First visit after one or two recommendations. It did not disappoint! Amazing food , friendly professional staff. Would highly recommend .Had breakfast this morning , but will be returning soon to sample Sunday lunch .

Came for Sunday dinner and a couple of drinks. Food was hot, fresh and really tasty. Very warm & welcoming environment. I will definitely be coming back! Thank you Market Lounge.

If you would like to go to a cosy little gem of an eatery, be glared at as if you shouldn’t be there, happy to be spoken to with an awful attitude, and then wait for over an hour for a lunchtime sandwich that has to eventually be boxed up in a pizza box for you to take back to work, how dare you not tell them that you don’t have an unlimited lunch break or that you have to leave to get back to work , if you’re happy to be growled at that you still have to pay for the aforementioned service - then this is the place for you , shocking attitude, poor customer service and a really negative experience. Never again not ever , will be surprised if they are still open this time next year.

We have been here twice for breakfast now and thought it was excellent, good choice on menu, full English, bacon sandwich and eggs Benedict all delicious and could not fault in any way, even the coffee was good. Orange juice served chilled with chilled glass as well. Staff friendly. Highly recommend but also that you book as they are incredibly busy. Only slight negative was that we found the music inside too loud but can live with that as the food is so good.

By far and away, the BEST breakfast in the Lincoln area for breakfast! Quality ingredients, everything cooked to perfection and big thick slices of toast! I've only had the full English but I absolutely have to say this is a fantastic place for a full cooked breakfast. I never go anywhere else anymore!

Absolutely fabulous roast beef. Everything was cooked to perfection - including the cauliflower cheese which is very difficult to get right. Huge pot of delicious gravy. Compliments to the chef and team - recommend. Also Tilly was the sweetest waitress, a real asset - well done ♥️

Eaten here several times since moving to Witham, we got served tonight by a member of staff called Miles who went the extra mile for us all. Very friendly person & chatty. 10/10

I came in this morning for breakfast and had a lovely lady who served me and my partner and could see that she was busy my breakfast burito was spot on & so was my partners food I also came later this evening with friends & partner and got seen by Myles who was absolutely great and managed to have a laugh with. Food was fantastic and the atmosphere is lovely and its also very reasonably priced

The booking was for twelve, at lunch. The place was warm and inviting made more so by the friendly staff. Six ordered fish and chips. Four were acceptable and eaten. Now as we all know, the batter is to protect the flesh of the fish from the heat of the oil, allowing the fish to steam dry from wet to succulent pearl white flakes. On this occasion the batter over did its primary function and protect the fish so well, that upon opening the coat the fish was swimming in water. From the remnants left there was enough food to have feed another five. Everyone said what they ate was sufficient for them. Try for seating away from the kitchen door.

Just a really nice place to enjoy good drinks, food and service. Working breakfasts are the best here 😁

We went for breakfast. Service was friendly and efficient. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. I would recommend this establishment for a good hearty breakfast and a good selection of cakes too.

Really lovely brunch, however waited over an hour for all our meals and had a child in our party. Busy Sunday and so definitely was waiting a while.

Stopped off on way south from Lincoln, just off the A1 (5mins). We had lunch - philly beef and an Italian chicken sandwich, great size portion. The pizza and ploughman Platters the table next to us looked amazing. Good quality and very reasonable price. We enjoyed the food and service was great.

Brilliant place!!! First visit in a very long time. Everyone was super friendly and polite. Food was outstanding. Service outstanding too as they were very busy. If you are looking for a huge breakfast this is the place to be. Really good and if it beats you they are happy to box it so you can finish it at home. Hot drinks were exactly that where most places I've been lately have been lukewarm at best. Throughly recommend. Great experience, thanks folks.

