Food was undercooked and the cutlery was dirty. Staff were stood in the kitchen with the door open smoking facing in to the kitchen

First time for me although my Son has eaten here before. It’s a huge place, again toilets are up stairs which isn’t great for the less mobile. We had meals ranging from Burgers, chicken, pizza, full English and vegetarian full English. We ordered this all on the app, drinks came out in good time, but food seemed to take ages. I meal didn’t get their chips but as by then we were running late we didn’t question it or ask for refund. All food was fine and hot enough. Staff seemed under pressure but pleasant, it a big area to cover. If I had time to spare I would pop in if I visited the area again

After returning from a funeral of a family member people just wanted a meal so the easy thing to do was go to the pub. Big mistake. 9 meals ordered for 3 different groups. All the food was just warm when it arrived despite all of the eggs on the 2 10oz gammons being so over cooked they were solid and the gammon was also cool but over cooked to the point it shattered when cut. The fish and chips was just warm and really oily The hunter chicken arrived with most of the accompanying food missing so went back but we were almost finished when it was returned. The story of the other cool meals was the same but we just wanted something and couldn’t be bothered to make a fuss after the day we had all been through. Just assuming they have one of the worst ding technicians on duty that day. The bar staff were good but we all felt they were embarrassed at having to serve such poor quality food Only giving a score of 2 because the staff were ok Go for a drink but get a kebab on the way home

Hi I came to the pub today I was not very impressed with the food that we had today 28th January Sunday the pizza was like a crumbs and not eatable so it was not worth the money and no Sunday roast why

I visit this bar about 4 times a year while in the area with work, I was there last night 25th July & I can say the staff 2 girls with black hair & ponytails were amazing, rushed off their feet in a very busy bar, really seemed like they were the only staff on, but they remained friendly and calm all evening, they are a credit to the business... On the pub itself, I always find it clean, food is always well prepared, & it does what a Spoons should do & does it very well...

Returned to this homely pub great deals on offer in the Wetherspoons sale. Young Lady in charge was friendly we had a great meal and drink will return definitely.

I’ve just been in here for the first time 21/02/2022 at 7.40pm on sat down to start an order on the app and some bar maid came up to me telling me to “get the F out” apparently I was in here Friday dancing in the bar and called her a dike. I’m from Leeds and came here today on business. . . She continued to say get out get out etc, I explained I’m from Leeds and she then commented on how s}^t my tattoos were, people were looking in disgust at her. She was about 25, black and white short hair, black and white checkered top and was emo with piercings. I left immediately as this was disgusting, she was so unprofessional and swore in front of other customers . . . She needs sacking . . . Formal complaint has been made to management and Wetherspoons head office !!! Disgusting women

We visited the Saracens head in Daventry today for a few drinks,the place has been smartened up since we last visited.The decor and general ambiance is certainly an improvement. The only problem I had were with the staff, the two visits to the bar I was met with melancholy couldn't care less attitude especially the pink /black haired big girl. This sort of attitude puts me off but I will give this place another try.

Regular visitor here, a nice pub for a meal. Several rooms throughout the venue including a mezzanine floor. It’s a nice historic old building. It’s a Wetherspoons so it is what it is… fancy some modestly priced pub grub and drinks it’s just the job.

I ordered 3 pints of cherry Pepsi and 1 pint of normal Pepsi, this was bought to the table by a lady with orange hair and a skull and cross bones mask, she didn’t have a clue which Pepsi was which so I asked and she told me I’d have to smell them to find out… I didn’t realise this was a wine tasting experience with Pepsi where I have to swill it around and smell it to find out what it is. Shortly after this our food was bought over by a different waitress who quite literally threw our knives and forks at us and said two words “pizza” then “enjoy” she clearly hates her job and doesn’t want to be here as my god we were served with a face of thunder. During the duration of our stay there was a table of women who looked like something from loose women, they were extremely loud and like a group of football hooligans, granted this is expected and not the end of the world however they began to take the piss out of a poor girl sat on her own. When all of these heffers were in no place to take the piss out of anyone looking like Marjorie doors and fat fighters at the pub. All in all a poor experience, granted spoons is the Jeremy Kyle equivalent of a pub however sometimes something needs to be said for such horrendous service.

