Doddington Cafe and Restaurant in North Kesteven

Breakfast was nice. The service was a little frosty as was the temperature. There was a lot of people in coats and even scarves. I know heating is expensive but please turn up the thermostat a notch. This is the second time recently that I’ve been and I have been cold. 🥶 Nobody checked back on the breakfast but it was very tasty as was the coffee

We had the pancakes with maple syrup and bacon, and they were so good we went back again for them another day! The pancakes were light, fluffy and tasty, the bacon crispy and the maple syrup delicious. A good pot of tea and an excellent, hot mocha made lovely accompaniments. Prompt, friendly service and all food cooked to order. Highly recommended.

First visit and it didn’t disappoint. Excellent food, cheerful, welcoming and helpful staff and relaxed atmosphere. Great spot to round off a tour of the house and gardens. We’ll definitely be back. Many thanks.

Had a fantastic breakfast here, wife had vegetarian option breakfast both perfectly cooked &prompt friendly service. Will definitely return again, only this time to sample the gorgeous looking cakes.

Often visit the Cafe for breakfast travelling from Nottingham for the amazing Sausage Bap (we call them cobs in Nottingham 😉) The service is friendly and welcoming with plenty of tables inside and in summer on the outside as well. There are several car parks on site with ample disability parking available. My wife will often go to the farm shop to buy a bunch of cooking sauces from a good selection. Next door to the Cafe/Farm Shop is the wonderful Doddington Hall & Gardens, a must vist and especially the gardens in late spring / early summer. I would highly recommend a vist to all three. Doddington Park Cafe has a spacious interior that accommodates a good-sized seating area. However the massive sausage rolls were the best part, The delectable aroma and perfectly flaky pastry make these treats a must-try for any visitor. Overall, Doddington Park Cafe provides a delightful combination of a welcoming atmosphere,not too busy, extensive drink options, and mouthwatering sausage rolls, making it a top choice for a satisfying and enjoyable experience.

Very busy on the day we visited, and the staff were totally on the ball at getting everyone seated when a table became free. All the servers were so cheerful and kind, super fast service, and oh the food! My partner and I both had the Doddington herd Lincoln red burgers, absolutely delicious, couldn't recommend this cafe and restaurant enough, we'll definitely be back!

Visited this beautiful place in the picturesque snow. Wow were blown away by our experience. It was so busy but Amy the manager was so efficient and friendly and even chatted with our children about Christmas while we waited for a table. We were given a menu while we waited and the staff worked so hard to clear tables and get people seated quickly. It was so organised that we didn't have to wait long. The food was fantastic. Freshly prepared and arrived quickly I had the turkey special and my husband had the bubble and squeak and it was great. Good offering for children too. The staff were all friendly and well trained and Amy even took the time to say bye to us and wish us and our children a merry Christmas. A very enjoyable experience. Welldone to all the staff and particularly Amy. Who the children talked about all the way home.

Visited with friends on the first day of Xmas festivities. A queue to get a table but the staff were keeping everyone informed of timings and when tables may become available. Had coffee’s and cake. The cake’s were delicious and service excellent. On return we will definitely program a full lunch and a walk around the retail outlets to then walk off the calories.

We visit Doddington as the shops always offer things seldom found elsewhere, expensive but exclusive and worth the visit. We just had a late lunch for 2 in the main restaurant. My wife had the Winter Salad, with grilled of roasted carrots, I forget which. Basically a bowl of mixed leaves with some cold sliced carrots barely charred and virtually raw. The promised marmalade dressing was virtually non-existent. My wife ate about 50% and left the rest. I had bubble & squeak with gammon. The bubble & squeak was a burnt block of mashed veg and potato, barely warm and truly rock solid. The gammon turned out to be ice cold sliced ham straight from the fridge. Both meals terrible and a big disappointment. The waitresses were polite and seemed obviously over-worked, no-one asked if we enjoyed our meals, even when removing the only half eaten plates. Over priced poor quality food that doesn't live up to the Menu's expectation. A shame really as we are local and have fond memories of eating here in the past.

The food was absolutely lovely! We tried the pheasant, which is a new addition to the menu. Really tasty and it arrived quickly. The service was also as brilliant as ever. Looking forward to returning soon!

Very easy to book our afternoon tea via the Doddington Hall website- certainly essential as it can be very busy. We were greeted by a very pleasant ‘events assistant’ and shown to our table. The Coachhouse is a lovely airy, light space with tables well spaced and adorned with (very realistic) artificial geranium plants & artistically mismatched vintage crockery. Really liked the idea of individual staff to escort you to assigned tables. There was a veritable fleet of these friendly, smiling ‘Events Assistants’ who are attentive throughout service without being too intrusive. The afternoon tea itself was just lovely. I opted for the traditional, my husband the savoury tea. Both arrived promptly with a cake stand brimming with goodies & accompanied by a large pot of Lincolnshire blend tea. Where to start!! A good mix of sandwiches - egg, ham & coronation pheasant & locally made sausage roll plus numerous sweet treats for me & huge fruit scone. The savoury tea was equally impressive with a black pudding scotch egg, ham hock terrine and cheese scone with herb butter & chutney. Service was relaxed with occasional checks to see if we needed top ups of tea. There are options to add to your afternoon tea from an ‘extras’ menu but we certainly had more than ample. We took all our small cakes & sweet treats home as we were so full. A really enjoyable afternoon tea experience & highly recommended.

We ordered cake and coffee. I took my cake to the table which I will say wasn't clean so my partner requested someone clean it. I ate my cake while we waited and waited for the coffee to arrive. I appreciate they might have been busy but when 5 staff are just standing at the counter chatting away ignoring dirty tables and customers

The Afternoon Tea was a gift from our daughter and it didn't disappoint. The staff were very friendly, helpful and smartly dressed. The sandwiches were very tasty and the scones absolutely delicious. Plenty of cakes to finish and endless pots of tea. Although it was a gift, at £25 a head I thought it was good value. More than happy to recommend.

Really disappointing food the last few times I've visited I'm afraid to sat. Had the beef bagel on my last visit and it just wasn't good!! Bagel (which was plan and not poppy seed as advertised) wasn't toasted. The beef was OK but the amount of burger sauce they put on it made the whole thing inedible! It was absolutely swimming in burger sauce and didn't taste at all nice. Have been many times and it's gotten quite hit and miss of late.

I took my mum for a birthday lunch , she had fish and chips . She said it was the best fish and chips she had ever had , even the peas were so tasty . I had a vegan meal which too was wonderful . I visited as part of a project to find the best Afternoon Tea in Lincolnshire. Dry scone, nearly burnt Bakewell, seated next to a cold open door despite asking to move, brought the bill and card machine before asking for them and well before the end of the time slot. I’ll keep looking.

After a long year, i decided to treat myself and take a trip out to the Doddinton Cafe today, and it was definitely worth the wait. The food is delicious, with a wide variety available; obviously freshly made, achieving both looks and taste in each meal. The service is prompt and exact, with staff members showing their support and engagement with each table they serve, and always with a smile on their faces. The courtyard is well kept and clean, and the atmosphere of the surroundings are peaceful and relaxed. Overall i would definitely, and will be, recommending the cafe at doddington hall to those who are interested, and am very thankful for the wonderful experience i had today.