Unfortunately had a really bad experience recently. This place is owner operated which I'm all for being a small business owner myself. But they take things too personally. I complained about my burger being too tough and the waitress was rude (once I managed to get her attention). When she did listen, she stated "ill get the cook then and you can tell him" Then I spoke to the cook and owner who was very sensible and kind, he offered to take off 50% of my meal which honestly wasn't good enough but I accepted and advised of be happy to return to try something else. Then we tried to pay and the the other owner (female) took payment, she didn't acknowledge us at first then asked for payment, we questioned the amount she was due that we expected the onion rings to be discounted as they were terrible and I only ate one. She made a very rude shrugging facial gesture which we challenged. I was really nice about the complaint and they took it personally and was then rude, I don't be going back and don't recommend it bae on either the food or service. The ambience is quite nice though, and I hope the male owner gets new staff as the 2 women are rude and act like it's their home not a business. Like the look the woman gave me when I asked for more ketchup, you'd think I'd asked for her first born child!

Been wanting to come here for a while now and try it. My partner brought me for breakfast this morning and honestly, was the BEST breakfast I have ever had. The blonde lady who served us was also really lovely! All staff seemed very friendly and there was such a peaceful atmosphere! Loved it and will definitely be back! If you’re wanting a large, tasty breakfast that won’t break the bank, would definitely advise trying the market lounge!

Came here for a nice meal to witness the rudest most unprofessional member of staff I have ever come across in any hospitality business . Quite blatantly slating customers sat at table near us , loud enough behind the bar for us to hear and giving them the dirtiest looks . I couldn’t actually believe someone could be so unprofessional. Witnessing what happened I don’t deem the behaviour of said waitress necessary at all. purely on the unprofessionalism I won’t be going back.

While this place has a pleasant atmosphere the service we received was below standard. 45 mins for two sandwiches is unacceptable. Particularly as the place was not even half full and it wasn't even a peak period.n

Superb and friendly service from all 3 ladies we spoke to. A special shout out to Phoebe the cook, who made two wonderful breakfasts for us- one Mediterranean and one kindly adapted Eggs Benedict (replacing the salmon for mushrooms to make them veggie). Can't praise them enough and will definitely go back!

The food was good. However, it took 45 minutes to even get a drink and 95 minutes before our food arrived! Staff apologised and claimed they had been busy, yet there were plenty of tables empty.

Needed a central point for three parts of our family to 'meet in the middle'. Put a pin in the map and found the Market Lounge. Rang and booked hoping for the best and were not disappointed. Sunday lunch was available in three sizes with a choice of meats and optional side orders. Hot pudding of the day or selection from the cold display. Hopefully will use again for our next gathering.

On my first visit as a customer, while out on a motorcycle ride, I chose the eggs royale. It was finger licking goooood! Everything was tasty, the flavours perfectly blending together on the sourdough bread just gave me the pick up I was looking for. A chilled and friendly environment, for a moment I didn't even feel like getting up to continue my ride. Thanks Gary and crew, keep up the good work. The milkshake was spot on too! A huge thumbs-up, next time I'll be bringing people along!

Great local, staff are amazingly warm, friendly and funny, beer is cold, great selection, lots of spirits/cocktails etc and always a god vibe in there. Love having it on my doorstep. Not had food yet but what ive seen looks delish.

Came in for a Sunday lunch on a nice sunny afternoon and was sat in the outdoor seating area which is decorated beautifully however me and my partner could hear fighting coming from the kitchen with some horrible language being used . It really ruined the atmosphere . Despite the fact it wasn't extremely busy our food took a good half an hour to arrive and it arrived lukewarm . Really disappointing food and atmosphere would not recommend.

Fantastic family drink and cake.

Been coming to the Market Lounge since it opened. It’s always been a little disjointed of what it is, cafe, bar or restaurant. Since the last manger left, it’s got a lot better. Service is very good as well as the atmosphere. Not that I’ve eaten recently here however, the food coming out does look good and its alway fairly busy which is a good sign.

Good quality coffee, but 3 tables were empty as they had been reserved so we were lucky to get a seat. The people after us weren't so lucky and had to go elsewhere.

Not as good an experience as my previous review. The older lovely friendly waitress was absent on this occasion and the quality of the breakfast was not as good. The bread was well beyond its best even when toasted. Latte in a smaller cup and not very warm.