Comfortable, spacious, historic, interesting. One of the better Wetherspoons. No problems. Good food. Good beer. Good value. Be very happy to have breakfast here again.

I went to the bar and I saw bar staff taking about a customer which was quiet all night , personal id call that bullying , I think this pub is overall a disgrace and anyone running it wants to sort it out before it gets run out of business

Bank holiday Sunday...no whiskey, no cocktails. My friend order cheesy chips....where is the cheese we said? More we would like...£1.50 for a sprinkle of cheese. This. Is. Outrageous.

Having read the previous comments I might easily have been put off but as I was in Daventry anyway today I gave it a try and I was I was satisfied. OK many of the meals on the menu were not available but to as they were not long out of Lockdown it is probably going to take them a while to get up to full steam. We were served by a waitress called Megan. She was very pleasant and efficient. As all of the customers were obviously spread out at tables in the garden we were amazed with the amount of walking she had to do backwards and forwards. She still managed to be professional about it in looking after the customers. Another lady came out to when the wind blew over one of the sunshades and she was quite pleasant to. I think they are trying hard at that Wetherspoons.

Cold food, needs a major refurb and not just the building. Staff need replacing including manager to get this back to being a decent Wetherspoon pub. Tables take ages to be cleaned or cleared. Items missing from meal clubs because they run out but not advised when you order.

Wow first visit back and still probably the worst Wetherspoon pub in the country. Food was awful, the curry was microwaved to death with the chicken hard as rock and rice clumpy. No mango chutney as they can’t give it during covid. Tables were not cleaned. Won’t be back ever again

Had lunch today with the current wife. Her 9oz gammon meal was nice but I did not enjoy my steak and kidney pie and mash. The mash was dry and the so was the pie. It looked like it had been cooked a few hours before (maybe even yesterday!)

Ordered a tuna and cheese panini and it arrived with very dry tuna and no cheese and cold chips. Worst lunch I've ever had.

Been going in there for year's and as a thanks I've been issued with a parking ticket I'll never use Witherspoon's again. They don't appreciate their customers 😒

How this place continues to stay open amazes me Cold inhospitable poor service no coffee machines working for the second week in the run The place lacks care Food service so poor I returned and asked for a refund If you work here or for Weatherspoons look at you feed back and turn this place around before it’s too late

I came in for a pre xmas drink and was not disappointed. A VARIED selction of real ales and it was very busy. Very friendly staff and the atmosphere was good. Will come again

Went with 10 family members for a meal, when we got there they had forgotten our table booking. It took a life time for food, all was cremated even a plant burger! Service was given by the miserablest person there, who got annoyed when no one could hear her speaking as quiet as she could, and to top it all, I got a parking charge notice for staying just under 3hrs in the car park. Safe to sat we won't be going there again.

The place really has gone down hill.... 3 mangers in less than 7 months.... surely worst performing pub in the company. Hit and miss when it comes to the staff, some are amazing... others are rude or not interested in serving. All the good staff from earlier visits have gone or leaving shortly. Some of the so-called team leaders/ shift managers need re-training or sacking. Wetherspoons must really struggle to hire/ keep decent staff.

Sadly I am at the stage where I am no longer gonna visit here. I've been 3 times in the last month. First time, my chips were rock hard and underdone. Second time, the service was slow and our meals were mixed up. And this morning I came for my breakfast. This was the worst visit of them all. Sausage was stone cold. Bacon was stone cold. Hash browns were so overdone they were brittle and broke apart when my friend and I cut into them. Baked beans were barely lukewarm. Spoons used to be a fantastic place to eat but with the prices going up (still reasonable though), I'd at least expect the quality to stay the same or improve. Not worsen.

Went there for my grandsons birthday, 14 people of varying ages.Ordered 10oz rump and surf.The steak came out first of 14 meals the surf came out at 15th position, the steak and chips were stone cold.If I had have complained would have ruined the evening.Will not go there or recommend based on that.

