Bought a salad box from here a few weeks ago, the gentleman in the shop was absolutely lovely and this was one of the best salads I have ever had. Will be back!

Lots if people passing this newsagent will not notice that it is also a cafe. We have been using it for several years and have to say that they serve the best coffee in Matlock and it is so reasonable. The cafe area is at the rear and has a bay window overlooking the River Derwent. They serve delicious home-made cakes, scones and toasted teacakes and a choice of coffees and teas - my own favourite being a Cafe Latte (large). So you can buy your paper or magazine and sit with your coffee and cake enjoying views over the Bridge and the River Derwent!

Lovely local pub. Drinks only does not do food. Absolutely great selection of beers and ales. Good wines as well. Games and newspapers available. Kids welcome No outside space or smoking area, have to stand outside if that's your thing Just love this place.

Fantastic venue, Andy and Kirsty were fabulous hosts for my 60th party. They were so accommodating and helpful. The hot food buffet was excellent, very tasty and well presented. We had lots of very positive feedback from our guests. Everything we asked for was delivered hassle free. It was all just perfect. I would definitely recommend using this venue for any celebration in the future! Thank you so much for making my birthday so special!

We had a very good meal off the “Happy Hour” menu. This offers great value but you need to ask for it (see website for details). The service was excellent, although at the time of writing the restaurant is BYO while they sort out their licence but there is a convenience store selling alcohol two doors away. On a Sunday evening it was empty but it is busy on Fridays and Saturdays.

Popped in for a lunchtime drink, in this very lively and friendly bar. Well worth a try.
