fish was it and was told erm think its haddock. Got it home didnt taste like Haddock or Cod probably coley Or whiting. Not good enough.

Very disappointed This chip shop used to be the best in the area, however having got home with our meals, when we opened the chips I thought they had given us mashed potato. It was difficult to find an individual chip, the mushy peas had so much green food colour in them I thought the Hulk had had an accident, they were very dark green (unnatural). The batter on the fish was also very average and not as bubbly crispy as I have experienced from this chip shop before. We had ordered a regular and a large fish but it was impossible to tell the difference between the two and neither fish was that large. We will not be visiting again in a hurry. Have given The Fish King another try, and what a difference!!! This has completely turned round and is back to being the best, well done,staff are excellent too 5 stars

THE FISH KING has recently opened in Lincoln. It is by the side of the river, opposite Marks and Spencer. Went today and can recommend it. Nice food, clean restaurant and pleasant service. I had Regular fish, chips, mushy peas bread butter and tea. £8.95. If you visit Lincoln you will find this to be a good ‘PLAICE’ to visit

Great fish always cooked perfectly, light brown batter. Busy on Friday tea, but you can click and collect. Loads of staff at busy times so waiting time is minimum. Friendly staff always. Medium fish is large, fish is what I call 'thick' no thin fillets here. I would say better than the 'elite', its always very consistent food too. You won't be disappointed.

Been a great chip shop for years but tonight I got served a potato fritter rather than fish. An honest mistake I'm sure but there was a lot of kids behind the counter tonight and not much supervision.

Quite simply the best Fish & Chips ANYWHERE and has been as good since the day it opened years ago.

I only write reviews if they are exceptionally good or exceptionally bad, there is no inbetween. Fish King has always been very good, never had any complaints whatsoever. Their new potato chips were absolutely gorgeous! And with their haddock it was a beautifully cooked meal. Can't fault it. I'm not going to waste my time going anywhere else. I have tried a few others in Lincoln and have been very disappointed.

Lovely staff serving brilliant fish and chips. The size of their large haddock is unbelievable, too big for my largest plate. I portion of fish and chips feeds two of us. And at a very competitive price. Service time is fast. Deserves 6 stars

Lovely chips, massive portion sizes, really friendly staff. Several vegetarian options available and everything is cooked in vegetable oil, not animal fat. This is my favourite chippy which I visit every time I'm in Lincolnshire. (Incidentally, everyone calls this place 'The Forum Chippy' and many locals don't even know it's called The Fish King!)