Really like the Market Lounge. It's comfortable, has a very nice aestethetic, nice selection of drinks and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The outdoor space is nice in the summer too. Bar service can be a bit of a pain (was much easier with table service) and when the bar is busy it can be a bit cramped. Overall I'd definitely recommend the Market Lounge

It was probably not the best day to judge things with it being the busiest day of the year it being mothers day. But everyone seemed to enjoy it so enough said.

Really got a surprise when I visited this place. A cafe in the middle of a housing estate that also sells alcohol and a really good selection too. It has an outside seating area, free WiFi and the staff were absolutely brilliant. Next time I am in the area I will definitely call in. 5 stars all day

Visited here on Sunday for a roast dinner with my family. Fantastic food, good portions, brilliant service! Manageress, Charlie, couldn’t do enough for us! Made sure we were comfortable, that all our dietary requirements were met and plenty of room for our pushchair. Brilliant atmosphere! Will definitely be returning!

Delicious breakfast food & decent service at a reasonable price. The place was very busy when we arrived but lots of the tables are for 4 or 6 people & only had 2 diners at each, frustratingly meaning that several sets of people had to queue for tables despite there being lots of seats spare. For this reason I can’t give it 5/5. This might be bad luck due to time we arrived & to be fair it thinned out not long later. I’d go back.

Often come here for cakes and lunch. The cakes and tray bakes were out of this world. but as of 21 Sep - no kitchen, no table service. It’s just a pub now. What a shame.

During a visit for breakfast, four of us had seen advertised, on the Market Lounge door, an evening of musical entertainment. Based on the standard of food at breakfast, we decided this would be a good event and booked a table at 6pm on 31/7/22. A telephone call, approximately a week before the event, advised that the kitchen would stop food orders at 5pm and changed our booking to 4.45pm. A bit of a pain involving a change of shift but still thought it would be worth it. On arrival, we ordered our mains and were assured the desserts would be provided afterwards. Not so, the poor waitress had to advise us the Chef had ‘gone home’ as we finished our mains and were about to order desserts. We were offered free cake and ice cream by way of compensation. Sadly, although two people in the party were vegan, there was only one piece of vegan shortcake left! There had only been one choice of mains for the vegans too! One of us settled for a free wine in lieu of dessert! Not quite what we had envisaged. The musician, who we could hardly hear, must have gone home when the chef did because we only heard him singing to himself outside as we arrived. We did hear a lot of a group sitting at a nearby table who competed to be heard over each other. The waitress was lovely and had our sympathy as she struggled to make up for the Market Lounge’s shortfalls. The food we had was good but we expect better than this. We may do breakfast here again, but never dinner. Dinner at the Market Lounge is a total let down, never again!

My husband and I popped in yesterday for a light lunch. We stood like a couple of spare parts at the front door thinking we would need to be seated. The staff meanwhile were chattering behind the counter. A member of the public giggled and said table service get yourself a seat. We did, we both chose the chicken, chorizo ciabatta. To say it was a disappointment is an understatement. The ciabatta had been thrown together, with a crappy salad no bigger than your hand. My daughter of 11 could have done a better job! £22 lighter and disappointed won’t be visiting again. Even more disappointing was seeing the two chefs and waitress tabbing round the side when we left! I personally would think twice if you were to think about going here!

Decided to go for a drink while waiting for takeaway pizza, dirty tables waited nearly 20 minutes after ordering drinks & it wasn't even busy, probably under staffed & the girl taking the drink order looked scruffy, sorry won't be returning 😐

Good coffee that is reasonably priced. A couple of us had chips and they were quite greasy. Needed lots of ketchup to drown out the grease. Cake is good but very pricey. Long waits at the moment even to pay.

Well situated bar and bistro on the modern residential estate in Witham St Hughes. Pleasant venue with good food and drinks selection. Staff are welcoming. £££.

Thatchers Gold cider on tap and fantastic fish and chips. Add in great service and you have a really great hidden gem here.