Awful worst in group not fit to be a Weatherspoons! Car park blocked by a delivery vehicle, freezing cold inside pub. Selling breakfasts but due to "failed deliveries" actually have no breakfasts available.

As a regular drinker in this pub we use as a meeting place the staff although pleasant Are inexperienced, they prefer to stack shelves rather than serve customers, and have no one working who are able to change barrels plus, this pub regularly runs totally out of beer, had the food once over cooked greasy and cold when served never again

Came out for our mum's birthday and was disaappponted with the food. Steak over cooked when asked for medium, gammon not of a good colour and same with the ham. My sister found a hair in her chicken burger. Staff dimpsy and didn't really seem bothered by issues. Won't be coming back again!

First visit here after moving to Daventry in September. Normal weather spoons , big , great choice of drinks. Use the app to order food and drink, great service , staff friendly and the place was clean and tidy. Will be back. Chicken burger with blue cheese was fab

Went there yesterday early evening (3 adults, 2 children). Disappointment started straight away as there was no pizza available. 4 Pepsis ordered and when they came they were clearly watered heavily and tasteless. Had them replaced. 4 out of 10 cutlery items were dirty and had to be replaced. Only 3 napkins for 5 people. 3 sets of children's cutlery and 2 of adult size - wrong way round. Food was standard average Wetherspoons food - nothing to get terribly excited about but OK.

We intended eating at the Rugby Weather spoons, but on arrival found it to be closed - no reason given. We then drove to Daventry Saracens Head. As we were visiting the UK we thought we would try a British favourite - Fish and Chips. After waiting for the three Bar Staff to finish their mock fight behind the Bar, I gave the order only to be told “no Fish” - no apology, and the Staff continued larking about. Our impression was that the Staff were not interested, and the place needed a good clean. We left.

Been on several occasions. Food is excellent, nice atmosphere. Bar service can be a bit slow, but friendly and polite. Nice courtyard for sunny evenings

Love to go to Spoonies on a Thursday as its Curry night i do not like hot curries so have the Korma and it is lovely you also get naam bread, popadoms and a drink i think it is very good value for money.. The other nights are good as well but Curry nights are my fav......

Went yesterday for a meal with a relation in a wheelchair. Very disappointed that we could only get in the bar. The tables in the bar were too high. We had to go through the smoking area and up a step which meant he had to get out of the wheelchair while his wife took it up the step and put it so he could fall back into it. Had to do the same when we came out. Perhaps a good idea to have at least one slope to get a wheelchair into the place. If we had realised it would be such a problem we would have gone go the Queen of Hearts as it would have been easier to get into.

We have never visited this part of the country before, and looking for somewhere to have lunch in Daventry after our business meeting we decided to try Wetherspoons.The traditional pub is a bit tired and could do with a bit of a refurb. The staff very helpful and considerate. The service quick and the food good reasonably priced as was the drinks.For lunch at a reasonable price I would certainly recommend this pub.

Walked into this Wetherspoon pub/restaurant on June 5th .We were surprised to see two members of staff from Wetherspoon Northampton. One was an old friend Katherine she is always friendly and interesting .She served our drinks quickly,later when we ordered a meal every thing was correct and excellent. Will definitely return.

Came here with a group of friends from work. The food looked good and like all Weatherspoon’s, good value. Must have been around 25 of us and we had a really Good Friday night.

I popped for a real ale pint after my walk. Busy and the staff was friendly. I will come in for breakfast soon

We were in town on our way to Northampton for the footy and in need of a few pre match liveners. Having been to Northampton before and had traffic problems getting out of the place, we chose instead to try this spoons instead as being west of the ground, we figured it would be a simpler drive in. Not to mention being another JDW to tick off the list. And so it proved.We had steak on the managers special - cooked as requested (and good value as a result) and our own favourite tipples were available (another issue with Northamptons Spoons) at a fair price and in good condition. What I liked was the bar lady (Laura? maybe) who'd memorised our round on the second time at the counter. Can you come and work at our spoons please!Strange thing was the ebb and flow of the punters on this particular Saturday afternoon - one minute it was packed to the rafters then nearly empty a few minutes later. Certainly less so for one boozy punter who was shown the door at one o'clock in the afternoon - well done that man, that was certainly an achievement by anyone's standards.Its a typical spoons then in summary, toilets up a floor and a mix of seating areas and levels around a courtyard. Couldn't fault it. So if we're away again next season and happen to be down this neck of the woods, we'd certainly come back here again.

