The best restaurants in Daventry East Midlands

This venue is perfect for many occasions, but I met with Karli to discuss a booking for my mums funeral gathering. Karli and the other staff I met were all lovely. They could not have been more polite, helpful and genuinely accommodating. The room was partitioned to accommodate our smaller gathering but had the bar. It was completely private. They set it up perfectly and just as I had asked. We chose the hot food option as many of our family had travelled in on the day and it was superb homemade food. I had 4 vegetarians, 2 gluten free and 1 lactose intolerant and all their needs were met .Excellent value and good portions too. With tea and mini homemade cakes to follow it allowed us all to enjoy chatting and reminiscing about our mum with family & friends. Everyone who attended complemented the food, so thank you Lisa, head chef. I cannot rate this venue more highly or its staff, thank you all for making a difficult occasion go smoothly. Canton House is one of Daventry’s best takeaways. The staff are very friendly and always make sure your meal is lovely. A few days ago, I ordered a beef chow mein as fresh as possible and it was the best chow mein I’ve had in 20 years. We’ve been living in Daventry for 7 years and Canton House is quality.

The person who served us were rude and fierce. My family and children got scared from this place . Food were average . We staff were shouting at each other backstage. It was a really noisy and discomfort experience.

Excellent food, very quickly prepared and not expensive. Cash only. Complimentary prawn crackers with orders over a certain amount...😋

Wouldn’t go again .. first and last time today . Very disappointing food .. very very basic .. small portions , presentation poor .. I could produce better meals and I’m no chef . Dirty crockery piled high in sink , grubby kitchen . Children weren’t even offered a glass with their cans of drink . Not even a straw Observed lady in charge was microwave heating a pouch of rice then used fingers to decant ( no gloves in sight ) . Young employee also putting hands into a container of grated cheese straight after using till without washing hands or wearing gloves .. very disappointing

Afternoon tea celebration. Would highly recommend - food was absolutely best afternoon tea we have ever had. Lovely presentation - tasty - served by friendly staff. Will be paying another visit for definite.

I thought I would try this pub one more time seeing as it's the only one in the village yet again the nasty individual thatworks/runs this sespit was at it again. This time it was a lone man. Absolute disgusting behaviour. Why is the brewery employing someone who knows nothing about hospitality or village live. Time to boycott till the brewery steps in.

A visit during an open day of Holdenby House when the tearoom was very busy. The sign said we don’t serve cakes we serve slabs - and the portions were substantial but sensibly priced. Wide ranging choice and good coffee. Indoor and outdoor tables

Incredibly rude elderly landlord, will not support this pub again. Have been with friends for drinks previously but also found bar staff quite bizarre when we were sat outside .. they were ssshing each table?

All ways friendly. Allways on time and allways get what you asked for. Well done. Great choice of food and well cooked. Five out of five from me.

Great food a while back. Been trying to ring but apparantly done a runner with a terrible hygiene score and owing thousands.. Shame its the only one we liked.

One happy meal took 55 minutes to arrive and was cold and had items missing when arrived. Really poor!

A lovely friendly pub with very helpful staff. Gluten free menu with plenty of choice. Reasonably priced food, perfect for a relaxed family meal. Children's play area outside.

Good range of food available, staff are friendly and the place has a nice vibe. Service is prompt and there is a good range of beers available. Have eaten here a few times and they can comfortably deal with large group bookings.
