Unfortunately this has now closed, and is a home. SAD to say as was a fantastic tea room. I believe it has been closed for a year or so and property was sold.

Been back and our thoughts are still the same.... What a lovely local pub this is. The service was good, food fresh and home made. We had the beef sunday dinner and it was really nice. Plenty of veg and gravy to go with. We will defo go back when next in the area. I actually forgot to take photos of my food. I would recommend booking.

Tables not cleared, peas cold and hard. Tea for 2 ...2 mugs with hot water and a tea bag plonked in. After 10 mins asked for tables to be cleared not one uncleared table.when we walked in. Not very inspiring menu. No tip this time.

Extremely over priced! The food was late and very cold. Paid over £70 for 3 meal! I had a tandoori and from the taste and texture I would say it was at least 2 days old. This is the second time I feel I have been ripped off by this place and can confidently say there will not be a third!

Siempre disfrutamos de visitar y disfrutar de la comida. Recientemente tuvimos el almuerzo en la tienda de la granja cafetería / restaurante que era excelente. El servicio fue amable y rápido. Mis únicas quejas fueron el café, yo tenía un blanco plano que era débil y no realmente hecho como un blanco plano debería ser, y los precios son altos cuando se compara con otras tiendas agrícolas similares, es decir, Chatsworth por lo demás muy bueno.

Doddington House itself was under refurbishment, but that didn't matter. Not sure where the Afternoon Tea is happening normally (as the tea-room parking was opposite the house (other side of the road) , but the entrance was not in the house. A more recent building at the side, where the farm shop, café and their parking are located. No problem. We were welcomed friendly and guided to our table. A pleasant atmosphere, with a simple, but nice decoration. Enough space regarding Covid measures. When entering we were asked if any diets had to be taken into consideration. And yes, 1 of us is vegetarian. So a Vegetarian menu was added. We were offered some time to have a look at the menu. It mentioned several AT-menu's (bread, cakes and scone, with tea or coffee. For the vegetarian one, humus was used (in stead of meat). Everything was served shortly after ordering, together with a big pot of fresh tea. We opted for the traditional Afternoon Tea Menu's. A lot of food, good food. The ladies asked a few times, in a friendly, not imposing way, if everything was OK and if we wanted another pot of tea, when assuming it was getting empty. We, appreciated very much. We will surely return. As mentioned thee was a lot of good food, the scones were really nice, with cream and jam. And we were offered a box to take left-overs home. I am allergic to Garlic and often struggle to find things to eat in restaurants. The staff here were so friendly, they checked through ingredients and even offered to tweak the menu to make me something. Even though the pub is a Hungry Horse, the staff made it feel like a local, rather than a franchise.