We have visited this restuarant on many occasions but recently it seems to be falling short of what we expect from a wetherspoons. Filthy chair seats, food on the carpet throughout, grubby tables that are not cleared quickly enough and some of the staff hardly able to raise a smile. Even the walls need a good clean. The food was average.

A typical Wetherspoons experience, i.e. good cheap food and good cheap drinks, enhanced by ordering and paying via their app. Our coffee mugs we're delivered almost before I'd put the phone down! The peas with my cottage pie could have been hotter, as could my coffee, but my wife had no complaints about her steak and kidney pie. Not much more than a tenner for the lot!

Visited here with my boyfriend. Really lovely old building with lots of little areas to sit in plus lovely garden. Deceptively big inside.

Went for a meal with my family. Food was brilliant and great service on the bar from Tom and Jack; always feel welcome.

Really gone down hill. Low quality ingredients used for breakfast and a chef/cook that cannot fry an egg. Yes it's cheap, but will be looking elsewhere for a tasty breakfast I'm afraid.

We visit here virtually every week. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is brilliant for the price. Hari served us today and was so helpful and chatty. Really lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon 😊

This is a very nice place. It is clean and tidy, food and servicd was good although the food was not very hot. However, the whole visit was spoiled by three men immediately outside the entrance doors smoking! I didn't think smokers were supposed to smoke anywhere on the premises but obviously this is not the case! Being asthmatic and currently suffering with a chest infection, I really was not happy about having to walk though a cloud of smoke breathing in obnoxious air! Needless to say, I will not be visiting again!

Come in every now and then to treat the family and the food and service is always fantastic. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff are so nice. Levi in particular was very helpful even though I was a bit awkward with my order. Thanks man :)

Thursday is Curry night visited with 2 Grandchildren on their say so having visited previously with parents the Kids were dead right it was one of the best Chicken kormas my wife and myself have been Served any were , Will visit again on one of their other variable club nights.

You get what you pay for - Spoons is always good value for money.However, watch the charges where drinks are supposedly included with your meal when using the App.Two meals, with two drinks were ordered. Cost of Doombar was taken off completely but only £0.58 taken off for pint of Magners.Otherwise great as normal

Not great look inside but a good place to pop in for a beer and simple meal. I tried two of guest ales not seen elsewhere. Attractive if you are on a stretched budget.

This pub used to pretty decent. Great experience with great staff and service.Now, I know the prices are pretty low but recently the food quality has been awful. I have received two burnt meals in a row while friends have had items missed off their meals repeatedly. Also, after ordering on the app the other day, our food didn't come until over an hour later. There was no explanation or apology and when we asked what was going on the waitress just tried to argue with us. Hopefully this pub/restaurant bounces back soon as it used to be my favourite local.

Its a wetherspoons, so you kinda know what to expect before you enter, on the whole though it is pretty good. Foods better than some, and the pub layout means that you can often find a quieter area.

Awful experience to begin with we have been told that the poached eggs are not available as the machine is not workingThan we said that fried egg will be okay with cooked breakfast We have been served the worst scrambled egg ever seen see the attached photo,dry on the outside and gray inside and when we send it back they try to convince us that is okay like that Two more people that have been waiting for the breakfast just mentioned that they will send it back if looking like that We have been credited the value of the food but we have been charged the full amount on the drinks that we been served despite the fact that they ruined our morning and was too late to go and have breakfast after that in town We have learned our lesson

The review has to be in context. It is a Weatherspoon’s and therefore the stars and commentary on food have to acknowledge that. We stopped for a quick lunch. We both ordered burgers and a beer. The beer was cold and cheaply priced. The burgers and fries came out hot. The onion rings were good as they were not greasy. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I gladly give this four stars but know what you are getting. If it is a chain pub burger and beer, then this is very good at the cheaper end of the market. It is not for gourmet dining and the stars have to be taken in that context.

