Once I had made my way through the smokers and the smoke filled porch I found there was no real ales on at all. Not a nice welcome to any pub.

Been going to this pub since I was a young girl it's great atmosphere great music lovely staff

Too many kids in shouting but a apart from that ok

Friendly place, my kind of watering hole.

Was in on a Sunday afternoon in December. Place only had about 5 people in that included 2 of us. No Christmas music on at all. We stayed longer than we would have only because we bought a bottle of wine.

Mad this place, late nigher if you want it with friendly people, no food but we had a good night.

£2.50 a pint Sunday to Thursday what more do you want 👍🏽

Nice old style boozer inside,beer can be a little deer cider ok at £2.50.

Great value beer, great since weatherspoons has shut, great music, DJ was on later so missed the set.

A good, upbeat and enjoyable pub. This is the pub I go to when I want to listen to music and get a bit merry. A good pub for a night out and the staff are nice and dog friendly too! Not a great selection of ales but what is there is a brilliant price, clean and loos are well maintained.

Excellent singer that got everyone on the dance floor.

Live across road random cars use parking bay then moan they can't park outside in the parking bay used for loading and unloading vehicles but randomers use it as a parking space then moan at the people doing there job because there not specially parked in an unloading bay

The establishment is interesting, with its own cozy atmosphere) there is a dance area, a good selection of drinks at reasonable prices. It would have been 5 stars if not for the incident with my jacket. Be careful with your belongings when visiting this establishment!! If I'm passing through, I'll definitely come see you again)

Decent boozer. Cheap pints compared to other pubs around town. Still has a pool table that's becoming a rarity these days. Pub how a pub should be.

Great pub, live music, bar games, good drinks prices, shot deals.

No real ale and every wall has a sky TV not what I expected or wanted. But as said elsewhere staff are lovely. Pity though.

It’s what I’d call a proper boozer, friendly staff and the locals don’t bite 😀. The choice of beers etc is good.

Sadly, it was closed when we visited at 2215, despite the fact that the "recently-updated by the business" hours on Google Maps said it was open until 2330. I say closed... we could see people drinking at the bar, but the doors were all locked shut. 😥

They don't do food but a pint of John Smiths is £1.90.

Had a meal here and things went wrong. I won’t dwell on that as despite this the management acknowledged the issues and immediately went into action to rectify things. Sometimes we all have bad Days, but if handled well that can make Up for a disappointment. I can tell the friendly and Bubbly team were committed to the best. They Made things good, and I won’t knock them down on customer service. It’s all about how you deal with things. I’m going to visit again soon and fully expect it will be the perfect visit. You can tell there is passion in the team here. It’s Just a bit hard at the moment with Covid still disrupting staffing and logistics.

Usually enjoy my time at this pub but recently did not have a great experience. The management team was quick to apologise and investigate the issue however.

We stumbled upon this delightful place when looking for somewhere to have lunch. I have to say it is a really great pub! The decor and feel of the place is lovely. It’s spotlessly clean. The staff are friendly, welcoming and attentive and the food and beer was spot on, especially the pies and homemade chips! Highly recommended and we’ll definitely call in again next time we’re in town.

Since taking over Ellie has made a point of making this pub as friendly, welcoming and traditional as she possibly can. This is now a real pub and a far cry from what it once was. Highly recommend to everyone.

It's been nicely done up but apparently it's so quiet that it's up for let/sale again- shame, probably due to greedy brewery?!

Went to watch rugby, plenty of tv's, plenty of room. Everywhere clean and tidy, well kept beer. Free chip and sausage basket at half time. Will go again.

Great pub. Came here to watch Liverpool vs Wolves. Loads of screens. Very clean and modern inside and friendly staff!

Nice decor ,helpful staff, possibly too many TV screens, could have a tv free zone? , feels a bit cold, should light the fire to give it a warm feel and appeal, possibly too many A boards outside and menu needs culling, but if you have not been in, well worth a try.

Superb Sunday dinner - delicious meal with all the trimmings, good prices and friendly staff. Would recommend!

It's gone very expensive since it was reopened and needs a good painting inside which I thought would have been done before it reopened

Great pub. Friendly landlord, landlady & staff. Excellent Sunday carvery ( highly recommended).

A good little boozer. Land lord very friendly, big Grimsby fan. A cool African grey parrot. That makes some funny sounds and comments. Worth a visit. Edit. The pool table is straight and flat! There's a darts team and I'm guessing pool. Probably one of the best boozers in Newark!

Stopped off in Newark on our way home to Hull, Made to feel very welcome met George the Dog and the Parrot, first ever pub I have been in where you can also get a tattoo done 😁
