The best restaurants in Castle Newark and Sherwood East Midlands

I popped in the Happy Sundaes on Thursday after seeing a advert in the Free Newark Magazine. I had a Crepe with Lemon and Sugar and a cup of tea. The Crepe was delicious and red hot. Soaked in Lemon and Sugar. I will definitely be back . A.C

Superb food beautifully served in a great atmosphere. Excellent service from very helpful staff. The entertainment was a pleasant background to an enjoyable evening.

On our way to Lincoln but got stranded due to floods and blocked roads. Saw the White Swan Inn So popped in and asked could we possibly stay the night on the carpark in our motorhome. No hesitation,we were welcomed and given perfect directions on how to avoid floods in the morning. We ate a very large delicious piping hot Roast meal with a big jug of gravy. Washed down with great beers. Lovely atmosphere,very reasonable price for the food and drinks. Back to the motorhome with our new directions to Lincoln. Slept like logs. Will definitely call back and really recommend The White Swan for great food and great hosts.

Early supper. Chicken pakoras were especially good as was the onion bhajis. Companion ordered chips & I was surprised they went well with curry! Definitely visit again.

Raja Keeyam set feast menu. Simply the best curry I've ever eaten in my life. The range of ingredients cooked to perfection!

Amazing customer service, lovely food and extremely timely. Especially loved the chicken poppers and BBQ sauce. You can really taste the difference in the dough preparation with the pizzas. Cant wait to order again !! :D

Never tried the food but I believe the reviews suggest it's decent. This isn't a regular stop for us but it's a nice change of pace. Usually quieter in the winter with good weather bringing out lots of people to their outside tables. Good friendly staff and being g a barge makes it a bit more unusual.

After 20 minutes walking around to try and find somewhere open late in the evening I came across the Ram The food was really great. Nice and simple menu of what you’d expect from a local pub but high quality ingredients and exceptionally well made Above everything, the service was fantastic, both staff where warm and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and couldn’t fault any part of the meal Thank you for making me feel welcome

Serves a wide choice of English, European and Greek cuisine with vegetarian, vegan and other dietary requirements catered for. Great food and delicious organic coffee along with very tempting desserts. Newark is lucky to have a place like this.

I haven't been in this shop for 15 plus years and what a great surprise it was , greeted with a smile 😊 staff very polite and professional, the place is spotlessly clean and to cap things off the food was outstanding 👌🏻, Highly recommended. Many thanks 10/10

Not surprised that a disabled person had a hard time in this pub, it's cheap very cheap but not friendly or pleasant in anyway, just a pub to walk passed, I will next time, I suppose if your only attraction is price you get s certain type of clientele

I really enjoyed the service and the food was top noch same it has closed it should reopen so I can eat there every day
