Homestead in North Kesteven

We had a lovely family evening meal at the Homestead. Lynn was particularly accommodating to our needs and made us feel well looked after whilst we were there. Great service from Lynn, thank you.

We went to the Homestaed in Bracebridge Heath for a spot of lunch and a drink. The place had just advertised a new menu, so we thought we'd give it a try. Not impressed sums it up nicely. We ordered a great British cheese toastie, which came with a handful of chips & some chuckney & a salmon & mature cheese fishcake with a poached egg on the top. We also ordered a glass of Chardonnay and a bitter shandy. First of all the Chardonnay wasn't very nice & when my wife queried it, she was not offered an alternative. When the food came, the poached egg was like a boiled egg and the toastie came minus the blue cheese as they were out of it! Also, there was only one small sandwich whereas the Chef & Brewer web site clearly shows two. When the waitress asked if our food was OK, we said not really. Wee were not offered a reduction in the bill, which ended up ove £32. We won't be going bak there again in a hurry

Excellent service from our waitress Abi. The food was very goodi and generaous too. The whole was a great experience.

A great improvement, the last meal was a little bland, however on the visit despite a reduced menu we had two large lovely meals and were nicely looked after by Abi... Brilliant!

We were 7 altogether in the party. We had booked elsewhere but had been let down so turned up with no booking, 7pm ish on a Sunday evening. We were made to feel so welcome and looked after. Offered a 'limited' menu which seemed far from limited. Had a brilliant time, food good, service impeccable., cannot thank them enough. Abi looked after us so well, nothing was too much trouble. We'll be back!!

Great all round evening. Two course diner (Hake was great) for three of use, glass of wine. Friendly welcome and service. Will definitely be going again.

Great Sunday lunch. We had an excellent waitress called Lynn who looked after our table very well. It was a very hot day but Lynn worked tirelessly. Thank you Lynn.

We have had a few meals at the Homestead now. The food has been excellent. The latest time we were served by Abi and Venetia , the service was first class. Definitely recommend. The lamb shank shepherds pie was out of this world.

Had a great sunday lunch here. Great service and decent prices for what was offered. Only slight niggle is they had a couple of menu items that weren't available. Other than that, food and service was great.

Wonderful staff, but food let them down. Edible but obviously not top notch for the money paid. Beautiful building and ample parking.

Great food - my partner had a steak and my mushroom and ale pie was insane! Very tasty and we were left stuffed! Our server Lynn was also fantastic. The place is lovely, we visited on a quiet Monday evening, so we were one of the few people in there. We would highly recommend 🙂

Lovely place with a welcoming atmosphere, went for my dads birthday with my two boys. The staff were excellent especially our waiter James who was friendly and chatty and was brilliant with my youngest who was chatting away with him. Food was well priced and tasty, first time i have been back since refurb and would definitely return.

The food here is very good indeed, we had burgers and pork belly and there isn't much to say save for the fact that the food was delicious, the service from Lynn was first class and the bill was also very palatable. We tend to go every few weeks and have never been disappointed. A+++

I stopped by here for dinner on a Monday as I was in town on work related business. It was quite quiet as it was only 5pm. Lots felt comfortable seating, great menu options. I went for the signature burger and it was one of the nicest burgers I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommended! Very friendly and efficient service by Emma! Thank you. I hope to return in the future! FYI Google maps pins the location further down the road than it actually is. A little tricky if you’re new to the area.

We held the reception for our sons funeral here. We ordered from the buffet menu. We had no complaints at all. The venue was lovely and the food was really good. The staff worked hard to ensure that all of our needs were met. We were all fed and watered without any fuss. It made a very sad occasion into a welcoming and warm occasion. I would recommend the Homestead for future events and occasions should the need arise.

Enjoyed a lovely meal with friends. Lynn looked after us 😀

We were greeted and served by Emma who looked after us brilliantly. We both decided to have the Asparagus with poached egg and hollandaise sauce for starter and the pork loin for mains, both of which were off the chefs special menu. Both the starters and main meal were lovely and full of flavour, all plates were cleared. We did not have a desert as we were both suitably replete. Thanks Homestead team and especially Emma for your great food and service.

Not enough bar staff. Come on Greene King. Sort it out. The staff are run off their feet every day. Great place. Let down by not enough staff!

Another great experience, food and service really good.

Perfect, very delicious food. Very good service although we had to wait 15 mins for our drinks. Our starters came out before our drinks arrived. Nice decor and pleasant interior of the pub. Unfortunate that where we were seated we were adjacent to a table where a woman never stopped talking in a really loud penetrating voice. Just the bad luck of the draw but she did rather spoil our overall experience.

Yes they let us in at the last minute but the only thing on my Sunday dinner was nice was the turkey and Yorkshire pudding the veg looked like the bits that u put in the bin and the chicken on the duo left something to be desired and not sure wat the lettuce was or the ribbon veg and the barbecue sauce was very undesirable the sirloin beef was like rubber and the roast potatoes had chips hidden in them so thanks but no thanks waste of money

Always have a lovely meal, never disappointed quality, quantity and service is always spot on. Lynn made sure we were well looked after. We will be back.. definitely would recommend 👌

Nice decor and very clean, but hardly anyone there on a Friday night so atmosphere not great. Main courses average, but desserts scrumptious, and drinks were lovely, especially the cocktails. 2 drinks, main course and pudding approx £35pp.