Never been here before, but after today I’ll be back.A minor mixup with our table was dealt with quickly and efficiently!Best bit was the food, with perfectly cooked steaks and the best chips I’ve had in a long time. Portion size was perfect and value for money.

Food is exactly as you would expect for Wetherspoon's, cheap and tasty enough. Good mid range platter. Decor looks a little tired in places, but plenty of nooks and crannies to sit and have a chat even when it's busy. Not incredible, not terrible.

Called in for a coffee whilst in Daventry. Town centre pub and nicely presented. Clean and fresh and a layout that is not conventional which is a good thing. Friendly staff Competitive prices Nice environment Busy pub Good place to visit.

The Saracens Head Inn is an OK pub with a dated interior and exterior, drinks are cheap but the pint I had wasn't my favourite. This could well be down to personal taste though. Not a must visit but this would be a good choice if you are on a budget.

You get what you pay for and I fed and watered me and the kids for less than £25, service was very quick, with polite and helpful staff, harry the waitress was exceptional !

Myself and wife stopped here for dinner. The staff were very friendly. but looking at the menu couldn't find anything that we fancied. Had a drink and left. The food I see being delivered to other tables looked OK. Next time I'm in the area will definitely try the food.

In town to do a bit of shopping, came across some friends they were going to eat here. I have not been for some time, but all good, food hot, place clean great value.

An enjoyable Sunday evening spent in this typical Weatherspoon's pub. The beers, wines and spirits offer excellent value in pleasant surroundings. On a cold February evening, it wasn’t the warmest of pubs and could do with some additional heating. Apart from that, if you want good value beers and wines, then you’ve come to the right place.

Not the best spoonies I've been to, but not the worst either. As typical, food and beer can be a bit "hit and miss" but generally ok. As with most places, you get what you pay for

Excellent value - good quality fish & chip & mushy peas. Only negative is that there were no Lattes - apparently the coffee machine had been out of action for a week or so. But usual friendly efficient service. And a wait of about 10 minutes for food.

Called in while shopping in Daventry for a Sunday lunch time snack with my parents. Usual Wetherspoons menu & setup, the pub was busy but we managed to find a table then ordered at the bar. The food is good value & some dishes come with a drink. The food didn't take too long to arrive 2 soups & a new chicken, bacon & cheese panini which I had. The chips weren't that hot but were edible & the panini was very hot the only problem was that when making all of the filling was squashed to the side instead of being evenly spread. The soups were both very good i was told. If you want a quick & cheap lunch time snack it is well worth visiting.

Had dinner in quite a large group recently. Well looked after by staff. Food all came out together even though a variety of orders. Well presented and good quantity, including the drinks it was good value.

Came for lunch with my family a few weeks ago we ordered our food and had to wait a hour for it to come we understood it was a busy time for them when the food finally did come out it was cold so we sent it back to be warmed up but again came out cold as we had waited so long for the food we just decided to eat it we then ordered a pudding each my 4 year daughter ordered a vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce half way though eating she said she could swallow this piece of chocolate only to find when I told her to open her mouth it was a piece of plastic the manager said she thought it was a piece of ice when she saw it in the kitchen and took our puddings off the bill then brought my daughter another ice-cream which she refused to eat in case there was plastic in this one too I will never return to this place again they weren’t concerned about this plastic that could have choked my daughter

Visited here as passing and in search of Weatherspoons reliability.No problem getting a clean table early afternoon and the mezzanine is a nice area to get away from the bar.The menu is "standard" spoons, varied and accommodating.Ordering with the App is excellent, whole process is very slick and a real 'added value' tool. Adding extras is easy and bill is calculated correctly without fail. This was the highlight of the lunch experience though.Food was disappointing even for Weatherspoons (average expectations) and even the portions were measly so quantity didn't even substitute for quality in this instance. Luke warm and tasteless, usually a burger and chips is not so challenging.In any case, I'd say visit with care and keep expectations low to avoid disappointment.

