Bought a salad box from here a few weeks ago, the gentleman in the shop was absolutely lovely and this was one of the best salads I have ever had. Will be back!

I recently had my baby shower at the Cool River Cafe, and I can’t stop raving about the experience! The setting was absolutely charming, with lovely cozy atmosphere that made everyone feel at ease. We enjoyed afternoon tea that was perfectly curated, featuring a delicious selection of finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones with clotted cream, and a variety of delicate pastries. The service was top-notch - attentive and friendly! It was the perfect relaxed spot for my special occasion. I would highly recommend the Cool river café for anyone looking for a wonderful venue to host a special occasion!

Perfect spot for party with friends! The cocktail making was brilliant and unique and the food was brilliant. We had plenty of space and time to enjoy ourselves and the venue is well decorated and inviting. The accommodation was really welcoming and the fun bunkbeds were brilliant! It was clean and had excellent extra touches and the showers were great. Thanks again Andy and Kirsty!

First time visiting this hidden gem Been recommended by friends Our first anniversary wanted somewhere special Was not disappointed,a warm friendly welcome, beautiful decor, and a menu to suit someone seeking a gastronomic experience ,could not pick fault with anything, the appetisers in between courses were an unexpected surprise equally as impressive as the main event There was no rush to get our food to the table ,didn’t feel pressured to vacate our table ,all in all a wonderful experience will certainly be visiting again as many times as possible.

Looking for a quick and filling lunch before the football on Saturday we saw this on the High Street. The prices advertised were reasonable and from what we could see from the food being eaten, the portions were generous and freshly cooked. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get a table at first but given the nature of the food being served, there did seem to be a quick turnaround and tables became free fairly quickly. My son and I had the small fish specials which (pictured) were freshly cooked and quickly served. You will also see from the picture that the portions are extremely generous, so I’m not sure what some other reviewers on here consider to be the issue. Including a drink each, the total bill was just over £16 which I think is more than reasonable in today’s financial climate. The next time we are in town for a visit or to watch the football, we will certainly head straight back. Staff seem friendly and efficient and the restaurant was clean and tidy given the amount of people coming in and out during the day.