Unfortunately, my experience at Homestead Pub was disappointing. Despite arriving at 10 am with seven friends on a Sunday, we were left waiting for quite some time before being approached by a lady who informed us that without a reservation, we couldn't have a table, even though the pub was fairly empty. When we asked if we could at least have a drink, she denied our request, citing that she was the only one there. She did try and direct us to another pub. But i found the entire encounter strange and it left us feeling unwelcome. It's a shame because we were eager to try the food and drinks at Homestead Pub but were unable to do so.

A really lovely lunch, as always, thank you. We frequently visit this pub due to the family friendly, relaxed atmosphere and the extensive children's menu. We had Jamie this afternoon, he was the perfect level of attentive, lovely with the children and helped make our visit wonderful - thank you Jamie. I know you said you were new to the position, but you really wouldn't have known. Looking forward to returning soon.

Superb meal again. Despite a busy Saturday, food was hot and we weren’t left waiting! It was our server Jamie’s first day and he was fantastic and really good with our little one.

It's been a little while since we last visited but it's been a pleasure to have a meal here once again. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that there is now a specifically printed gluten free menu unlike our last visit which far more convenient than browsing through the clunky allergy tablet for information. The service was top notch from all the staff we spoke to especially Lynn who served us most of the evening who was a pleasure to talk to. As always the food whilst slightly on the more expensive side was absolutely delicious, well presented and served quickly. If I had any criticism it's that the main menus do not list drink prices for most drinks but thankfully the prices were pretty close to our estimates so there were no unpleasant surprises.

Large clean and warm pub with nice staff, but the food was very average, not a match on yesterday's C&B in Northampton! Over cooked crunchy chips, under cooked apple tart and a Bakewell tart that was cold in the middle!!

Hadnt been for a few years as last time I felt it overpriced for what it was. But pleasantly surprised, their lunchtime light bites were good, I had a fishfingers ciabata with chips and salad and it was great.

We walked in at 5pm and were asked if we had booked a table. The place was empty. We said had not booked and could we have a table for 2 and we're told quite rudely that they were not accepting walk ins. We went out to the car and managed to book a table at 5.30pm for that day so why would they not accept a walk in?

Food was mediocre. Quality not good. Staff were lovely.

A great clean and friendly pub with a calm atmosphere. Had a two course evening meal, the food and service were both excellent.

My partner and I went out for the valentines for their three course deal for 26 pounds. It was very good value for money the food was lovely as it always is. The service was brilliant we had Lynne looking after us and had a lovely evening in a nice atmosphere. Would recommend!

The main courses we had was bigger than we thought and the puddings was lovely the drinks was resenable price great night out would recommend the place for a great relaxing night

Our group of ladies received a really warm, friendly welcome from Lynn, who looked after us brilliantly all evening. She took our various orders efficiently and with good humour. Our meals were tasty; various members of staff checked that we were happy with everything and Lynn ensured that even the picky person (me!) rounded off the evening enjoying a perfect coffee. We had a super evening at the Homestead. Lynn & Emma served us promptly with drinks and the food was excellent. We also had coffee afterwards as we couldn’t manage a dessert!

Beautiful building. We frequent Chef & Brewer to make use of Tesco Clubcard vouchers. We usually find the standard of food to be similar across the brand (standard menu), but this is one of the best deliveries. Friendly and efficient staff. Outstanding toilets. Ordered bacon & cheese burgers, no-leaf salad, steak n ale pie and smothered chicken with diet cokes and a pint of Old Speckled hen. One coffee with mini cheesecake brought total bill to £93. Thank you Lynn & Emma.

Lovely food very gorgeous place

Me and my partner came here for our valentines dinner. We ate from the main menu as we didn’t fancy having 3 courses! We had high expectations from reading the reviews and from seeing the beautiful building and the elegant cosy feel of the interior. Drinks service was a little slow as they were low on staff however our food came out quicker than we expected. Presentation was lovely but once we dug in we were met with disappointment. My partner had the 8oz steak, rare and when it came out the sides were not seared especially considering half of the steak was just fat! Both sides of the steak were pale, would have probably gotten a better steak at Wetherspoons! I had the chicken and ham pie with mash and the veg felt undercooked as did the pastry for the pie. The mash was also quite hard and I was given little gravy to what you would expect with a pie. Despite the disappointment with the food, the customer service was amazing!! 🤩 We were served by Lynn and she was incredible! So polite and very kind to us! Cracked a few jokes too which we greatly appreciated! Thank you Lynn our saving grace 🙏 The man behind the bar was also quite a lovely gentleman.

We pop in here for food and it's lovely. we chose here for my dads wake for access from lincoln crem, parking etc cannot express my thanks enough to Amy and the team for providing the perfect wake. Buffet, set up everything was amazing. Will not forget the level of provision delivered fo me and my family . Dad loved the fish and chips when he went once .