Very disappointing. First we could not find a clean table, so had to sweep debris off of the table ourselves before sitting down to order. When the waitress arrived with one of our meals she explained and apologised how kitchen staff had put chips on the other order rather than the baked potato we had ordered. She went on to say our order was being sorted. My husband had to eat alone while I waited; as the food was served on 'cold' plates so his meal got cold very quickly. I ordered a latte which arrived with no spoon or sugar :-(. When my meal eventually arrived the chicken was hard on one side and I could not eat it.

good Wetherspoons pub. food was excellent and staff and service were great. Menu to suit most tastes and served quickly. Do not expect a quiet lunchtime as on the day we went there were a lot of screaming kids. The pub is on various levels with lots of steps so not great for the disabled. however an enjoyable meal.

It is a Wetherspoons and the beauty of Wetherspoons they 'do what what it says on the tin'. We ate there and the food was excellent. Sharing nachos were tasty and a good portion. The steak was well cooked, very tasty and fantastic value.Even better the staff were very friendly and attentive. People can be dismissive of Wetherspoons - yet they rarely let me down

Typical good quality Wetherspoons food; service & value. Curry day is excellent value - upgrade to include the bargees etc. Nice quiet atmosphere - and plenty of room.

For around £3.50 I wasn't expecting too much but I have had many Wetherspoons breakfasts & usually they're delicious! I ordered the traditional breakfast; the beans were very cold, so was the sausage & the bacon was very rubbery. I didn't want to make a comment because I would have felt silly complaining about the breakfast for the price I paid!!My mamma & grandad had a lamb meal later on the same evening & they said that it was very good so maybe it was a one-off bad experience for me.

While staying in Daventry for a few weeks this is the place i decided to eat at for most nights as the food was great, good variety and quick service and friendly staff, great pub atmosphere also and reasonably price for what you get

Dropped in for breakfast with friends, before heading off our separate ways following a great weekend meet up. The decor is comfortable, but the food was good and plenty of it. I highly recommend it, there is a small car park at the rear, but plenty of free parking nearby.

I've eaten here with family and friends a few times over the past couple of years. The food has on the whole been pleasant enough - not worthy of huge praise but average "pub grub" and not worth a bad review. Until today.My original choice of main course wasn't available but this happens everywhere. So I opted for steak and ale pie with chips and peas. Big mistake!I struggled to cut through the concrete-like crust of the pie to reach a tasteless filling. This was accompanied by chips which were mainly hard in the middle, peas which were as hard as pebbles and gravy which was as tasteless as the pie.If it hadn't been for the fact that we'd had a long day and were eager to get home I'd have complained there and then. As it was, I phoned when I arrived home and asked to speak to the manager who wasn't available.....I was told my call would be returned asap and that was three hours ago, adding insult to injury.

Very poor representation of Wetherpoons brand.Place is generally filthy and they never seem to clean the tables.Getting served takes forever and when you finally get the food its cold or overcooked.Wetherspoons need to get a grip on this pub

We had a family lunch. Good menu and it was cheap. The decor could do with a refurbishment. Part of the ceiling hanging down. Young girls serving were pleasant. The bar was very busy with drinkers and a large enough area for meals. Clean toilets. Three choices for a vegan meal which is great, and a lot more than what I normally find in restaurants. Good value for money.

Called in today with family members service at the bar was prompt but not that friendly.My meal was Lasagne and this was OK, but my husbands Tandoori Chicken Wrap was bad. The wrap itself was stone cold and seemed stale, and the pieces of chicken inside were hard and dry it tasted like Tandoori chicken bites not the usual Tandoori chicken and there was no salad inside and very little meat in at all. On complaining a second meal was brought out, this was a slightly better but the wrap itself was cold and again hardly any chicken in it.. We visit other Wetherspoon's and both have had this meal and it has been delicious. There was no check back to the table during the meal and plates and glasses were not cleared away from tables around us.Very disappointed as this our family get together.