We visit regularly and this week I chose to hold my dads wake here for around 40 people. Can't thank the team enough and Amy has been great. A smooth organisation element, buffet was perfectly and plenty for family to even take home with them. Great for many occasions and recommended Ideal location from Lincoln crem , plenty parking too

On a Friday night I took my daughter and husband out for a meal at this wonderful restaurant. Superb food and service. Really good value for money.

I always enjoy meeting up at Homestead. There's always a warm welcome and attentive service. There is a wide choice on the menu and the coffee is excellent. The building is clean, tastefully decorated, spacious and comfortable, and the toilet facilities are superb. With the huge car park and easy access, it's definitely worth a visit for people who are on their own, or with friends, family, or in larger groups.

Venetia served us, she was very friendly and efficient. The food was great as usual. Lovely place and lovely staff. Thank you.

Me and my girlfriend attended tonight for a meal to celebrate burns night, the food was outstanding, my partner even stated it was the best meal she has ever eaten 👀 Bold statement......we will be back for sure 👌

Burns Night Supper with my wife. Good menu choice of tasty Burns specials. Friendly prompt service front Emma and Venetia. We arrived at 6pm and by the time we left the restaurant it was less than 1/3 occupied. Shame, the evening deserved more custom. MaybeThursday is not a big evening.

Emma and Venetia couldn't have been more welcoming. They always go over and above to make sure we enjoy our visits. Always nice to receive a lovely smile and a cheery voice. We'll be back soon.

My husband and I went for a meal at The Homestead. Cannot fault it. Food was amazing, Darcel who looked after us could not have done any more she was amazing. Cannot wait to go back.

We have been today for Christmas Dinner. Couldn’t fault anything. Lovely setting. Friendly and welcoming staff. Beautiful entrance to the restaurant, where the staff were happy to take family photos, next to the Christmas tree. Table beautifully set, complete with quality crackers and place name...

Breakfast with Santa 23 rd December Food was lovely although £12 for one slice of toast and egg for a 2 year old is rather expensive when the gift is a cheap book. Santa I think was a little out of his depth no interest in the children no confidence to speak with them for £12 a child I expected a Santa who could at least ask what the kids wanted etc . For the three kids £36 is a lot of money for three books and 3 slices of toast and egg . Waitress was lovely and good with the kids .

Lovely meals and drinks were served in a beautiful setting. What makes the Homestead such a pleasant place to visit though is the friendly and hard-working staff.

No atmosphere, don't really know how the place stays open. Haven't had food since it changed hands so can't comment on that.

The food was lovely, my wife and I were celebrating, we had impeciable service from darcel, so lovely we gave a tip and a drink behind the bar when she finished if she would so want one, she helped my wife with deciding her meal....

Went for ' breakfast with santa ' santa was horrific! Lacking in confidence when talking to children. Presents held in his hand! And no santa sack( presents were all the same book BTW) he had no interactive skills. Breakfast nice but slow service. Arts and crafts available which was nice. But just lacked the who Christmas experience.

We both had a Sunday dinner. It was the worst Sunday dinner we have ever had. The beef was very thickly cut and fatty . The worst thing was the vegetables, i think they had just cooked them in the microwave in the morning and had them sat on keep warm all day. They were dried out and rubbery. The parsnip would have bounced off the floor. Disgusting don't touch with a barge pole.

Lovely decor and easy parking, but the food poor, not much of it and the burger was very fatty, awful chips. Rude waitress, when my husband said there are two burgers to come out she replied I only have one pair of hands! The rest...

tried booking for a party of 12 but apparently they only take up to 10 people on a booking. Seems a strange way to do business! also incredibly difficult to actually speak to a person. If their website made their policy clear when I tried to book online then I could have saved myself 10 minutes of messing around with their useless AI phone system.

Went out for a family meal on a Sunday lunchtime. The food is pretty decent and a variety of options are available from the menu. I had slow roasted rib of beef which was delicious and fell off the bone. The staff were friendly and helpful and answered any questions we had. I would have preferred the roast potatoes to have been made in house rather than frozen, but they were tasty enough, that would have nudged up the rating, but it is a minor detail.

Overly pretentious food. Empty most of the time.

We pre booked a table for 6, early on a Friday evening, Despite it being quiet, it took over half an hour for anyone to come and take our order, and well over an hour before we got our meals. That said, the food itself was lovely. Afterwards, I had to go and find someone to order desserts, and eventually went to pay at the bar because there were no staff around to ask for our bill.

Our first visit to this venue, and we weren’t disappointed. The staff were excellent, very attentive, very polite. An asset to the business. The food was also excellent. A lovely atmosphere and very clean everywhere. We will certainly be back.

The venue and decor wonderful. The staff were lovely. The food was truly awful. Trio of roasts - pork undercooked and fat gluttonous almost raw, beef full of gristle and Turkey wafer thin and tasteless. Vegetables watery, roast potatoes soggy. Wife’s burger pate was burnt!...