Once again we were in Daventry and at the request of the children we ended up here, it seems to have become a tradition whenever our daughter has a karate grading to go here after.As always the service was quick and friendly and the food was all great.It's pub grub but never disappoints.We had a tuna baguette with salad, tandoori chicken wrap with salad, gourmet burger with chips, chilli dog with chips, 3 j20s and a pint of beer for £22.Everyone was happy with their food, the pub was clean and it has a hygiene rating of 5 too.

Wonderfully looked after by Chris and the team, I had an off Xmas menu gluten free option, nothing was to much trouble, no fuss and I felt totally happy with my meal. For once I didn't feel guilty about being coeliac !

Rough place...but nice food. A lot of choice... i've tried the chicken burgers with fries and onions...absolutely nice and fair enough for price. Good place for a lunch

Called in for lunch while on a coach trip in the area. after studying the menu I went to the bar and ordered and paid only to be told that the pies we wanted were out of stock so had to go back to bar to choose something else. When our food did come it was hot and served nicely and good vale for money.Signage for the toilets need improving as they are tucked away upstairs.

Grubby stains on chaired lots of up down steps (am in wheel chair) But GlutenFree menu . Food arrived hot and good value

The Saracens was lovely old coach house, as a Wetherspoons it could be better. The beer is good, and the food is OK. Being served can be a long wait, not enough staff at busy times. If you just want a beer, with customers ordering food and drinks, bar staff making coffee etc, can add up to a very long wait. There should be a separate till for table orders. Average at best Wetherspoons.

food was ok but disappointed that at 6pm children were allowed in the main pub, so eating with children running round and screaming has put us off going again

Set in an old Coaching Inn this was one of the best Wetherspoons we have been in for a long time. Worth a visit for the building on its own. Fantastic choice of real ales, the food was better than usual, staff were excellent both friendly and welcoming. Defintely go again.

Visited for a beer on a Monday afternoon - handful of people in but absolutely no atmosphere and no welcome from the bar staff. Wanted to sit upstairs but every table (no exaggeration) was covered in glasses, plates or rubbish. Informed the manager who didn't even mutter an apology. The young waiter who went up to clear was clearly under duress as the noise of glasses and cutlery could be heard downstairs.Drank up (the beer was good!) and left without being noticed by any staff.Not impressed.

Looking for lunch in Daventry and found the 'Spoons. Had my favourite, the sirloin steak with a pint included in the price. As good as ever. Could have done with a better choice of cask beer though.

Once again we had a lovely meal and we love to see such an onest good food served in minutes well seasoned, tasty, hot and on decent price Fantastic evening that change the mood after a busy stressful day Thank you Well done to the whole team Best place to eat in Daventry

dreadful service the worst wetherspoons ive ever been into the staff are extremely rude and very ignorant probably the worst service of any spoons ive been into as well. the chips were still cold and burger had limp salad on unlike leamington , rugby, Northampton, Banbury wetherspoons that I venture into are first class with service food and drinks ...BUCK YOUR IDEAS UP IN DAVENTRY

I ask myself why people eat in over priced motorway services when there is great value eats just a couple of miles away. After 100 miles we stopped for lunch which was standard Wetherspoons faire but a meal for 2 was £13 including drinks rather than £35 on the motorway plus the building is historic. Great value in a handy location, I think Wetherspoons should give a guide of those pubs just off the motorway.

I took my little boy here today for lunch whilst his sister was at a local activity.Its a spoons so you know what you are going to get but it didnt dIsappoint at all, really good service, food ready really quickly and everything was fresh.Really nice pub, good location and we parked right outside for free.My little boy went for an adults meal as they are so cheap and LOVED the hotdog...it was HUGE!LOVING THE NEW MENU, WOULD GO HERE AGAIN IF IN THE AREA!

What you would expect for a Wetherspoons pub. Cheap and cheerful and plenty of it. Value for Money is spot on. Staff in my experience have always been really friendly and cheerful.
